Kenneth Daniel
Kenneth Daniel, 70, of Ozark died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, in a Little Rock hospital. He was an Air Force veteran of the 
Korean War, a 1952 graduate of Alma High School, and was a former resident of the Graphic Community.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Pope cemetery near Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by a son, Lyle Daniel of Alma; and a sister, Geraldine Brody of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be W.R. Teague, Junior Plum, Leon Bottoms, Earl Wilkerson, Roy Raines and Jim Ogilvie.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Osborne, Wesley Warnock, Bob Brody and Gary Farmer.
There will be no public viewing.
Eliza Medrick
Eliza Medrick, 92, of Fort Smith passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 20, 2004. She was born July 17, 1912, to Henry and Eva Oliver in Greenwood. Mrs. Medrick was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Dan Medrick. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Teasley (Howard) of Vancouver, B.C., and Roma Goebel (Frank) of Nashville, Tenn. She leaves four loving grandchildren, Paul Goebel of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Craig Goebel of Baltimore, Sarah Teasley of Dartmouth, Mass., and Jill Teasley of Vancouver, B.C. She has one sister, Margaret Wilhite of Fort Smith, and sister-in-law, Dylis Medrick Jenkins of Conway; and she leaves her loving and loyal companion and caregiver, Rita Smith of Muldrow.
Eliza had a wonderful life. Above all she loved her family. They will forever cherish memories of shared times both in Arkansas and on holidays with her family in their homes. It meant so much to her to see her grandchildren grow up and accomplish goals. She was also a very proud aunt of all her nieces and nephews. She was a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
A celebration of her life will be today at 11 a.m. at Oak Cliff Baptist Church, 3701 S. Gary in Fort Smith, with interment at Roselawn cemetery following the service.

Cody Allen Martin
Infant Cody Allen Martin died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was the son of James and Tina Martin of Fort Smith. He is survived by a sister, Jessica Martin of Dover; two brothers, Dillon Mehelich and Johnathan Thompson, both of the home. His paternal grandparents, Steve and Rita Wilson of Arkoma; and maternal grandmother, Sharon Mehelich of Fort Smith.
Services will be today at 5 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at a later time at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Wilson, James Archie, Paul McAlister and Brian Williams.

Adam Taber Humiston
Adam Taber Humiston, 27, of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a construction estimator for Sawatzky Homes in Weatherford, Okla. Adam was a beloved and loyal son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin and nephew who brought joy to those around him. A strong man with a gentle heart and engaging smile, Adam was blessed with many friends and was a champion for the underdog. He had a kind and generous spirit and a true zest for life. He loved his family and friends, the Razorbacks, the Marshall Islands, fishing, and his work.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clint and Rosemary Taber of Russellville; aunt Linda Poneta of East Lansing, Mich.; aunt Pat Morgan of Atlanta; and uncle Denny Michael of Davison, Mich.
Rosary service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Oak cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Kathy Humiston of Fort Smith; one brother, Jeff Humiston and wife Leslie of Little Rock; one nephew, William Humiston of Little Rock; grandparents, Charles and Frances Humiston of Sun City, Arizona; aunts and uncles Clint and Martha Taber of Edwardsville, Ill., Tom and Carol Taber of Augusta, Ga., Ellen Taylor of Atlanta, Steve and Alex Taber of Kenmore, Wash., Peter and Patsy Taber of Fayetteville, Pete and Mary Scovic of Portage, Mich., Susan Starr of Fort Smith, Mike Taber of Hot Springs, Rick Taber of Little Rock, Dave and Noirin Taber of Houston, Robert Taber and John White of Kansas City, Mo., Barb Michael of Davison, Mich., and Jerry and Diane Nugent of Davison, Mich. He is also survived by over 30 cousins.

CLARKSVILLE Joseph Joe Edward Oles Sr., 76, of Clarksville died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, in Clarksville. He was a truck driver and strip pit worker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at West Mount Zion cemetery in Hartman.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine; a son, Joseph Oles Jr. of Clarksville; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

BOONEVILLE Ethel Marie Buffington, 88, of Booneville died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, in Booneville. She was a homemaker, and was of the Assembly of God faith.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; a daughter, Judy Murphy of Prineville, Ore.; and two grandchildren.

COAL HILL Jewell Yates, 83, of Coal Hill died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, in Ozark. She was a homemaker and a member of Coal Hill First Baptist Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and AARP. She was the widow of Eulice Yates.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Coal Hill First Baptist Church with burial at Coal Hill cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by three sisters, Gladys Scott of Monticello, Louise Cromer and Jean Hall, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a brother, J.B. Ogden of Waggoner, Okla.

ALMA Tracey Wayne Carlton, 36, of Alma died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, near Alma. He was born Nov. 4, 1967, in Elcentro, Calif. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ronnie and Belva Freeman of Alma; a sister, Kim Jones of Elcentro, Calif.; a brother, Terry Campbell of Elcentro, Calif.; four stepsisters, Beverly Walkman of Mulberry, Clydean Wood of Van Buren, Melissa Amen and Belinda Taylor, both of Keota; four stepbrothers, Raymond Freeman of Keota, Belva Freeman Jr. of Van Buren, John Freeman of Cedarville, and Gary Freeman of Fort Smith.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Walter Carlos Floyd Sr., 76, of Fayetteville, N.C., formerly of Jefferson County, Texas, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004. He served in the Navy and was a Mason.

Joe Felkner
Joe R. Felkner, 70, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in Little Rock. He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Coweta, Okla. He was a retired welder, of the Christian faith, an Arcadia Lake Park Ranger in Edmund, a former deputy sheriff in Oklahoma City, a general manager of Brown Jordan Furniture Manufacturing, and a member of the VFW, American Legion and Christian Business Fellowship.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood cemetery in Porter, Okla., under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Kathy Cade of Ridgecrest, Calif., Joye Messerli of Lewisville, Texas, and Sandra Felkner of Van Buren; two sons, Scott Salley of Flagstaff, Ariz., and George Salley of Tahlequah, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Leathel Baxter
Leathel Lillian Baxter, 96, of Van Buren died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, in a nursing home. She was born March 23, 1908, in Mulberry. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Angelo Cescaline
STORY Angelo F. Cescaline, 88, of Story died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004. He was born Oct. 5, 1915, in Livingstown, Ill. He was a veteran of World War II, worked as a pipefitter-boilermaker for the Local Union No. 597 Pipe Fitters Association in Chicago for 30 years, and was owner of Highway 27 Fishing Village on Lake Ouachita.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Catholic Church in Mount Ida with burial at Reed cemetery under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a son, Ronald Cescaline; a sister, Elizabeth Pellegrini; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Watts, Brown Plummer, Bobby Henderson, James Blackburn, Roger Dye and Loyal Abernathy.
Honorary pallbearers will include all his friends from Highway 27 Fishing Village.

Etta Lee Tackett, 65, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Pocola. She was a manager of The Thrift Shop and a member of Northside United Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Northside United Pentecostal Church with burial at Macedonia cemetery in Pocola under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond; four daughters, Cindy Vanzant of Cabot, Judy Eatmon of Greenwood, Angie Lamb and Sheila Powell, both of Fort Smith; a son, Randy Tackett of Fort Smith; four sisters, Edna Lowery of Pocola, Juanita Polk, Linda Holloway and Jane Hope, all of Fort Smith; two brothers, Edward and Charles Tucker, both of Pocola; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He is survived by a sister, Lena Lowe of the home; and two brothers, Noble and William Lowe, both of the home.
