Charles Jefferson Manning

Charles Jefferson Manning, 72, of Maynard, died May 28, 2004, at Randolph County Medical Center in Pocahontas.

Born Oct. 14, 1931, in Walnut Ridge, he was a retired maintenance foreman for Waterloo Industries.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Cordia Rushin Manning; and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Prescott Manning; two daughters, Melissa Tribble and Angela Blair, both of Pocahontas; two sons, Dennis Manning and Billy Manning, both of Pocahontas; a stepdaughter, Pam Hutcherson, West Memphis; a stepson, Chris Grigsby; four sisters, Ellen Smelser and Mildred Perry, both of Rockford, Ill., Martha Statler, Kennett, Mo., and Brenda Bogard, Cleburne, Mo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at Higginbotham Chapel. Burial was in Manning cemetery #2 near Walnut Ridge under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.

Eunice Wheeler

Eunice Wheeler, 93, of Sherwood, died Feb. 20, 2006.

She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Huffmaster of Sherwood, Emmagene McMoran of North Little Rock, and Allene Bridges of Jacksonville; son, Edford Lee (Buddy) Wheeler of Greers Ferry; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Hackler of Little Rock and Frankie Joe Hackler of Fayetteville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 23, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Cato cemetery.

Dustin Gene Dyer

Dustin Gene Dyer, 20, of Sherwood, died Feb. 20, 2006.

He was a graduate of Sylvan Hills High School and was going to Pulaski Technology College for a business degree. He worked at 6th Street Exxon.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Lynn Dyer; brother, Josh Dyer; grandparents, David and Joyce Cates of North Little Rock, and Horace Litton of Lyles, TN; and great-grandmother, Connie Hudgens.

Visitation is Fri., Feb. 24, from 5-8 p.m. at Park Hill Baptist Church.
Services will be 10 a.m., Sat., Feb. 25, at Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 East C Street, North Little Rock, with Luke Fletcher and Aaron Hulse officiating.
Arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock.

Memorials can be made at any Twin City Bank branches in memory of Dustin Dyer.

Mead A. Harris

Mead “M.A.” Anderson Harris, of Sherwood, died Feb. 21, 2006.
He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He retired from the North Little Rock Police Department after 20 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of 55 years; daughter, Irma Wood; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held Fri. Feb. 24, from 5-7 p.m., with rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sat., Feb. 25, at 2 p.m., at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock.

Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7000 J.F.K. Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark., 72116 or the Fraternal Order of Police, 3201 River Road, North Little Rock, Ark., 72114.

Bill Brady Grace

Bill Brady Grace, of North Little Rock, died recently.

He worked for Olin-Mathieson Chemical Company for many years. He was an inactive member of First Assembly of God Church, North Little Rock and a former member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his siblings, Elaine Cottrell of Alma, Ray Crace of North Little Rock, and Claud Crace of Austin, TX; daughter, Billie “Bill” Ratcliff of Little Rock; five grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice Home Care, 2200 South Bowman, Little Rock, Ark. 72211 or Sumner cemetery, 118 Stuckey Road, Cabot, Ark. 72023.

The funeral service was held Feb. 18 in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment was at the Sumner cemetery in Cabot.

Georgia Lou Craig

Georgia Lou Craig, 77, of North Little Rock, died Feb. 16, 2006.

She is survived by her sons, Richey Donham, and Doug Donham both of NLR; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was past national president of Chi Sigma Sorority, Beta Alpha Chapter.
Memorials may be made to Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 116 South Pine, NLR 72114.

Funeral services were held Feb. 18 in the Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment was in the Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Charles F. Cox

Charles F. Cox, 71, of North Little Rock, died Feb. 18, 2006.

He was C.E.O. of WACO Manufacturing Inc. He was a member and chairman of the deacons, and a trustee at Levy Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Gideon’s International.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne (McAllester) Cox of North Little Rock; daughters, Dena Sowell of Sherwood, and Suzanne Riffle of Poplar Bluff, MO; son, Thomas F. Cox of Little Rock; sisters, JoAnn Vinson and Sharon Loudermilk both of Maumelle; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at the Levy Baptist Church.
Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Levy Baptist Church Building Fund, 3501 Pike Ave. North Little Rock, Ark. 72118.

Arrangements were by the North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Tiffany N. Brown

Tiffany Nicole Brown, 18, of Little Rock, died Feb. 15, 2006.
She was a student at CAC. Her activities included: cheerleading where she was captain of the squad, volunteering for Junior Diabetes League, Mayor’s Youth Council, Beta Club, Senior Class Vice President, and National Junior Honor Society. She attended the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her father, Bill Brown of Little Rock; sisters, Teresa Collins of Kingsport, TN, Billie “B.J.” Bedregal of Mt. Airy, MD, and Geneva Brown of Sherwood; grandmothers, Merle J. Smith of Malvern, and Anita L. Norman of North Little Rock.

Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

Billie Jean Brown

Billie Jean “Mimi” Brown, 52, of Little Rock, died Feb. 15, 2006.

She was a graduate of Carthage High School. She was raised in the Baptist faith and attended 1st Christian Church.

She is survived her children, Teresa “Big Kid” Collins of Kingsport, TN, Billie “Little Kid” Bedregal of Mount Airy, MD, and Geneva “Middle Kid” Brown of Sherwood; mother, Merle Smith of Malvern; brothers, Charles Smith of Malvern, and Douglas Smith of Mena; sisters, Evelyn Williams of Marlow, OK, and Janet Moon of Malvern; four grandchildren; grandmother, Elsie Wallace of Malvern; and Bill Brown, her friend and father of her children.

Funeral services were held Feb. 21 at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

Helen L. P. Cochran

Helen Louise Parnell Cochran, 85, died Feb. 17, 2006.

She was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, John R. Cochran (Bob); son, Butch Cochran of North Little Rock; daughters, Roberta Daniels and Esther Matthews of Sherwood; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Gracie Cochran and Carolyn Reaves of Carlisle; and brother, Roy Matlock of California.

Funeral Services were held Feb. 21 at Hamilton Baptist Church with interment in Hamilton cemetery.

Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.

Memorials may be made to Hamilton Baptist Church or cemetery.

William R. Combs

William Robert Combs, 86, of England, died Feb. 19, 2006.

He was a farmer and of Pentecostal Faith.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Macel Combs of England; son, Larry Joe Combs of Fort Smith; daughter, Sue Cook of Sherwood; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 21 at the Roller-England Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Union Valley cemetery.
