John Norman Dutch Bogner
John Norman Dutch Bogner, 71, of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, May 30, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith and a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. He worked at Harding Glass for many years and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Freda Bogner, and one brother, Ralph Bogner.
Rosary service will be 7 p.m. today at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Anne Bogner Bell and her husband Col. Robert Bell of Las Vegas and Laura Bogner of Fort Smith; one son, John Bogner of Fort Smith; and one brother, Harold Bogner and his wife Frances of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Bogner Jr., Mike, Bruce, David and Chris Bogner, Jason Hetherington and Jeff and Ronnie Testa.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Bogner, Bill and Jimmy Sharum, Bill Slater, Gilbert Koch, Bob Carson, Arthur Hall, Jim Jenkins and Carl Wise.

Ramona L. Thomas
Ramona L. Thomas, 72, of Van Buren died Sunday, May 30, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1931, in Mansfield. She was a retired employee of Ward’s Furniture, a former employee of Fondren Construction and a member of Living Word Church in Van Buren.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Hacker and husband Tom of Van Buren; one son, Larry McDaniel and wife Tammy of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Kimberly Rodriguez, Chris Hacker and Travis, Trent and Lindsay McDaniel; and four great-grandchildren, T.J. Rodriguez and Robert R., Bradley and Reanna Hacker.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Living Word Church, 1445 Clyde Cate Road, Van Buren, AR 72956.

Lillie Morgan Jones
Lillie Morgan Jones, 100, of Fort Smith died Friday, May 28, 2004, in a Greenwood nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of Wheeler Church of Christ.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Clarks Chapel cemetery in Greenwood.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Truett Swaim.
Pallbearers will be Mark Clayton, John Swaim, Ben Sanchez, J.D. Frost, Craig Avis and Blaine Marek.

Minnie Downs
SPIRO — Minnie Howell Downs, 95, of Spiro, formerly of Crawford County, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in a local hospital. She was the retired manager of David’s Pie Shop in Fort Smith and the widow of G.W. Downs.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Sarah Grove cemetery in Figure Five Community.
She is survived by a daughter, June Ramsey of Van Buren; a son, Dale Downs of Spiro; three sisters, Ruth Smith of Fresno, Calif., Rue Jones of Van Buren and Cecil Scott of Clovis, Calif.; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Reta Fogo
MENA — Reta Margaret Fogo, 86, of Mena, formerly of Phoenix, died Monday, May 31, 2004, in an area hospital. She was born April 4, 1918, in Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada. She was a retired keypunch operator in the finance department of the State of Arizona with 35 years of service. She was a member of the Church of God in Phoenix and the widow of William Fogo.
A memorial service will be announced later in Phoenix. The body was sent for cremation under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Fogo of Menominee, Wis., and Paula Worth of Mena; a son, William C. Fogo of Phoenix; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Sarah Bissell
Sarah J. Bissell, 91, of Fort Smith died Sunday, May 30, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Ballard of Fort Smith; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ricardo and Michael Yelez, Eric Wald and Gerald Tunnell.

Gaylen Boggs
BOONEVILLE — Gaylen Winfield Boggs, 76, of Booneville died Sunday, May 30, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a mechanic and an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Graveside service will be noon Wednesday at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
He is survived by seven daughters, Lynne Coleman of Marion, Judy Hart and Julie Jones, both of Fort Smith, Laura Wald of Van Buren, Michelle Boggs of Lavaca, Kimberly Boggs and Valerie Welch, both of Greenwood; three sons, Wayne, John and Bruce Boggs, all of Booneville; stepmother, Alleine Boggs of Dover; three half sisters, Earlene Yarborough of Dover, Cindy Miller of Rusellville and Cathy Storment of Ola; a half brother, James Boggs of Dover; 35 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Carl Jameson
PARKS — Carl Bird Jameson, 80, of Parks died Monday, May 31, 2004, in a Waldron hospital. He was a farmer, a member of Parks Methodist Church and a Mason. He was the widower of Geneva Jameson.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parks Methodist Church with burial at Jameson-Thompson cemetery in Parks under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by a son, John Jameson of Parks; and a grandchild, Whit Jameson.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Hill, Harlon Hawkins, Herman Holleman, Charles Jameson, Jack Nix and Dougie White.
The body may be viewed from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dahlia Lambert
HOT SPRINGS — Dahlia T. Lambert, 91, of Hot Springs, formerly of Mena, died Monday, May 31, 2004, in a Hot Springs nursing home. She was born Dec. 3, 1912, in Shawmut. She owned and operated a taxi cab service and a cafe. She worked at Rephans Department Store in Mena and the Lyric Theater and Drive-In in Mena. She was the widow of Sam Lambert.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeri Goodner of Hot Springs; a son, George Gatliff of Malvern; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Research Foundation.

Helen Bridges
Helen L. Bridges, 83, of Fort Smith died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a retired interior decorator for Bridges Realty, a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she served in Altar Guild, and a past member of Beta Sigma Phi, Order of the Eastern Star and Junior League. She was the widow of Shanon D. Bridges.
Commital service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean Fleming of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 5401 Free Ferry Road, Fort Smith, AR 72903.

Sam Scarborough Jr.
Sam Scarborough Jr., 72, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in a local hospital. He was an employee of Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and an Army veteran.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Victory Christian Center with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; five daughters, Samantha Scarborough-Brown of Brighton, Tenn., Mattie Roberts of Midwest City, Okla., and Tina Price, Tracy McDade and Angela Madison, all of Fort Smith; three sons, Johnny Roberts and James Madison, both of Fort Smith, and David Richardson Jr. of Hayes, Kan.; four sisters, Nellie Shade of Oklahoma City, Maxine Birch of Tulsa, and Florene Scarborough and Rosie Jones, both of Vian; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Hightower, Jimmy Smith, Cornelius Dixon and Darrin, Donald and Anthony Scarborough.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market Store, No. 4744.
The family will visit with friends at 622 N. 47th St.

Marilyn Cheline
CAMERON — Marilyn Cheline, 74, of Cameron died Friday, May 28, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cameron and Home and Community Educators.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Cameron under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; a daughter, Peggy Jo Hansel of Cameron; a son, Bruce Cheline of Mondovi, Wis.; a twin brother, Ray Swanson of Aledo, Ill., a sister, Neva Keese of Aledo; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Euna Laneer
CLARKSVILLE — Euna Mae Laneer, 89, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 30, 2004, in her home. She was born May 11, 1915, in the Spring Hill community. She was a graduate of Hartman High School. She had been a member for 39 years of Landmark Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for 20 years, and she worked in Vacation Bible School. She was director of Family Dinners for several years, past director of Research Visitation Program, past president of Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Ladies Prayer Group.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.
She is survived by her husband, Luke; a son, Ted Laneer of Clarksville; a sister, Jolene Wall of Branson, Mo.; and five brothers, George and Harley Domerese, both of Clarksville, Dean Domerese of Branson, Clarence Domerese of Van Buren and Dane Domerese of Coal Hill.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Hilda Jean Watkins
Hilda Jean Watkins, 79, of Van Buren went to be with her Lord Friday, May 28, 2004. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She had numerous friends she enjoyed so much. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, the Red Hat Society and the Van Buren Garden Gate Club. She was a charter member of the Crawford County Democratic Association and the Arkansas Federation of Democratic Women’s Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Eugene Watkins.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Sparkman and her husband, Darral, of Van Buren; two sisters, Myra Rowe and Meryle Riggs, both of Van Buren; a brother, Jerry Williams and his wife, Donna, of Van Buren; a granddaughter, Tiffiny Marshall and her husband, Heath, of Van Buren; a great-grandson, Case Eugene Marshall of Van Buren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gary Watkins, Terry Watkins, Mickey Watkins, Travis Watkins, Jay Williams and Terry Cockrum.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Red Hat Society and the Van Buren Garden Gate Club.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, 700 Jefferson St. in Van Buren.

Bruce W. Bishop
Bruce W. Bishop, 52, of Panama died Friday, May 28, 2004. He was a carpenter, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fort Smith, a Navy veteran of the Vietname War and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Memorial graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Pierce Bishop; his mother, Bobbie Bishop England of Arkoma; two brothers, Harold M. Bishop of Raceland, La., and Brian L. Bishop of Arkoma; a stepsister and stepbrother, Anita and Dwayne Ahrens, both of Russellville; five nephews and three nieces.
