Flora McDaniel

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. -- Flora Marguerite McDaniel, 101, of Apple Valley, formerly of Paragould, died Saturday, Aug. 20, at Apple Valley Care Center.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Heath Funeral Home.

Bobby E. McDowell

BLACK ROCK -- Bobby E. McDowell, 63, of Black Rock died Thursday, Aug. 25, at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

Wesley Morton

HARRISBURG -- Wesley Dale Morton, 52, of Harrisburg died Thursday, Aug. 25, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born in Indiana, he was a machine operator for Parker Hannifin in Trumann for the past six years, and he served in the Marines in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Sharlan Morton; four sons, Donald Mibb and William Mibb, both of Harrisburg, Dennis Mibb of Virginia, Ill., and Richard Mibb of South Bend, Ind.; his mother, Dorothy Morton of Harrisburg; a brother, Ronald Morton of Atlanta; four sisters, Linda Pemberton of Atlanta, Mary Lenhardt of Youngstown, Ohio, Brenda Larson of Neosho, Mo., and Barbara Pemberton of Harrisburg; and four grandchildren, Curtis Mibb, Erica Mibb, Blake Mibb and Alyssa Mibb.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date, with Weston Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Mary Pannell

OSCEOLA -- Mary Catherine Pannell, 51, of Osceola died Wednesday, Aug. 24, at NEA Medical Center.

Born at Osceola, she was a homemaker and attended Church of Christ in Keiser.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy Pannell; a son, Buddy Pannel of Osceola; two daughters, Tina Pannell and Jamie Page, both of Marie; four sisters, Michelle Barnes of Memphis and Gloria Scrivner, Judy Barnes and Anita Boone, all of Osceola; and eight grandchildren, Braden Smith, Brittney Hunt, Kelsey Cook, Jonathon Fore, Jared Pannell, Courtney Pannell, Kyley Page and Gavon Page.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Barnes and Nelda Stovall Barnes.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola, with the Rev. Tom Doty and the Rev. James Chipman officiating. Burial will follow in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ferman Rogers

MEMPHIS -- Ferman Rogers, 78, of Memphis, formerly of Luxora, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Mempis.

He was a retired post office inspector, a member of Inglewood Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He graduated from Arkansas State University and taught in the Luxora public school system for five years. He was an ordained Baptist minister and had served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Evelyn Martin Rogers; two brothers, James Rogers of Knoxville, Tenn., and Henry Rogers of Fairborn, Ohio; three sisters, Ruth Evelyn Sarafi of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Geraldine Ailing and Fanny Lane Gainer, both of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruby Oldham Rogers.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville, with the Rev. Dolan Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Euna Smith

SIDNEY -- Euna Smith, 91, of Sidney died Wednesday, Aug. 24, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

She worked at Sharp Nursing Home for many years, was a past member of the Eastern Star and a longtime member of Concord Baptist Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Smith; three brothers, Fred Fleetwood, Guy Fleetwood and Ray Fleetwood; and three sisters, Ola Fleetwood, Ruby Fleetwood and Tina Fleetwood.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, with Alvin Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery at Sidney, under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William 'Elbert' Smith

MARMADUKE -- William "Elbert" Smith, 70, of Marmaduke died Wednesday, Aug. 24, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born at Marmaduke, Smith was an Army veteran and a retired security guard.

Survivors include three brothers, Leon Smith of Marmaduke, Dewayne Smith of Paragould and Kevin Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; five sisters, Joy Ressler of Carmel, Ind., Judy Dennis of Jonesboro, Ind., Shela Weesner of Cicero, Ind., Wanda Thompson of Somerset, Ky., and Melonie Smelser of Lafe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ettar Smith; and two brothers, Wesley Smith and Odell Smith.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould, with Rodney Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in New Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Weesner, Shane Smith, Rick Smelser, Nathaniel Pohl, Dewayne Smith and Rodney Dennis.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Pat Talmadge Watson

PARAGOULD -- Pat Talmadge Watson, 75, formerly of Paragould, died Thursday, Aug. 25, at Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn.

An Army veteran of the Korean War, Watson was born at Lepanto. He was a retired construction worker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Craig Watson of Searcy; a daughter, Karen Farley of Steele, Mo., two granddaughters, Rachel Cooper and Chelesa Waston; and three grandsons, Luke Cooper, Chandler Watson and Samuel Watson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.T. and Flora Watson, a brother and two sisters.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Liberty Cemetery, with Tim Howard officiating. Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of arrangements.

The procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

No visitation is scheduled.

Bill Westmoreland

SIDNEY -- Bill Westmoreland, 89, of Sidney died Tuesday, Aug. 23, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

He was a farmer and a member of Sidney Baptist Church, where he was senior deacon for 52 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Sipe Westmoreland; a daughter, Carolyn Green of Sidney; two sons, Arch Westmoreland of Sidney and Lynn Westmoreland of Cave City; a sister, Maxine Spooner of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren, Cindy Garrison of Thayer, Mo., Dustin Westmoreland and Seth Westmoreland, both of Cave City, and Steven Green, Randy Green, Dusty Westmoreland, Chrysti Turner and Russell Westmoreland, all of Sidney; and 14 great-grandhildren.

Funeral services were Thursday at Sidney Baptist Church, with Alvin Wiles officiating. Burial followed in Mount Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Wendell Turner and Brent Harrison.

Honorary pallbearers included the deacons of Sidney Baptist Church, Jack Helm, Junior Runsick, Dean Smith, Kenneth Brown, Roy Mynatt, Delmus Caraway and Hubert Rush.

Charles Westmoreland

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Charles Ervin Westmoreland, 65, of Colorado Springs died Sunday, Aug. 21, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.

A 21-year veteran of the Army, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a business manager for the Army-Air Force Food Service Division while serving in the National Guard. He was also a Mason and a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Gisela Westmoreland; a son, Morris Westmoreland of Las Vegas; two brothers, Fred Westmoreland of Jonesboro and Curtis Westmoreland of Searcy; and a sister, Loraine Bickerstaff of Caldwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcel and Lola Bryant Westmoreland.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne. Burial will follow in Crittenden Memorial Park Cemtery at Marion.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
