CLARKSVILLE — James Walter Henson Jr., 70, of Clarksville died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, in his home. He was born March 15, 1934, in Hunt. He was a graduate of Clarksville High School and attended University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and College of the Ozarks. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and the Cattleman Association, and was retired from Master Lock Co.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with burial at Liberty Hill cemetery in Hunt under the direction of Hardwicked Funeral Home of Clarksville.
Rosary will be 5 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with visitation to follow.
He is survived by his wife, Harlene; two sons, James Henson III of North Little Rock and Clint Henson of Hot Springs; and four grandchildren.

Ethel Hamilton
Ethel Mae Hamilton, 72, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, in a local nursing home. She was born July 13, 1932, in Peno, Okla. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist church and the Women’s Missionary Society, past chairman of the Dorcas Circle, and was retired from Whirlpool Corp.
Graveside service will be noon Wednesday at Laird cemetery in Pocola under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Hamilton of Chicago, Betty Kimble and Patricia Hamilton, both of Fort Smith; three sons, John, Larry and Marvin Hamilton, all of Fort Smith; two sisters, Mary Avery of Omaha, Neb., and Oretha Brewer of Fort Smith; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mary Jane Mosley
Mary Jane Mosley, 80, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Fort Smith, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, in Fort Worth. She was born March 18, 1924, in Mulberry. She was a loving mother and a giving person always helping someone in need. She will be missed dearly. Her husband, James O. Mosley, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with entombment in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Pallbearers will be James Mosley Jr., Ron Ramon, Jim Acord and Jack Acord.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Cline of Lawton, Okla., and Diane Ramon of Fort Worth; two sons, Bobby Mosley of Oklahoma City and James Mosley Jr. of Fort Worth; two sisters, Helen Toombs of Lawton and Lydia Acord of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren, Joe M. Aboulhosn II of Fort Worth, Najat Blalack of Tyler, Texas, John E. Cline of Oklahoma City, Crystal Wood of Lawton, Shelly Cline of Lawton, Christopher Mosley of Lawton, Adam Wipf of Oklahoma City and Shane Smith of Lawton; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends at the funeral home today from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Jim W. Oliver
Jim W. Oliver, 61, of Greenwood died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a well known businessman, founder and president of Arkansas Star Salsa, and retired from many years in the floor-covering business. Jim was a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church, a 32nd degree Mason, a member and Worshipful Master of Greenwood Lodge No. 131 F&AM, a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 197, and a veteran of the Arkansas Air National Guard. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at the Greenwood United Methodist Church with burial at Liberty cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Oliver of the home; one son, Rich Hightower and wife Kathy of Escondido, Calif.; one brother, Don Oliver and wife Rhonda of Greenwood; one sister, Judy Stephens and husband Troy of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Jackson and Riley Hightower; three brothers-in-law, D.H., Gordon and Larry McCain, all of Mulberry; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Emma Jo Oliver.
Pallbearers will be Jonathon McCain, Chris McCain, Mack McCain, Sam McCain, Brandon George and Ep Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Greenwood Lodge No. 131 F&AM.

Sam Weeden, 45, of Alma died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, in his home. He was a fishing guide for Elliots Party Boats in Freeport, Texas, a U.S. Air Force veteran; he was active in the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and was also a Weather Watcher for Channel 5 News. He is preceded in death by his son, Anthony Weeden.
He is survived by his wife, Vanesia of the home; his parents, Beth and Al Weeden of Alma; a sister, Kathy Rice of Alma; two brothers, Ned Weeden of Alma and Jeff Weeden of Cullman, Ala.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Newberry cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Bernice Bodine
Bernice Bodine, 74, of Alma died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, in a local nursing home. She was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Gainesville, Mo. She was a retired employee of O.K. Foods and a member of Fort Smith Christian Center.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice Bogner of Fort Smith; a son, Donny Bodine of Fort Smith; six sisters, Opal Tanner of Lincoln, Juanita Key of Van Buren, Ruby Roberts of Alma, Mary Vaughn of Gentryville, Ind., Jean Richmond of New Castle, Okla., and Sue Kear of Melbourne, Fla.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Stanley, Ronnie and Dewain Key and James Harold Tanner.
June Louise Adler
June Louise Adler, 92, of Fort Smith, formerly of Deerfield Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, with her son at her side. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She was born in Lansing, Mich., on Aug. 22, 1912, to Gertrude Levering and Rollin Nichols. June had the great fortune of a second dad, Alvin Cooley. She also had a brother, Ralph Nichols of Neptune, N.J., who died in 2000.
Sept. 30, 2004, she celebrated her 71st wedding anniversary to Orville Adler, who survives her. They were married
in Lansing, Mich., and moved to Niles, Mich., where their sons were born. June spent her entire married
life making a warm and loving home for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; sister-in-law, Vivian Adler Crawford; and beloved granddaughter, Stefani Jean Adler.
The memory of June will go on in the lives of those who survive her: husband, Orville Adler of Fort Smith; son, Jerry and his wife Jackie Adler of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; son, Richard and his wife Judy Adler of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Cary Adler, Jeff Adler, Alyssa Adler Watson, Richard Joshua Adler; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Butterfield Retirement Center, 8420 Phoenix Ave. in Fort Smith.
A private memorial service will be held by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pauline Marie Campbell
Pauline Marie Campbell, 84, of Fort Smith entered into rest Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born June 14, 1920, in Columbus, Ga., the daughter of the late John and Georgia Poindexter. Pauline was a retired cafeteria worker for Kimmons High School, a member of South 46th Street Church of Christ and the widow of the late A.G. Campbell; preceded in death by a son, Bobby Campbell; sister, Kathleen Campbell; two brothers, James R. Poindexter and John Poindexter.
She is survived by one son, Larry Campbell of Edmond, Okla.; daughter, Joyce Thompson of Stigler, Okla.; nine grandchildren, James David Thompson of Kinta, Okla., Karla Thompson of Eufaula, Okla., Benjamin Thompson of Talihina, Leigh Anne Kniess of Whitefield, Okla., Sonny Thompson of Stigler, Jimmy Thompson of Stigler, Larry Campbell Jr. of Van Buren, Laura Borgman of Nashville, Tenn., Alan Campbell of Fort Myers, Fla.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith. Pallbearers will be David and Ben Thompson, Larry Wayne and Jimmy Campbell, Tim Bowen and Edward Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Bowen, Nelson Wakefield, John Grace, Tommy Bowen, John Kersey, Walter Carter, Harold Watts, Bill Pharis and Gary Bowen. Jo Nell Newman
Jo Nell Newman, age 84, of Joplin, Mo., passed away at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at her home after a four-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jo Nell was born April 8, 1920, in Drakesboro, Ky., to Joseph and Sarah Vick. She married
John Scheig of Erie, Pa., on Dec. 1, 1938. This union ended in divorce after 23 years of marriage. She married
Delwin R. Newman on Feb. 4, 1966. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2004.
As a military wife, Jo Nell lived in various posts in the United States and Germany. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and was known to never measure anything but the result was always delicious.
Survivors include her son, Gary Scheig and wife Ann of Des Lacs, N.D.; daughters, Carolyn Bradley and husband Mark of Fort Smith, Pamela Mullin and husband Wynn of Racine; seven grandsons; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Missouri Veterans cemetery in Springfield, Mo. David Debow, Thure Scheig, Tristan Scheig, Philip Burkhart, Tyler Burkhart, and Trey Burkhart will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Barrett Lewis. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Park Mortuary Chapel.

Maragaret Belt
Maragaret Belt, 99, of Alma died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, in a local nursing home. She had been an active member of the United Methodist Church of Alma and she was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, and a daughter, Ruth Belt Blaylock.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Dean of Alma and Elizabeth Flanagan of Wilmington, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Simmons cemetery near Dyer under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dana Dean, Darrell Blaylock, Ken Busby, Robert Sheets, Tony James and Justin Hunter.

BAYTOWN, Texas — Charlie Ewell Hignite, 89, of Baytown died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, in his home. He was a bookkeeper and a rancher, a Mason, and a member of National Rifle Association and the Exxon Mobil Retirees Association.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four daughters, Patricia Silvey of Stafford, Texas, Wanda Bourgeois of Knoxville, Tenn., Betty Hignite of Huffman, Texas, and Joyce Thornburgh of Helena, Okla.; a son, Charles Hignite of San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Bessie Langdon of Ozone and Amy Hignite of Hartman; a brother, Floyd Hignite of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Billy Warren Culver, 68, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, in a local hospital. He attended Faith Outreach Center in Fort Smith and was a self-employed paint contractor.

Mary Van Hooser
WESLACO, Texas — Mary Nettie Van Hooser, 91, of Weslaco, Texas, formerly of Mena, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, in Texas. She was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Van Buren. She was an upholsterer of aircraft interiors for Douglas Aircraft; she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as a state officer, as well as the Arkansas State Sweetheart, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hatfield and First Baptist Church in Mena.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Mena with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; a daughter, Betty Woods of Weslaco; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Virginia Gibson
PURVIS, Miss. — Virginia B. Cass Gibson, 82, of Purvis, Miss., formerly of Mansfield, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, in Hattiesburg, Miss. She was a retired dietitian and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Coop Prairie Church with burial at Pleasant Grove No. 2 cemetery near Abbott under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield.
She is survived by a daughter, Norma Love of Purvis; two sons, Kenneth Cass of Lavaca and Carrol Cass of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Eva Lorraine Patton
Eva Lorraine Patton, 49, of Rogers passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, in her home. She was born Feb. 16, 1955, in Bossier, La., to William Charles Howe and Eva Marie Eberhardt Howe. She was employed by Rental Service Corp. of Rogers.
Survivors include her caregiver, Greg Steiner of Rogers; one daughter, Elisha Sherlene Barry of Fort Smith; and three grandchildren, Kaila Barry, Dylan Barry, and Devin Barry.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
