Beverly Palmer Davis
Beverly Palmer Davis, 67, left this earth on Monday, March 29, 2004. She was born in New York City and moved with her parents to Fort Smith in 1945. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Capola Bourland Palmer and Archer Kay (Skeeter) Palmer.
Beverly attended Fort Smith public schools, Barstow Preparatory School in Kansas City, Mo., and Westark Junior College. She served on the board of Sparks Guild, Fort Smith Symphony, administrative board First United Methodist Church, and was part of the Stephen’s Ministry, master gardener club, and sang in the Chancel Choir of First United Methodist Church.
She leaves behind husband, Carl Davis; a daughter, Debra Kay New of Bakersfield, Calif., Michelle Lynn Mitchell of Fayetteville; sons, Robert Bruce Mitchell of Denver, Michael Drew Mitchell of Fort Smith, Mark Lewis Mitchell of San Antonio and Richard Grant Mitchell of Boulder, Colo. She also left grandchildren, Lt. Jason Mitchell USMC, Stephanie Mitchell, Kaitlin and Meghan Mitchell, Sean and Leigh Mitchell, Brandon New, Morgan Mitchell, Alex and Cade Burnham, and stepdaughter, Emily Davis, and stepgranddaughter, Autumn West.
Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Friday, April 2, 2004, at 11 a.m. There will be a private family burial at Forest Park cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bruce, Mitchell, Mike Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Rick Mitchell, and Jason Mitchell.

Newton S. Davis
Newton S. Davis, 83 of Booneville was born July 6, 1920, in Paris. He passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2004, in Fort Smith.
He was a truck driver and cattle rancher and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Booneville, the Arkansas Cattleman’s Association and the Logan County Cattleman’s Association. He was a veteran of World War II where he received three Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Medal, and European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Theater Medal. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ellen Burnett.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church in Booneville with burial at Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville with 
military honors under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy of the home; a daughter, Jackie Jobe of Geneseo, Ill.; three sons, James Newton Davis of Orem, Utah, Jerry Lee Davis of Branson, Mo., and John Davis of Fort Smith; two sisters, Lillian Rice of Paris and Lila Ezell of Paris; two brothers, Kent Davis of Hayward, Calif., and Kenneth Davis of Camden; grandchildren, Mike, Bridget, Brandon, Sean, Stephen, Christa, Danielle, Janelle, Weston, Anthony, Adam, Grant, Brett, Drew, Joey and Josh; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Roberts Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Sean Davis, Stephen Jobe, Anthony Davis, Adam Jobe, Grant Jobe, Brett Davis, Drew Davis, Shane Rhinehart, Josh Davis, Mike Burnett, Joe Burnett, Brandon Burnett, Joe Burnett and Weston Davis.
Ada Roose
Ada Roose, 89, of Fort Smith passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was retired from Riverside Furniture and a member of West-Ark Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by husbands, Claude Hart and Harlan Roose.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Hart of Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be held Friday, April 2, 2004, at 3 p.m. at Roselawn cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Pogue, Wayne Means, Trey Pogue, Toby Pogue, Troy Pogue and Rick Tinder.

Andrew J. Strobel, 85, of Subiaco died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, in Subiaco of natural causes. He was a dairy and cattle farmer, a veteran of World War II, and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Catherine Eckart Strobel; a sister, Barbara Fredrich and brothers, Abe and Bill Strobel.
Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2004 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco with burial at St. Benedict cemetery in Subiaco under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Elvera “Eva” (Schneider) Strobel of Subiaco; three daughters, Phyllis Mayo of Scottsville, Texas, Evelyn Strobel of Little Rock and Virginia Strobel of Little Rock; three sons, Ronald Strobel of Little Rock, Walter Strobel of Subiaco, and Joe Strobel of Dallas; three sisters, Cecilia Klaeger of Paris, Frances Palazzi of Little Rock and Dorothy Hansen of Little Rock; a brother, Eugene Strobel of Subiaco; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Richard Huffman
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Richard Huffman, 61, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Fort Smith, died Monday, March 29, 2004. He graduated from Evansville Central High School in 1961. He served in the Army. He worked for Kent Plastics which later became Ball Plastics and was transferred to Fort Smith plant as a tooling supervisor which is known as Alltrista Industrial Plastics after 35 years of service.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Browning Funeral Home in Evansville, Ind. with burial at Oak Hill cemetery in Evansville, Ind.
He is survived by a sister, Katherine Wilhite of Evansville, Ind.; a brother, James Huffman of Evansville, Ind.

David Kamolsiri
HOUSTON — David Vichitr Kamolsiri, 24, of Houston, formerly of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, in the Gulf of Mexico. He was born Dec. 16, 1979, in Ozark. He was a petroleum engineer with Unocal in Houston, was a graduate of Southside High School and Louisiana State University and was a member of Harvest Time Tabernacle.
He is survived by his parents, Vinai and Lesa Kamolsiri of Fort Smith; a sister, Sarah Kamolsiri of Fort Smith; two brothers, Jesse Kamolsiri of Sacramento, Calif., and Mark Kamolsiri of Fayetteville; and his paternal grandmother, Champa Kamolsiri of Bangkok, Thailand.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Harvest Time Tabernacle in Fort Smith with a graveside service at 4 p.m. today at Russell cemetery in Ozone under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Arnold, Sean McArdle, Henry Seawell, Mark Stalder, Reed Tisdal, and Brandon Young.

HOWE — Imogene Jones, 87, of Howe died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in Lindsay, Okla. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Howe, and the widow of Vernon Jones.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Assembly of God in Howe with burial at Howe cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by a daughter, Anna Reeves of Lindsay, Okla.; three sons, Vernon, Clifton and Claude Jones, all of Howe; a sister, Virginia Leeper of Spiro; three brothers, Harland and Marvin Faulkenberry, both of McAlester, Okla., and Eulice Faulkenberry of Jenks, Okla.; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ronald Henry
COVE — Ronald Gerald Henry, 54, of Cove died Monday, March 29, 2004, in California. He was born Feb. 23, 1950, in Paris, Texas. He served in the Army during the Vietname War, was a truck driver for more than 20 years for Vargas Trucking Co., and was of the Baptist faith.
The body was sent for cremation under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Jason and Brian Henry, both of Cove; his mother, Syble Henry of Canton, Texas; two sisters, Diana Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sharon Grinstead of Canton, Texas; two brothers, Gary Henry of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Butch Smallwood of Norman, Okla.; and one grandchild.
Cecilia Kaelin
Cecilia Marie Kaelin, 88, of Fort Smith died Monday, March 29, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church, retired from teaching for the Fort Smith Public Schools and a member of NEA, AEA, and Retired Teachers Association.
Mass will be 9 a.m. today at Saint Boniface Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three sisters, Catherine Coplin and Josephine Honey, both of Fort Smith, and Mary Lane of Fairfield, Calif.; and two brothers, Joseph and Eugene Kaelin, both of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Michael, Kevin, Brian, Gregory, Joseph, Timothy and Peter Kaelin.
Cloma Burleson
OKLAHOMA CITY — Cloma Wise Burleson, 92, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Poteau, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in Poteau. She was born Feb. 29, 1912, in Scott County. She was a homemaker, was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and Trinity Baptist Church in Poteau and was the widow of Edward Wise.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity Baptist Church in Poteau with burial at Monroe cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by three daughters, Helen Glendinning and Sue Fuzzell, both of Oklahoma City, and Dewanda Thompson of Poteau; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Dannie Knauls
Dannie Mae Knauls, 81, of Fort Smith died Thursday, March 25, 2004, in her home. She was a member of Mission Church where she was a member of the Usher Board and Women’s Missionary Society and was a retired cook for St. John’s Senior Citizens Center.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at First Missionary Baptist Church with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by seven daughters, Florine Johnson, Bernice Mounsey, Judy Hogue, Janice Price, Sheila Knauls, Shirley Jordan, all of Fort Smith, and Connie Knauls of Compton, Calif.; six sons, Leroy Triplett, Thomas, Robert and Charles Knauls, and Louis Austin, all of Fort Smith, and Donnie Knauls of Compton, Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy Felton and Mildred Adams, both of Wichita, Kan.; 34 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Brewer, Kevin and Ronald Johnson, Harvey Knauls, Rodney Reese, Quincy Smith and Greylan Williams.

Vera Perdue
SPIRO — Vera Mildred Perdue, 82, of Spiro died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, in Spiro. She was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Sallisaw. She was a graduate of Gans High School, a homemaker, a Protestant and the widow of Willie Perdue.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Brent cemetery south of Sallisaw.
She is survived by three daughters, Irma Ramsey and Ellen Craig, both of Spiro, and Mary Stewart of Sallisaw; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Freddie McCormack
KAUFMAN, Texas — Freddie Joe McCormack, 59, of Kaufman, Texas died Monday, March 29, 2004, in his home. He was born March 26, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas. He worked for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department as a reserve officer and was an investigator for the Seagoville Police Department, and owned his own underground utilities construction company.
Funeral will be held today at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home Chapel in Kaufman, Texas. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Gilead cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service in Mena.
He is survived by two daughters, Melanie Morgan of Mena and Whitney McCormack of Nacogdoches, Texas; a son, Jeffrey McCormack of Mena; a brother, Jimmy McCormack of Seagoville, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

CLARKSVILLE — Jack M. Daniel, 80, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in Clarksville. He was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Lamar. He was a member of Jamestown Assembly of God, the Franklin Lodge No. 9 and Accepted Masons, the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, S.J. USA, Pittsburg No. 362 Free and Accepted Masons, Albert Pike Priory No. 20 Knights of Your Cross of Honour, Trinity Conclave Red Cross of Constantine & Appendant Orders, Holy Grail Tabernacle No. X1 Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, River Valley 049 Royal Arch Masons and F.D. Goza Royal & Select Masters. He received the following awards, Pillars of Soloman Award, Knight of the Royal Arch, officer of AR York Rite College, 32nd-degree Mason, and worshipful Master of Pittsburg Lodge No. 362, was formerly owner of South Park Truck Stop, was past worthy Grand Master of Franklin Lodge No. 9 and Pittsburg Lodge No. 362.

Linda Garrett
Linda Sue Garrett, 52, of Van Buren died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born April 5, 1951, in Fort Knox, Ky. She was a homemaker, and a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy; a daughter, Mindy Eckman of Van Buren; a sister, Barbara Wolf of Fort Smith; two brothers, James Sheren of Little Rock and Johnny Sheren of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren.
