Stella McKenzie
Stella G. McKenzie, 86, of Fort Smith died Monday, June 7, 2004, in her home. She was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Fort Smith. She was a retired bookkeeper for Elaine School of Dance, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary, and the widow of Lonnie McKenzie Jr.
Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Baker of Greenwood; a son, Richard McKenzie of Tulsa; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Virl Brewer, 55, of Fort Smith died Friday, June 4, 2004, in a local hospital. He was a member of King Solomon Baptist Church and an employee of Whirlpool Corp.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Saint James Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Washington cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by three daughters, Andrea Merriwether, Tara and Tori Brewer, all of Fort Smith; a son, Virl Brewer of Fort Smith; and seven grandchildren.

KEOTA — Delmar T. Davidson, 94, of Keota died Sunday, June 6, 2004. He was a retired teacher, farmer and rancher. He was a member of Star Baptist Church in Star, Okla., the Masons, the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association and a former member of Keota Lion’s Club.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Star Baptist Church in Star, Okla. with burial at Keota cemetery under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Kay Robertson of Keota; a sister, Ena Parker of Oakland, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Roy Eugene Cain
Roy Eugene Cain, 61, of Van Buren died Sunday, June, 6, 2004, in his home. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran of the Vietname War, a member of Jubilee Christian Church and also preached and served food to the homeless under the Fort Smith bridge.

military honors will be 10 a.m. today at Sarah Grove cemetery in Cedarville under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Cain of the home; four daughters, Edna Gail Kilgore, Kathy Reynolds and Sherry Turpin, all of Van Buren, and Marcy Bell of Alma; two sons, Danny Cain and Ricky Cain, both of Van Buren; two sisters, Barbara Ellison of Lawton, Okla., and Elizabeth Newman of Cordell, Okla.; two brothers, Talmage Cain of Texas and Donald Cain of Oklahoma; and 16 grandchildren.

Lois West Batchelor
Lois West Batchelor, 88, of Van Buren died Sunday, June 6, 2004, in a local hospital. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and a retired office manager for Rhodes Chevrolet in Van Buren. She was the widow of Lonnie Batchelor and was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Scott Davenport; her parents, two sisters and three brothers; and her first husband, Warren West.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Hoffman and her husband, Bill, of Fort Smith and Rebecca Davenport of Loganville, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Phyllis Abadie of Springtown, Texas; a son, Phillip West and his wife, Charyn, of Fort Smith; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Delmar T. Davidson
Delmar T. Davidson, 94, of Keota, Okla., died Sunday, June 6, 2004, in family’s home. He was a retired teacher, farmer and rancher. He was a member of Star Baptist Church in Star, Okla. He was a member of the Masons and a former member of the Keota Lion’s Club. He was a member of the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association.

Lawrence William Bowen
Lawrence William Bowen was born at Blackfork on Jan. 6, 1924, and passed away on Monday, June 7, 2004, at the age of 80 years, five months and one day.
He married
Marybel Scott of Hicks, Okla., on Jan. 10, 1947, in San Diego and remained her loving husband for 57 years.
Lawrence accepted Jesus as his Savior at Blackfork and was baptized at Highland Avenue Baptist Church in National City, Calif., on Jan. 5, 1947.
Lawrence joined the CCC’s in June of 1940 and remained a member until he joined the U.S. Navy in 1941. He served his country for 24 years and retired in 1965 as a master chief.
He worked as a painter for several years, then did custom hay cutting and baling hay as long as his health permitted. His hobby was raising cattle.
Lawrence joined the Big Creek Baptist Church by letter in 1965 and served as treasurer for a couple of years. He moved his membership to the Hontubby Baptist Church in 1973 and served as the Adult Men’s Sunday school teacher. He later moved his membership back to the Big Creek Baptist Church.
Songs for his service include, “Heaven’s Jubilee,” “I’ll Have A New Life” and “Land Where Waters Flow,” all in four-part harmony.
Preachers for the service are Joe Hayden Hall and Lynn Phillips.
Survivors: his wife, Marybel Scott Bowen of the home; a daughter, Sharon Gail Cox of Sperry, Okla.; grandson, Joel Keith Cox and wife, Tracie Lea, of Greenwood; great-grandson, Connor Joseph and great-granddaughter, Cathleen Michelle, all of Greenwood; sister, Nancy Janway and husband, Charlie, of Heavener; brothers, Marvin Morrison and wife, Geneva, of Heavener, J.D. Morrison and wife, Ruby, of Hawk Point, Mo., Emmitt Morrison and wife, Betty, of Hawk Point, Mo., James Morrison and wife, Bobbie, of Heavener, Billy Morrison and wife, Brenda, of Bluffton, Texas, and Kenneth Morrison and wife, Brenda, of Heavener; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, loved ones and many beloved friends.
Lawrence William Bowen was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Joseph Bowen; his parents, Jess Bowen and Luie Campbell Bowen Morrison; and his stepfather, Cecil Morrison, the only father Lawrence knew from the age of 4. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Edward Bowen, J.B. Bowen, Keith Morrison, Jesse Morrison, Donald Morrison; and sister, Matilda Morrison.

SUMMERFIELD, Okla. — Linda Kay Loyd, 53, of Summerfield, Okla., died Friday, June 4, 2004, in Poteau. She was born May 20, 1951, in Chanute, Kan. She was a typesetter and graphic artist.
Funeral was held Tuesday at Summerfield Church of Christ with burial at Summerfield cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley; a daughter, Regina Loyd of Summerfield; two sons, Erik McGee of Cameron and Eugene Loyd of Charleston; a sister, Nancy Conrad of Las Vegas; a brother, Steven Beck of Harrisburg, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
