Dorothy Jean Pierce
Dorothy Jean Pierce, 76, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital. She spent most of her life in the Pittsburg, Kan., area. Her parents, George and Anna Mae Frew, preceded her in death, as well as a son, William L. Pierce, a daughter, Mary A. Pulliam, and a granddaughter, Michelle Pulliam. She was dearly loved and will be truly missed by many. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Deneice Carter of Fort Smith, Tressie and Amy Stephenson, both of Girard, Kan., Jenny Stephenson and Jennifer, Jacqueline and Andy Pierce, all of Pittsburg; also 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Kissner of Fort Smith; a brother, Robert Frew of Gresham, Ore.; and a son-in-law, Robert Pulliam of Fort Smith.
There will be a memorial service held at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, 301 E. Washington in Pittsburg, where she had been a member. Officiating will be the Rev. Mike Hart, on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The family asks that memorials be made in her name to the Peachtree Palliative Care Center at Sparks Regional Medical Center, 4300 Rogers Ave., Suite 33, Fort Smith.

Kenneth Larry King Sr.
Kenneth Larry King Sr., 52, passed away of natural cause in his home on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, in Mulberry. He was born Nov. 12, 1952, in Fort Smith to Thelma and Orville King. He worked for Riverside Furniture and other plants in the Fort Smith area. Kenneth graduated from Northside High School and was a member of the Army National Guard. He was a devout Christian and a charter member of Windsor Park Baptist Church.
Kenneth enjoyed all outdoor and sporting activities. Most of all he was proud of his four children and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gwen King, mother Thelma Truelove and stepmother Iva King.
He is survived by his father, Orville King of Fort Smith; a daughter, Elizabeth King of Fort Smith; three sons, Kenneth King Jr. and Daniel King, both of Fort Smith, and Joshua King of Fayetteville; two sisters, Nancy Vandergriff of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Beverly Stallings of Fort Smith; two brothers, Jim King of Fort Smith and Virgil Maynard of Sand Springs, Okla.; three grandchildren, Skyler, Jada and Amara King, all of Fort Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at South Pointe Baptist Church at Windsor Drive and North Albert Pike Avenue under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Private family burial arrangements are pending.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
There will be a viewing today from noon to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Terrell and Michael King, Brent Vandergriff, Dean and Keith Drummond and T.J. Adams.

Bob Del Clark
Bob Del Clark, 68, of Fort Smith passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church and a salesman for Simple Simon’s Pizza. Bob Clark was a loving and supportive family man. His joy came from watching his children and then grandchildren in school and sport activities. He was the picture of optimism — never having anything but a smile on his face and saying, “Everything’s great.” He was loved dearly and will be missed very much. We are thankful our “Papa” is rejoicing in heaven with the Lord.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with burial at Oak cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; two sons, Stan Clark and his wife Mendy of Fort Smith, and Ken Clark and his wife Christy of Muldrow; six grandchildren, Lindsey Clark of Fayetteville, Jenna Clark of Chicago, Maegan and Tyler Clark, both of Fort Smith, and Kensey and Seth Clark, both of Muldrow; and close family friends Dale Hart and his wife Ireta.
Pallbearers will be Jim Hargrove, Bill Gordon, Danny Gardner, Allen Tate, James DuMont and Randy Lloyd.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Blaschke, Mike Blaylock, Dr. Rob Sanders, Dr. Mike Callaway, Darrell Yates, Paul Sharp and Grey Russell.
Family will visit with friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to River Valley Christian School Bible Department, P.O. Box 3366, Fort Smith, AR 72913-3366; or Bob Clark Memorial Roland Hugh School Activities Fund, P.O. Box 308, Roland, OK 74954.

Grace W. Thrasher
Grace W. Thrasher, age 75, of Fort Smith died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was a food supervisor for the Oaks Lodge Nursing Home and was night auditor for the Goldman and Ward hotels for many years. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Fort Smith and served as church organist. She also worked with the Federation of the Blind in the Fort Smith chapter.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Liberty Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Huntington City cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one son, Harold Edward Thrasher of Norman, Okla.; one sister, Ruth Geiger Ralls of Fort Smith; one stepsister, Donna Crelia of Witcherville; two brothers, Jim Geiger of Texarkana and Robert Geiger of Mena; one stepbrother, Bob Coplin of Witcherville; and one grandchild, Angel Banker.
Pallbearers will be Paul Post, Jim Hignight, Larry Bob Johnson, Roger Banker and Grant and Lew Geiger.
Family visitation will be Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Daniel Reikes
Daniel Reikes, 51, of Cedarville died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, in his home. He is survived by his wife, Louise Palmer Sparks of the home; daughter, Robyn Louise Watson and husband Danny of Charleston; son, Eric Robert Burns of Fort Smith; sister, Eleni Reikes Hobson and husband Chris Hobson of River Vale, N.J.; two brothers, Andrew Reikes and Ron Cisneros of Cambridge, Mass.; grandchildren, Jacob and Jared Hunter, both of Charleston, and Allie Watson of Booneville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Irving Reikes and Irene Beges Reikes of Emerson, N.J.
There will be a gathering of friends and family Tuesday from noon to 3 p.m. in the east room of the Fort Smith River Front Parks Building. Memorial contributions may be made to Heifer International Project, P.O. Box 16921, Merrifield, VA 22116. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.

Jimmie Ledbetter
GREENWOOD — Jimmie Lee Ledbetter, 56, of Greenwood died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, in a local hospital. He was retired military.
No services are planned. Cremation is under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a wife; and a daughter.

Glen Rose
DORA — Glen Eugene Rose, 39, of Dora died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a member of Dora Assembly of God, a graduate of Northside High School and a former employee of Skills Training Center.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Dora cemetery in Dora.
He is survived by his parents, Fred and Patricia Rose of Dora; a sister, Julie Rose of Van Buren; a brother, Greg Rose of Dora; maternal grandfather, Ray Johnson of Dora; and paternal grandmother, Bernice Rose of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be David and Daniel Stogsdill, Allen and Bryan Newell, Josh Johnson, Barry Mason and Robert Jones.

K.A. Kiefer
PARIS — K.A. Kiefer, 73, of Paris died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, in Fayetteville. He was a retired as a automobile paint and body workman and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris with burial at St. Joseph cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes; three daughters, Candia Etzkorn of Subiaco, Sherry Hughes of Paris and Tina Honomichl of Fayetteville; three sons, James, Kenneth and Raymond Kiefer, all of Paris; two sisters, Wilma Baltz of Paris and Katherine Baltz of Pocahontas; 28 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matt, Bruce, Andy, Mike and Jonathan Kiefer and Paul Etzkorn.

Sharon Rader
WALDRON — Sharon G. Rader, 38, of Waldron died Friday, Jan. 28, in Waldron. She was born Feb. 14, 1966, in Des Plaines, Ill. She was a homemaker.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date. The body was cremated.
She is survived by her husband, William; her father and stepmother, William and Kay Burke of Jupiter, Fla.; and two sisters, Barbara Burke of Waldron and Mary Burke of Columbus, N.C.

Arval Barnett
MOUNTAINBURG — Arval L. Barnett, 82, of Mountainburg died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a member of the Fern Assembly of God Church and was retired from the Burlington Railroad. He was the widower of Brunette Barnett.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Locke cemetery near Mountainburg.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Knight of Lincoln and Shirley Flanary of Mountainburg; a sister, Zell Dyer of Alma; a brother, Winfred Barnett of Humbolt, Kan.; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth and Charles Flanary and John, Steven, Rusty and Kenneth Barnett.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.

Rosalie Townsend
BOONEVILLE — Rosalie Townsend, 75, of Booneville died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was a Pentecostal minister for more than 30 years and was a member of Lakeview Pentecostal Church in Booneville. She was the widow of Charles Townsend.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Lakeview Pentecostal Church in Booneville with burial at Sugar Grove cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by four sons, Charles, Rickie and Thomas Townsend, all of Booneville, and Johnny Townsend of Cedarville; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jo and Arliss Hood, Jerry Travis, Derral Schlinker, Lynn Weaver and Mike Fauchs.
The body may be viewed from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Melva Helton
PARIS — Melva Jean Helton, 53, of Paris died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in Paris. She was a retired factory worker.
Cremation will be under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by her husband, J.W.; a daughter, Shannon Daugherty of Booneville; two sons, Billy Wilkins of Booneville and James Helton Jr. of Magazine; a sister, Lois Adair of Booneville; two brothers, Homer and Merl Wilkins of Booneville; and eight grandchildren.

James Brown
LA PUENTE, CALIF. — James Robert Brown, 56, of La Puente died Jan. 22, 2005, in his home. He was born Nov. 26, 1948, in Clarksville. He was a graduate of La Puente High School, a Vietnam War veteran and a member of the California Pigeon Shooting Club, the National Skeet Shooting Association and the American Trap Shooting Association. He retired as a truck driver for La Puente Ready Mix after 31 years of service.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Liberty Hill cemetery in Hunt.
He is survived by a brother, Jerry Brown of La Puente.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Esther Davenport
Esther Marie Davenport, 87, of Fort Smith died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in a local hospital. She was born April 25, 1917, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She was a retired employee of Rheem Manufacturing and was of the Lutheran faith. She was the widow of James Davenport.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Brad Davenport of Greenwood and Brent Davenport of Parker, Colo.; a sister, Frances Schuett of Rock Rapids, Iowa; and three grandchildren.

Josie Villanueva
Josie Villanueva, 53, of Fort Smith died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 4, 1951, in McAllen, Texas. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Ione Baptist Church in Ione under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. The body was cremated.
She is survived by her husband, Urbano; three sons, Albert, Tony and Carlos Villanueva, all of Fort Smith; her mother, Noemi Woodard of Ione; three sisters, Janie Ramirez of Greenville, Texas, Delia Turner of Ione and Robert Ferreiro of San Antonio, Texas; and two grandchildren.
