Roger K. Lott
Roger Keith Lott, 45, of Brown Grove died May 17, 2006.
He was a 1979 honor graduate of Carlisle High School and a member of the Hickory Plains Missionary Baptist Church. He was the tenor singer of Solid Ground Gospel Quartet and an ordained preacher. He was also owner and operator of Roger Lott Painting.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; two sons, Joshua Keith Lott and Jacob Andrew Lott; two daughters, Chelsea Lee Lott and Cayla Nicole Lott, all of the home; parents, Leonard and Janetta Lott of Brown Grove; four brothers, Randy Lott of Sheridan, Ricky Lott of San Antonio, Texas, Ronnie Lott of Jacksonville and Robert Lott of Carlisle; and two grandchildren.
Visitation was May 19 at Garth Funeral Home in Des Arc. Funeral services were Saturday, May 20, at Hickory Plains Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Camp and Bro. James King officiating.
Burial in Center Point cemetery with Bro. Doyle Fort officiating.
Madge M. Simpson
Madge Marie Simpson, 68, of Lonoke died May 19, 2006. She is survived by her husband, William; sons, Randy and Gary of Texas; daughter, Becky; brother, Robert (Bert) Hearne; sister, Carolyn; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lois Virginia Woods
Lois Virginia Woods, 80, of Sherwood, died May 18, 2006.
She was an Assemblies of God preacher’s wife to her husband of 64 years, Rev. George C. Woods of Sherwood.
She is also survived by her son, Clinton Woods of Harrison; daughter, Brenda Zermatten of North Little Rock; sisters, Joe Ann Taylor of Bakersfield, CA, and Dorothy Sims of Visalia, CA; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 22 at the North Little Rock Funeral Home chapel. Interment was in the Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Claud Smith, Sr.
Claud “Harold” Smith Sr., 77, of McGehee, died May 17, 2006.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Smith of McGehee; sons, John Mark Smith of Sherwood, David Smith of McGehee, Tim Smith of Jonesboro and James Smith of Batesville; daughter, Cynthia Foster of Jupiter, FL; and sisters, Juanita Turner of Marianna, Va., Alexandra of Marks, MS, Sarah Bradshaw and Lois Gregory, both of West Helena; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held May 21 at the McGehee Church of Christ. Burial was Monday at Sunset cemetery in West Helena under the direction of Griffin Funeral Service of McGehee.

Raymond Thompson
Raymond Ashford Thompson, 88, of Sherwood, died May 22, 2006. He retired from Kennsington Fire Department in Silver Springs, Md., as fire chief and served with the Federal Government for many years and was a 32nd-degree Mason.
He is survived by his son, Raymond Ashford Thompson II; daughters, Sharon McMinn and Pam Harrell; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Thurs., May 25, at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood with Bro. Tim McMinn officiating.

William Edgar Davis
William Edgar Davis, of Pine Bluff, died May 7, 2006. He was a Vietnam veteran who honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1977.
Graveside services with military honors were held May 24 at Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock. Arrangements were by Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
William H. Goggans
William Howard Goggans, 73, of Sherwood, died May 23, 2006.
He was a certified public accountant who served in Iceland in the U.S. Army and was a retired controller of paper operations for Georgia Pacific Corporation in Crossett.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Griebel Goggans; daughter, Susan Marie Goggans of Little Rock; son, Thomas Howard Goggans of North Little Rock; and brother, John Miles Goggans of Little Rock.
A private memorial service was held.Cremation arrangements were with Roller-Chenal Funeral Home assisting.
Cleveland Lee Ramsey
Cleveland Lee Ramsey, 71, of Pocahontas, father of Pat Brewer of Portia, died April 5, 2004, at his home. Funeral is Friday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas. Burial, with VFW honors by Promberger-Traw Post 4556, will be in Palestine cemetery at Palestine. Visitation is Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Frank David Salazar
Frank David Salazar, age 17, of North Little Rock, passed away on April 3, 2006.
Survivors include his parents, Mark & Denise Salazar; and brothers, Marcus & Brandon Salazar all of the home.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 7, 2006 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. with services scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at McArthur Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville. Fred Hardison, Sr.
Fred J. Hardison, Sr., 72, of Sherwood, died March 29, 2006. He was retired U.S. Air Force (23 years), worked for the U.S. Postal Service (20 years), a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his sons; Fred (Frieda) Hardison, Jr., and Greg Hardison, both of Jacksonville; brother, Ronnie Hardison of Highpoint, N.C.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 1 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Interment followed in the Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
Mary Louise Edwards
Mary Louise Edwards, 89, of Jacksonville, died March 30, 2006.
She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1933 and was a resident of Jacksonville for 52 years. She attended the Jehovah Witness Church of Jacksonville.
She is survived by her children, Bob Edwards of Russellville, David Edwards of Denver, CO, James Edwards of Sherwood, Carol Luzadar of Germantown, TN; sisters, Hazel Blakeley, and Mabel Thiede, both of Little Rock; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 4 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel, with the Interment at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.
Donna Marie Melikian
Donna Marie Melikian, 71, of Sherwood, died April 1, 2006. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sherwood. She was a retired substitute teacher at Abundant Life School in Sherwood.
Survivors include her brother, Bert Card of Georgia; sons, J.T. Melikian of Sherwood, Roger Melikian of Wynne, and Stefan Melikian of Walnut Ridge; daughter, Dona Melikian of Sherwood; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 4 at First Baptist Church in Sherwood. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Dorothy Laura Jane Robinson, 71, of Sherwood, died April 2, 2006. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Robbie Wayne Robinson; sons, Michael J. Constantine of Little Rock, and John L. Constantine of Orlando, FL; and five grandchildren.

Ida Mae Dawes
Ida Mae Dawes, of Sherwood, died April 4, 2006. She was a waitress of Granoff’s and Hank’s Dog House Restaurant of many years.
Survivors include her sons, Jim Dawes of Sherwood, and Robert Dawes of Lafayette, LA; daughters, Alica Bradford of Little Rock, and Paula Uekman of Conway; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thurs., April 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock.
A graveside funeral service will be 10 a.m., Fri., April 7, at the Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock.
Peter John Jaworski
Peter John Jaworski, 77, of Sherwood, died April 4, 2006.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad after 46 years. He helped organize the American Duck hunters association and served as its director for 17 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for over 50 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (DJ) Jaworski and her mother, Mary Lou Jaworski; brothers, Andrew and Paul; sisters, Anna Zanoff, Maria Kitchens, Regina Smith and Joanna Lawhon.
