Mary Robertson
CAMERON — Mary L. Robertson, 88, of Cameron died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, in Poteau. She was a lifelong resident of the Poteau area, a member of the First Christian Church in Poteau and a homemaker. She was the widow of Guy “Red” R. Robertson.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Oakland cemetery in Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Verna Ward of Poteau and Erma Crowder of San Jacinto, Calif.; three sons, Lois Carter of Lake Kiowa, Texas, and Roy and Jerry Robertson, both of Cameron; a sister, Cecil Branstetter of Poteau; a brother, Olen Pierce of Cameron; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Gordon Wilson
M. Gordon Wilson Sr., 87, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003. He was born June 1, 1916, in Altus. He served in the Navy and was on the ship West Virginia. He was a member of the Westark Church of Christ. He retired from the Fort Smith Fire Department after 20 years of service, was retired from Prince Drug and was a 50-year member of Belle Point Masonic No. 20, a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite, a member of Amrita Grotto and a member and past Patron of Liberty Chapter No. 402 Order of the Eastern Star.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his companion, Barbara Smith of the home; a daughter, Ann Louise Jones of Cypress, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill and Brian Turner, Tim Smith, Briceon Buker, Arliss Daniels, Kenneth Wilson and Kenneth Chancey.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Howard Robinette
ALTUS — Howard Robinette, 77, of Altus died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, in Altus. He was the retired owner and operator of Robinette Construction and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Houseton cemetery in Altus under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Dollie; two daughters, Joy Boren and Beverly Hutchinson, both of Altus; a son, Bobby Ramsey of Paris; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hutchinson, Larry, Randy, Dustin and Shawn Boren, Greg Tillery and Matthew Long.

Veda Flynn
CHARLESTON — Veda Beason Flynn, 76, of Charleston died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, in her home. She was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Branch and was a member of the Branch Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Branch Assembly of God with burial at Garden of Memories in Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
She is survived by her husband, Waldo; two daughters, Lana Clark and Janie Ureckis, both of Fayetteville; two sons, Michael and Denny Flynn, both of Charleston; two sisters, Iva Mathews of Memphis and Nina Swain of Branch; three brothers, Eugene and Everett Beason, both of Sonora, Calif., and Ethan Beason of Russellville; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dave Ureckis, Tom and Ben Clark, Cody and Keith Flynn and Carroll Swain.

OZARK — Tommie A. Wisdom, 69, of Ozark died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, in an area hospital. She was a retired sales clerk with Montgomery Ward, a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ozark.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Morgan Hill cemetery in Ozark.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; and a daughter, Sue Duncan of Ozark.
Pallbearers will be Robert Trotter, Rayburn Whitson, Scott Jessup, Wayne Davis, Andy Messenger and Dwight Woolsey.

Wilson Rogers
PARIS — Wilson “Deacon” Rogers, 85, of Paris died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, in his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Ozark. He was a deacon and member of the First Baptist Church of Paris and the retired owner and operator of Rogerland Dairy & Rogerland Dairy Farm.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Paris with burial at Oakwood cemetery in Paris under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; a daughter, Mary Bryant of Fort Smith; two sons, Jim Rogers of Paris and David Rogers of Tulsa; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris and Neal Martin, Jeff, David and Daniel Rogers, Brandon and Cody Sing and Johnny Culver.

Warren Wingfield
BARLING — Warren “Wimpy” Wingfield, 79, of Barling died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was born May 23, 1924, in Sebastian County. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, was retired from Mercury Motors and Ryder Truck Lines and was a member of the Barling Volunteer Fire Department and the Barling Senior Citizens. He was of the Second Adventist faith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Steep Hill cemetery south of Fort Smith under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Lilly; and a sister, Mary Miller of Barling.

Shon Kelly Pilkington, 35, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was born Dec. 11, 1967, in Oklahoma City. He worked in installation for Cox Cable Communications and was a graduate of Boise City High School in Boise City, Okla.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Shady Point cemetery in Shady Point under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his mother, Tita Lemings of Datil, N.M.; his father, Dan Pilkington of Poteau; a sister, Julie Spence of Whitesboro, Texas; his maternal grandfather, Dave Monks of Panama; and maternal grandmother, Audra Duncan of Sallisaw.
Darrell Spicer
SCRANTON — Darrell D. Spicer, 77, of Scranton died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, in his home. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 8383 and an Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Scranton with burial at McKendree cemetery in Subiaco under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Selma; a daughter, Darla Bowen of New Blaine; a son, David Spicer of Paris; and four grandchildren.

Doris Weaver Cristee
Our beloved Nanaw went to be with her savior. Doris Weaver Cristee, 79, of Alma died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a retired mechanic at Dixie Cup. She attended 71 Frewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, William Wayne Brown.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Newberry cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Fred “Bub” Christee of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Burt White of Alma; three stepsons, Theo, Doug and Webb Christee, all of Cedarville; a brother, William Warren Licklider of St. James, Mo.; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Gabriel “Gabe” Peters,
Gabriel “Gabe” Peters, 60, of Springdale passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, in Fayetteville. He retired as the director of financial aid at Westark Community College before moving to the Fayetteville area in 1994.
He was a devoted husband and had a great love and respect for the outdoors. He was a fly fishing guide and enjoyed teaching the art of making a good cast. He will be truly missed.
He was a member of the Arkansas Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Tightliners fishing club.
He received his bachelor’s of science in education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville on May 17, 1975, and his master’s of education from the University of Arkansas on May 15, 1976.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Holy Cross cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Chad Warren, Caleb Taylor, Bill Tenison, Ken Richards, Gary Flippin and Bill Thorne.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Peters; two stepsons, Chad Warren and his wife Maggie of Surprise, Ariz., and Caleb Taylor and his wife Jennifer of Kapaa, Hawaii; and two grandchildren, Levi and Hailee Warren of Surprise.

Kyle Evan Smith
Kyle Evan Smith, infant son of Chad and Ginger Smith of Hackett, was born June 27, 2003, and went to rest with God Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at Old Union cemetery in Hackett under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is also survived by one brother, Ty Allen Smith of the home; three sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Amanda and Casandra Davis, all of the home; grandparents, Charles and Mary Smith of Hackett, Randy and Donna Smith of Cameron and Tina Smith of Dibble, Okla.; great-grandparents, Leta Mae Smith of Hackett, Janet Seamans of Greenwood and Wilma and George Folsom of Oklahoma City; godparents, Roy Joe and Martha Moss of Greenwood; uncles, Brandon and Luke Smith, Kevin Moss and Charles Phillips; aunts, Coralie Smith, Jessica Leonard, Ronda Christenberry and Christie Phillips; cousins, Corie and Skyler Seabolt; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronnie Christenberry of Keota, Okla.; great-grandfathers, James T. Smith of Hackett and Truman Seamans of Greenwood; and great grandparents, Lena Faye and Lowell D. Smith.

Al Sullivan
Al Sullivan, 52, formerly of Van Buren, was laid to rest in Las Vegas on Sept. 2, 2003. Al was born on Oct. 17, 1950, in Alexandria, La. Al grew up in North Long Beach, Calif., graduated from David Starr Jordon High School and attended Victor Valley College in Victorville, Calif. Al worked as an assistant control operator for Nevada Power & Light at Clark Station in Henderson, Nev. Al also had lived in Van Buren and was employed by WELSCO in Fort Smith. Al leaves his wife, Brenda; and two sons, Derek and Aaron. Al is survived by both his parents, Fred Sullivan and Mary Sullivan of New Blaine; and a brother, Barry Sullivan of Van Buren. Al was preceded in death by his sister, Sheri, and most recently older brother, Fred “Fast Freddy” Sullivan Jr.
Services were held Sept. 2, 2003, at Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas. Burial was held Sept. 6, 2003, at Palm Valley View cemetery in Las Vegas.
Nora Adell Ward
Nora Adell Ward, 73, of Fort Smith passed from this life to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, in her home. She was a devoted wife, wonderful homemaker and beloved mother and grandmother. Her last moments on earth were shared with her husband, children and surviving sisters by her side. She was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Magazine. Nora is survived by her husband, Odell “Bud” Ward; two sons, Ray Ward and Mike Ward, both of Fort Smith; four daughters, Betty Teague of Alma, Linda Wilkinson of Mulberry, Shirley Bruner of Mesquite, Texas and Romona Buergler of Fort Smith; two sisters, Virgie Romero of San Leandro, Calif., and Johnnie Sue McClure of Charleston; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Roy Barnes.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Steve and Andy Rauser, James and Eric Albertson, Tommy and Nelson Mays.
