MOUNT IDA — Linda Sue Thompson, 61, of Mount Ida, formerly of Texas, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Hot Springs. She was born Oct. 9, 1941, in Mena. She was a graduate of University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science, was first female computer programmer employed by General Dynamic Aerospace Corp. in Fort Worth, Texas, after 33 years of service was a senior systems computer analyst for Lockheed Martin in charge of IPB System Programming Support group, and was a member of Mount Ida Church of Christ and secretary for Mount Ida Lion’s Club.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Mena with burial at Pleasant Grove cemetery.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Thompson of Mount Ida; and a brother, Terry Thompson of Mount Ida.
Jesse Woods
SALLISAW — Jesse James “Jess” Woods, 85, of Sallisaw died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Sallisaw. He was born May 23, 1918, in Prices Chapel community. He was retired from Oklahoma State Highway Department after 26 years and a member of Brush Holiness Church near Sallisaw.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Brush Holiness Church with burial at Brush cemetery north of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Opal; two daughters, Delois Woods of the home and Sharon Fargo of Sallisaw; a sister, Cora Ogden of Bowling Green, Ky.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Shropshire, Archie Risenhoover, Randy Dickinson, Dwight Davis, Eric Talbot and Jerry Rogers.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home.

BLACKGUM COMMUNITY — Ruth Estella Flanagan, 73, of Blackgum community died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Fort Gibson, Okla. She was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Blackgum community. She was retired from Safeway Store in Wichita, Kan., after 25 years and was a Baptist.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Blackgum First Baptist Church north of Vian with burial at Box cemetery north of Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her former husband, Howard of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter, Carolyn Campean of Fort Gibson, Okla.; a son, Jerry Flanagan of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Mona Ritter of Vian and Glenda Summerlin of Tulsa; four brothers, Vernon Davis of Edmond, Okla., Harold Davis of Wichita, Kan., Jimmy and Thomas Davis Jr., both of Vian; and three grandchildren.
Helen Bomer
LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. — Helen Bomer, 81, of Lake Elsinore, Calif., died Saturday, June 21, 2003, in Lake Elsinore. She was a retired cook and a homemaker.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Roberts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial at Oak Hill cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Noble; a daughter, Peggy Blanks of California; a son, Noble Bomer of California; three sisters, Marie Wilson, Joyce Hitchcock and Virginia Helton; four brothers, Jody, Billy, Freddie and Mickey Raggio; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

PAGE — Gail Molholt, 59, of Page died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Poteau. She was owner and operator of Molholt Wrecker Service and a member of Page Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with burial at Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by a daughter, Esther Baxter of Page; two sons, Bobby Molholt of Heavener and Raymond Molholt of Page; a brother, Larry Faulkenberry of Hontubby; and four grandchildren.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Mary Lou Brown, 72, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Howe, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Oklahoma City. She was a cafeteria worker and of the Methodist faith. She was the widow of Ray Brown.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with burial at Howe cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Allen and Sheila Henry, both of Oklahoma City, and Sherry Heflin of Heavener; three sons, Freddie Bennett of Panama, Mike Brown of Moore, Okla., and Stephen Brown of Monticello, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

HEAVENER — C.B. “Mack” McCoy, 92, of Heavener died Thursday, June 26, 2003, in Poteau. He was a retired carman for the K.C.S. Railroad, a member of First Baptist Church, the Eastern Star and a 50-year member of the Heavener Masonic Lodge.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with burial at Memorial Park in Heavener.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; two daughters, Gloria Madden of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Kay Sullivan of Poteau; a son, George McCoy of Clifton, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Garlon Ming Sr.
HARTMAN — Garlon W. Ming Sr., 80, of Hartman died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Clarksville. He was born July 17, 1922, in Paris. He was a ranch manager for Ranch Sierra Vista, a Baptist, a member of VFW and Disabled American Veterans Association, the California Citrus Advisory Board and Johnson County Quilter Guild, took part in the atomic test in Bikini Islands.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Bethlehem cemetery in Hartman.
He is survived by his wife, Mona; six sons, David and Garlon Ming Jr., both of Hartman, Merl Ming of Grants Pass, Ore., Bruce Ming of Gainesville, Ga., Bill Ming of Sacramento, Calif., and Paul Ming of Hartville, Mo.; three sisters, Neomi Bearden of Ozark, Evelyn Smith of Stockton, Mo., and Patsy Joubert of Mulberry; four brothers, Clifford Ming of Denton, Texas, Jack Ming of Bossier City, La., Clarence Ming of Booneville and Raymond Ming of Santa Paula, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Cora Edith Aunt Bob Bideler, 92, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a member of the Assembly of God, a homemaker and the widow of Dave Bideler.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God in Paris with burial at McVay cemetery in Carbon City under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by six daughters, Bobbie Rice of Wichita, Kan., Janie Rogers of Paris, Ann Pettigrew of Fort Smith, Billie Riley of Muldrow, Susie Parnell of Fort Smith and Shannon Robertson of Roland; three sons, Dave Bideler of Weatherford, Texas, Jerry and Ronnie Bideler, both of Bonham, Texas; 35 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Smith
Marjorie M. Smith, 25, of Fort Smith died Saturday, June 21, 2003, in a local hospital. She was a member of House of Prayer and Praise.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Washington cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a son, Jyrin Smith of Fort Smith; nine sisters, Amella, Michelle, Carleen and Rachel Smith, all of Fort Smith, Ella, Brenda and Tameka Moss, all of Pine Bluff, Blanche Black and Ayeshia Smith, both of Phoenix; and seven brothers, Luis Mardiatu, Odell, Clyde, Carlos, Charles, Sam and William Smith, all of Fort Smith.

John Mills
John MIlls, 36, of Texas died Monday, June 23, 2003. He was born July 15, 1966. He enlisted in the Army and was the rank of private first class, worked for Union of Elevators Local No. 21, with Tolar Elevator Co. and Schindler Elevator Co. and was Fujitec Elevator Co.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Keota cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his mother and father, Henry and Johnnie Mills of Bokoshe; a sister, Vicki Adams of Hurst; and a brother, Henry Mills III of Justin, Texas.

SAPULPA, Okla. — Yvonne Sommer, 65, of Sapulpa, Okla., died Wednesday, June 25, 2003. She was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Sapulpa, Okla.
She is survived by her husband, W.E.; a daughter, Patty Hanna of Sapulpa, Okla.; two sons, Gary and Donald Sommer, both of Sapulpa, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
Marie Pierson
Marie Pierson, 83, of Paris, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, in Paris of natural causes. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God. Her parents, John and Lillie Jones Ferguson, and her husband, Ralph Pierson, preceded her in death.
Funeral was 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004, in Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at Rankin cemetery in Russellville.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara King of Charleston and Shelby Street and Donna Highfield, both of Paris; a brother, Eddie Ferguson of Mississippi; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lillian Irene Clinard
Lillian Irene Clinard, 86, of Central City was born April 8, 1918, in Barling. She went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 18, 2004, in Charleston. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church of Greenwood. Irene was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be remembered for her warm hospitality, quick smiles and a laugh that invited everyone to share in her joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pearl Smith; two husbands, Charles Oliver Decker and Joseph Glen Clinard; two sisters, Jewel Durham and Mildred Gregory; one brother, Glenn Smith; two sons, Bobby Glen Decker and Nelson Decker; and one daughter, Virginia Magnuson.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris Neihouse of Central City and Pat Friedline of Austin; two sons, Connie Clinard and Fred Clinard, both of Central City; 27 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Central Freewill Baptist Church in Central City with burial at Barling cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

Dr. Prentiss E. Ware
Dr. Prentiss E. Ware, 88, of Fort Smith, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, having served as chairman of the administrative board and in many other areas. He was an oral surgeon and had practiced in Fort Smith 46 years prior to retirement in 1987.
He was a member of the Fort Smith Dental Association, Arkansas Dental Association, American Dental Association, Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and other professional organizations.
He had served as president of the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and president of the University of Missouri School of Dentistry Alumni Association and was selected “Alumnus of the Year” in 1981. He served five years on the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners.
He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater and was awarded four combat service stars. He was discharged from active duty in 1946 with the rank of major.
He was a member of the Noon Exchange Club, the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce and the Men’s Bible Study at First United Methodist Church.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with a private family burial at Roselawn cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; two daughters, Carolyn and husband Wes Phillips of Tulsa, and Janelle Ware of Tulsa; two sons, Gaylon Ware and wife Maureen of Little Rock, and Byron Ware of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Ashley and husband Chandler Scott of Fort Worth, Texas, Kevin Ware at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Katie Ware at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La.; three great-grandchildren, Braden and twins, Devan and Ethan Scott of Fort Worth; a sister, Esther Coker of Fort Smith; and a sister-in-law, Jane Ware of Greenwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Gleaners Class of First United Methodist Church and the Men’s Bible Study at First United Methodist Church.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
