Graveside service will be at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. The time and date are pending.
He is survived by his fiancee, Lisa Trowbridge; a son, Bobby Bullington Jr. of Fort Smith; his father, Bobby Gene Bullington of Fort Smith; and three sisters, Norma Franklin and Teresa Harrington, both of Fort Smith, and Gwen Kremers of Van Buren.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Verna Stewart Estes
Verna Stewart Estes died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and was retired from Tankersley Brothers Packing Co. She was a member of West-Ark Church of Christ, American Association of Retired Persons and Crawford County Senior Citizens Club. She loved God, her family, music, babies and telling stories that made others laugh. She was a strong, determined woman with great patience and much artistic ability. She taught her children to worship God, to work hard, to help others and that “families stay together.”
She is survived by her husband and best friend Richard; her children by birth, a son, Harold Stewart and his wife Sharon of Fort Smith; a daughter, Jackie Hamilton and her husband Gary of Fort Smith; her daughter by choice, Mayrene Nelms of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Debbie Gresham of Sugarland, Texas, Shawn Hamilton of Fayetteville and Sherri Jordan, John Stewart, Lori Haynes and Shea Hamilton, all of Fort Smith; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Hoffman and Lorene Wann, both of Fort Smith; a brother, Paul Moore of Paris; and two sister-in-law, Charlene Dicks and Lorene Parker, both of Fort Smith. Her extended family includes Tommy Estes of Springdale, Richard Estes of Fort Smith and Dinah McCarty of Olive Branch, Miss.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Van Buren with burial at Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville beside her first love, Chester Stewart, who preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Shea and Shawn Hamilton, John Stewart, Ray Jordan, Jimmy Haynes, Danny Gresham and Wayne Nelms.

James Henry Gober
James Henry Gober, 73, of Ozark died Friday, June 22, 2001, in a Little Rock hospital. He was a supervisor for Diamond Shamrock, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Star City to John Henry Gober and Maude Monroe Gober.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Brother Virgil Luke officiating with burial at Highland cemetery in Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and James Pelton of Ozark and Sandy and Kevin Hall of Boise City, Idaho; three sons, James and daughter-in-law Valerie Gober of Ozark, Chuck Jones of Crossville, Tenn., and Ricky Jones of Springdale; two brothers, Dee Gober of Ozark and Monroe Gober of Altus; six grandchildren, two step-granchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lillian Celestial “Sugar” Harrison, 83, of Fort Smith died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in a local hospital. She was retired from the Social Security Administration, a member of the First Methodist Church since 1938, a charter member of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, Methodist Nursing Home Board, Project Compassion, R.S.V.P., Harmony Chapter No. 455 Order of the Eastern Star and a charter member of the Historical Society of United Methodist Church Fort Smith District.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Roebuck Chapel with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 631&Mac218;2 years, F. Jean Harrison; a daughter, Rebecca Harrison Rather and her husband John of Little Rock; a son, Richard Harrison and his wife Marciadean of Burleson, Texas; a half-sister, Ruby Williams of Buna, Texas; two sisters-in law, Louise Bridges of Odessa, Texas, and Katherine Harrison of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Nicole Rather Brocksieck and her husband Kevin of Oceanside, Calif., Melissa Rather Darr and her husband Robert of Little Rock, Rad D. Harrison of Dallas and Doug Karrenbrock of Houston; and six great-grandchildren.

Kenneth “Kenny” Dean Hendrix
Kenneth “Kenny” Dean Hendrix, 46, of Central City departed this life Friday, June 22, 2001, in Hot Springs. He was born Sept. 3, 1954, in Charleston, the son of Lester and Audie Martin Hendrix. He was the owner of Doc’s Body Shop and a member of Central Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by father, Lester Doc Hendrix.
He is survived by his life mate, Tammy Williams of the home; a daughter, Lucinda Hendrix of Fort Smith; his mother, Audie Hendrix of Lavaca; a sister, Linda Rambo of Lavaca; two brothers, twin Cliff Hendrix of Central City and Ricky Hendrix of Columbia, Mo.; a half brother, Kenneth Earl Hendrix of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today in Central Freewill Baptist Church in Central City with burial at Mayberry cemetery in Central City under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Lavaca. The Rev. Randy Moore and the Rev. Raymond Chronister will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Ken Bowman, Lonnie Hurt, Delbert Hicks, Chan Holcombe, Marvin Travis, Tim Moon and J.R. Jones.
Stephen Eric Thomas
Stephen Eric Thomas, 46, of Ionia, Mich., formerly of East Jordan, Mich., died Friday, June 22, 2001, in a Grand Rapids, Mich., hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1954, in Charlevoix, Mich., to S. Daniel and Diana Beishlag Thomas. He attended school in the Flint, Mich., area until high school, then graduated from East Jordan High School in 1972. He did his undergraduate work at Michigan State University and Lake Superior State University, graduating with honors from the latter in 1978. He did his graduate work in computer systems theory at Iowa State University.
On May 27, 1979, he married
Linda Vest, formerly of Fort Smith, in Ames, Iowa.
He started his career as a computer programmer at Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Okla. His next position was at Shopko Stores, Inc., in Green Bay Wisconsin as a systems analyst. He ended his career at Keane, Inc., as the senior systems consultant at the Grand Rapids branch of the firm.
He had abiding interest in history and politics and was an officer in the Ionia County Libertarian Party. He enjoyed boating, camping and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed anything related to trains.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of East Jordan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; his father, S. Daniel Thomas of East Jordan; his mother-in-law, Opal Vest of Fort Smith; two brothers, Brian and his wife Teresa and Kevin and his wife Karen, all of East Jordan; a sister, Anita Pentecost of East Jordan; his grandmother, Lorna Beishland of Exst Jordan; and ten nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Dee Thomas; his paternal grandparents, Gabriel and his wife Rea Thomas; and his maternal grandfather, Everett Beishlag.

Berenice Walker
Berenice Walker, 85, of Fort Smith entered into rest Friday, June 22, 2001, in Cameron, Mo. She was born April 10, 1916, in Fort Smith, the daughter of the late Bernard and Myrtle Stonecipher Jackson. Berenice was a homemaker, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a graduate of Fort Smith High School. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Henry; one daughter, Becky Walker of Fort Worth, Texas; three sons, Steve Walker of Cameron, Ed Walker of Fayetteville and Randy Walker of Newtown, Conn.; one sister, Beatrice Young of Fort Smith; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today, June 25, 2001, at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith, officiated by the Rev. Charles Whedbee. Pallbearers will be Ed, Steve, Randy and Blake E. Frances “Nanny” Yeager
Frances “Nanny” Yeager, 86, of Van Buren died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren and was active in Sunday school class. Frances also did volunteer work for City Heights Elementary School. She loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn “Kakie” Deffenbaugh of Van Buren; two sons, Ernie Yeager of Jasper and Ed Yeager of Van Buren; two sisters, Sophie Crawford of Springdale and Polly Davis of Great Falls, Mont.; six grandchildren, Deborah Clark, Karen Windsor, both of Fort Smith, April Simmons of Van Buren, Matthew Deffenbaugh of Farmington, Ernie Yeager III and Charles Yeager, both of Jasper; and six great-grandchildren. Frances is preceded in death by her husband, William Earnest “Boog” Yeager.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.

Tommie Jean Word, 53, of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, in her home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a service provider.

Johnie H. “Buck” Smithson, 79, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, in Fort Smith. He was born Aug. 26, 1925, in Lavaca. He was a member of Lavaca Methodist Church, and an Army veteran of World War II; he was retired from Rheem, a retired farmer, a member of VFW and the widower of Evelyn Smithson.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Lavaca with burial at Oak Valley cemetery in Lavaca.
He is survived by a daughter, Nina Price of Fort Smith; three sons, Howard Smithson of Lavaca, Leonard Smithson of Fort Smith, and Wesley Smithson of Rogers; three sisters, Vivian Pence and Genell Graham, both of Lavaca, and Gwen Britton of Charleston; a brother, Joe Smithson of Lavaca; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

ALGIERS, Algeria — Bahdja Bouchefa Raache, 86, of Algiers, Algeria, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, in Algeria.
Burial was in Algeria.
She is survived by a daughter, T. Ourahmoune; four sons, Taieb and Mouloud Raache, both of Algiers, and Yazid and Mohammed Raache, both of Fort Smith; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

BOONEVILLE — Dessie Corene Hooper, 82, of Booneville died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, near Magazine. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville and the Order of Eastern Star, and the widow of Carl Hooper.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Booneville with burial at Paintrock cemetery near Paris under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Krigbaum of Magazine; two sons, Mithchell Hooper of Wichita, Kan., and Darrell Hooper of Booneville; his mother, Winnie Fairbanks; three sisters, Mazie Phillips and Mogie Hawkins, both of Paris, and Wilma Rice of Van Buren; two brothers, Bethel and Billy Fairbanks, both of Magazine; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
