Alexis Dale Grace Smith

BONO -- Alexis Dale Grace Smith, infant daughter of Lori Allen and Jessie Smith of Bono, died Tuesday at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

In addition to her parents, survivors include two brothers, Brandon Hardy and Dalton Morrow; a sister, Whitney Morrow; grandparents Alberta Glasco of Hickory Flat, Miss. and Deborah Smith of Ripley, Miss.; and great-grandparents Maxine Bennett Charles and Annie Foust, all of Ripley.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday morning at Pine Log Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Gandy officiating and Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation.

Larry Michael Taylor

JONESBORO -- Larry Michael Taylor, 52, of Jonesboro died Monday, Nov. 21, at his residence.

Born at Jonesboro, he lived most of his life as a resident of Jonesboro. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He served as a deputy sheriff for the Craighead County Sheriff's Department and a state trooper for the Arkansas State Police. He owned and operated Couch's Barbeque of Paragould.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Taylor of the home; a daughter, Ashley Layne and a son-in-law, Chip Layne of Jonesboro; a stepson, Seth Elder of Jonesboro; three brothers, Gaylon Taylor of Jonesboro, Bill Taylor of Monette; Ronnie Taylor of Paragould; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Whitlee Layne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O.A. Taylor Jr. and Sue Couch Taylor; his grandparents, O.A. Taylor Sr., and Vivian Taylor; and Frank Couch Sr. and Isadore Couch.

Pallbearers are Gaylon Taylor, Bill Taylor, Ronnie Taylor, Chip Layne, Seth Elder, Kenny Phillips, Jim Johnston, Lynn Scott, Dave Carter and Floyd Stonecipher.

Honorary pallbearers include Matthew Taylor, Brooks Taylor, Larry Grissom, members of the Sure Shot Hunting Club, and employees of Couch's BBQ of Paragould.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Danny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery near Brookland.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to service time today at the Emerson Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis 38105.

Evelyn Irene Adcock Tucker

CARAWAY -- Evelyn Irene Adcock Tucker, 83, of Caraway died Wednesday at her residence.

Survivors include a son, Robert Adcock of Caraway; and a brother, Raymond Dau of Michigan.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Caraway Cemetery, with the Rev. Waymon Holt officiating. Gregg Funeral Home of Monette is in charge of arrangements.

Berneta Baird

JONESBORO -- Berneta Rae Baird, age 73, of Jonesboro died Friday evening, Nov. 25, 2005, at Craighead Nursing Center in Jonesboro where she resided.

Born Oct. 7, 1932, in Ainsworth, Neb., Mrs. Baird lived in Kimball, Neb., Fort Morgan, Colo., Pampa, Texas, and Amarillo, Texas, before moving to Jonesboro two years ago.

She had been a school teacher, secretary, and was a talented hand-weaver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Aaron Baird, in 2004.

Survivors include three daughters, LeAnne Baird of Dallas, Texas, Karen Anderson of Hartsburg, Mo., and Jeanne Grossman of Jonesboro; a son, Jeffrey Baird of Keller, Texas; a sister, Dorris Ann Ashley of North Platte, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial will be private. There will be no visitation.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas 79174.

Golda Mae Bryan

LEPANTO -- Golda Mae Bryan, age 80, of Lepanto died Friday, in NEA Medical Center at Jonesboro.

She was a machine operator at Bobbie Brooks Manufacturing Co. and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Bryan of Lepanto; one daughter, Betty Talley of Bedford, Texas; two sons, Gary Bryan of Lepanto and Jerry Bryan of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Brenda Anderson of Cabot and Joyce Hunt of Batesville; four brothers, Seywood Jones of Jerseyville, Ill., Bill Jones of Springville, N.Y., Doug Jones of West Alton, Mo. and Jim Jones of Houston, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. today at Murphy Funeral Home.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Larry Deaton officiating.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Bryan's grandsons.

Burial will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, with Murphy Funeral Home in charge.

Memorials may be made to Red Oak Baptist Church.

Marion Howard Cooper

JONESBORO -- Marion Howard "Bud" Cooper, 74, of Jonesboro died Friday, Nov. 25, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born Feb. 8, 1931 in Nettleton, he lived in the Jonesboro area most of his life. He was the retired owner of Howard Cooper Agricultural Lime Company. He was of the Baptist belief and a Korean War veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Stalcup Cooper of the home; a son, Steve Cooper of Jonesboro; a brother, Homer Cooper of Mountain Home; a grandson, Bradley Cooper; three step-grandsons, Chad Reed, Brian Reed and Chris Reed; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Reed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Anna Cooper; one sister; and five brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Robbie McMasters and Zach Guilliam officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Weldon Newcom, Tim Cooper, Michael Veteto, Keith Veteto, Darrell Veteto and Ernest Cooper.

Visitation will be from 5--8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Macedonia Cemetery.

Glenna Dunkerson

MONETTE -- Glenna Jewell Dunkerson, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Manila Nursing Home.

Born in Formosa, she was a former resident of Rosebud and had been a resident of Manila for the past three years. She worked as a certified nursing assistant and she with her late husband farmed for many years in Caraway.

Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Morrison of Mountain Home, Sandra Walker of Manila, and Donna Siepel of Monticello, Minn.; two sons, Darrell Dunkerson of Rosebud and Harold Dunkerson of Blytheville; a sister, Jimmie Smith of Sikeston, Mo.; three brothers, Bob Barnes of Hayti, Mo., Claude Barnes of St. Charles, Mo., and Bernard Barnes of Anaheim, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Dunkerson; father, Claude Howell Barnes Sr.; mother, Hettie Bell Barnes; two brothers, Elmo Barnes and Walter Barnes; sister, Jane Henry; and a great-grandson, Stephen Allen.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with the Rev. Waymon Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Dewayne Dunkerson, Dwain Walker, Brett Reams, Ron Siepel, William Hendrix and Allen Reams.

Memorials may be sent to the Manila Nursing Home or the Alzheimer's Society.

Marion L. 'Butch' Gregson

JONESBORO -- Marion L. "Butch" Gregson, 65, of Jonesboro died Friday, Nov. 25, at Craighead Nursing Center.

Born in Jonesboro, he was a Missionary Baptist Minister prior to illness. He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Timothy Gregson of Bono; daughters, Cindy Barren of Midwest, Okla., and Tonya Stevenson of Jonesboro; a brother, Charles L. Gregson of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Helen Dorris and Loma Garner, both of Jonesboro, and Frances Dawson of Bono; grandchildren, Adam, Christopher and Christina Wheeless, all of Bono, and Samantha and Nicole Brannen.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, graveside at Macedonia Cemetery with Larry Muriel officiating.

Memorials may be made to Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
