Eva Lee Kitchell

Eva Lee Kitchell, 76, of Greenbrier, died Feb. 18, 2006.

She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.

She is survived by her sons, Bob Kitchell of Archer City, TX, Keith Kitchell of Franklin, TN and Michael Kitchell of Sherwood; daughter, Karen Martin of Conway; sister, Geraldine Kemp of Holly Springs, MS; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 20 at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 4715 Gum St., North Little Rock, Ark. 72118.

Harold McPherson

Harold Ray McPherson, age 65, of North Little Rock, died Jan. 18, 2006. He worked in the swimming pool industry 1959 to 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Ellen McPherson; three sons, Randy of Sherwood, Tim of Conway, Jay McPherson, North Little Rock; four grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny C. McPherson and Charles McPherson of North Little Rockk; four sisters, Juanita Higdon of Wooster, Elizabeth Reeves of Damascus, Mary Dycus of Morgan, Velma Bailey of Bethany.

Memorials may be made to First Pentecostal Church, 1401 Calvary, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Mayflower cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements by North Little Rock Fueral Home.

Gladys M. Tennant

Gladys M. Tennant, 55, of Northport, FL, died Jan. 17, 2006.
She was a graduate of South Boston High School, class of 1968, and graduate of Newbury Junior College in Boston. She was a Gulf War veteran, touring in 1990 and 1991.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn W. Tennant, of Sherwood; brothers John F. Foley of Waltham, MA, and William F. Foley of Boston; and sister, Kathleen E. Collins of Mansfield, MA.

She will be laid to rest at Massachusetts National cemetery in Bourne on Feb. 6 at 1 p.m.

Condolences should be sent to 8112 Greer Rd., Sherwood Ark. 72120.
Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309.

Melinda Stevens

Melinda “Nunu” Hindman Stevens, 43, of Little Rock, died Jan. 18, 2006.

Rock, Ark. Melinda “Nunu” was born January 8, 1963, in Little Rock, Ark., a daughter of Robert L. Hindman and Lilley O. (Eubanks) Hindman. Melinda was an artist and a homemaker. She was a member of Sylvan Hills Community Church.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Jeff Stevens of Little Rock; children, Melissa Ann England of Little Rock, Amanda Michelle Harris, Amy Dawn George both of Sheridan; sisters, Karen Malmquist of North Little Rock, Sharon Price, Bunny Barron both of Little Rock, and Peggy Cotton of Raymore, MO; brother Joe Hindman of Sherwood; Melodie Hindman, and Mickey Conrad both of Sherwood; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 21 at the Sylvan Hills Community Church in North Little Rock.

Interment was at the Gibson cemetery in North Little Rock.

Arrangements were by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock.

Gladys Garvin

Gladys Garvin, 93, of North Little Rock, died Jan. 19, 2006.

She was retired from the North Little Rock School District in food service and a member of First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock.

She is survived by her son, Harold Garvin, of Sherwood; daughter, Barbara Slavens, of Evanston, WY; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to The Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72204.

Funeral services were held Jan. 24 at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial was in Sumner cemetery in Cabot.

Arrangements were by North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Ora Bell Garner

Ora Bell Roberts Garner, 94, of Little Rock, died recently.

She was a long-time bank employee and a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, Little Rock.

She is survived by her husband, Odis Garner; sons, John Garner of Sherwood, and Wayne Garner of Mabelvale; sisters, Murphy Keathly and Merle Hofschire, both of Little Rock; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 24 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth in Little Rock.

Burial followed at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Clara Daughenbaugh

Clara Rose Taldo Daughenbaugh, 88, of Sherwood, died Jan. 23, 2006.

She was a 1937 graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s Academy, a founding member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a charter member of the Immaculate Conception Altar Society, current member of the Arts and Crafts Guild and a member of the Sherwood Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Winfield Daughenbaugh, Jr., of North Little Rock; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Saugey of Sherwood; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thurs., Jan. 26, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with interment following at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.

Arrangements were by North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Debt Retirement Fund.

Doyne T. Branch

Doyne T. Branch, 68, of Cabot, died Jan. 19, 2006.

He was born in Lonoke County.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Branch; sons, Curtis of Hermitage, and David and John Branch, both of Sherwood; twin brother, Owen Branch of Greenbrier; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He served in the United States Navy and was a graduate of Harding University in Searcy. He was a Special Agent with the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and spent the last seven years of his career in New Orleans, LA. After retirement, he started his own business, Branch Investigative Services, in Arkansas.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., Jan. 28, at Cabot Funeral Home in Cabot with Richard Kirkland of the Church of Christ in Russellville officiating.

Ulyes Fay Gibbins

Ulyes Fay Gibbins of Stuttgart, formerly of Coy, died Feb. 20, 2006.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and a lifelong farmer. He served in the Army.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Louise Randolph Gibbins; daughter, Caroline Morgan of Stuttgart; son, William Gibbins of Memphis; granddaughter, Nadia Yancey of Stuttgart; grandson, Jett Yancey of Stuttgart; parents, Eityhel and Luvestia Gibbins of England; brothers, Van Gibbins, and Lynn Gibbins, both of England, and Joe Gibbins of Sherwood.

Services were at 10 a.m., Thurs., Feb. 23, at Stuttgart Church of Christ.

Burial was followed in Sunshine cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.

John Ross

John Ross, 78, of Hoxie, died May 31, 2004, at Baptist Memorial East in Memphis.

Born Sept. 3, 1925, in the Joplin community, he was the son of Mark and Fronia Neal Ross. He lived in the Hoxie area most of his life and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillie Moore and Josephine Peters; a brother, Harold Ross; and two grandsons, Nathan Wilson and Clinton John Ross.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Katherene Forsythe Ross; three sons, John L. Ross, San Antonio, Texas, Jackie Ross, Paragould, and Ron Ross, Jonesboro; two daughters, Jewel Wilson, Jonesboro, and Betsy Bennett, Springdale; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Thursday at 2 p.m. in the House-Gregg Chapel with Rev. David Strait and Ricky Anglin officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will by Vernon Moore, John Moore, Donnie Roberts, Greg Miles, Wesley Gates and Leslie Gates. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Foster, Kenneth Quarry, Tommy Moore and Faris Paxton.

Visitation is this evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
