Frank White

JONESBORO -- Frank White, 80, of Jonesboro died Sunday, May 29, at his residence.

Born at Caraway, he was a retired truck driver and a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, a 32nd degree Mason and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth O. White of Jonesboro; and two granddaughters, Sydney White and Tamara White.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora White.

Funeral services will be private. Langford-Bookout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Walnut Street Baptist Church Children's Wing, 1910 Scenic Drive, Jonesboro 72401.

Verna May Bateman

RECTOR -- Verna May Bateman, 88, of Rector died Saturday, June 4, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center of Paragould.

A longtime Rector resident, she was a homemaker and member of Boydsville Baptist Church and Rector First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Tony Bateman of Memphis; two daughters, Reba Young of St. Louis and Verla Parsons of Southaven, Miss.; one brother, D.W. Hughes of Phoenix; two sisters, Ozela Haynes of Emerson and Emma Greer of Gresham, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Bateman; one son, Travis Lester Bateman; two daughters, Veda Lou Bateman and Frances Page; her parents, Joseph Hughes and Mattie Massey Hughes; one brother; and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Monday at Rector First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ardell Polk officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Height Cemetery under the direction of Irby Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Keith Young, Ben Young, Josh Young, David Parsons, Rick Jackson, Wesley Page, Travis Bateman, Cody Bateman, Denny Fears, Nathan Fears, Clay Fears and Chris Thompson.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jerry Bishop

BAY -- Jerry Bishop, 46, of Bay died Saturday, June 4, at his residence.

A native and former resident of Trumann, he lived at Bay for 19 years. He was employed as a welder at Bilco, and was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Kirkland Bishop of the home; one son, Jason Bishop of the home; one daughter, Melissa Bishop of the home; his father, William "W.C." Bishop of Trumann; two brothers, Jimmy Bishop of Trumann and Larry Bishop of Bay; and one grandson, Dylan Ray Bishop of Bay.

He was preceded in death by is mother, Helen Wiley Bishop.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Holly Springs Cemetery at Harrisburg, with Bill Wiley officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Active pallbearers will be James Evans, Jerry Whittsett, Danny Guthrie, Ralph Guthrie, David Nelson and Rick Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will include Eddie Wilson Sr., Eddie Wilson Jr., Lee Jackson, Tommy Kirkland, Timmy Kirkland and Drew Kimery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dawn Chandler Bulone

CORDOVA, Tenn. -- Dawn Chandler Bulone, 42, of Cordova died Thursday, June 2, at St. Francis Hospital of Memphis.

Born at Memphis, she was the director of advancement services for the University of Memphis, former senior researcher for ALSAC (St. Jude Children's Research Hospital) and a member of Church of the Holy Communion Episcopal Church of Memphis. She was also president of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement and was founder of the Tennessee chapter.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Bulone of the home; one son, Michael Daniel Bulone of the home; one sister, Pamela Chandler Taylor of Memphis; two brothers, Robert L. Chandler Jr. of Pocahontas and Christopher Mills Chandler of Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel, with the Rev. Reynolds Cheney officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Memphis.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at Memphis.

Jerry Houston Henry

WAIPAHU, Hawaii -- Graveside services for Jerry Houston Henry, 64, of Waipahu, formerly of Monette, died Monday, May 30, at St. Francis Medical Center West in Hawaii, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Monette Cemetery.

The Rev. Jerry Reed will officiate and burial will be under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Born at Black Oak, he lived in Hawaii for the last 20 years. He was a retired chief petty officer in the Navy and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include three sisters, Nancy Ogle and Carolyn Hart, both of Blytheville, and Lavonda Davis of Duncanville, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Houston and Verna Jane Henry, and one brother.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Vera Lucile Jarrett

JONESBORO -- Vera Lucile Jarrett, 87, of Jonesboro died Thursday, June 2, at Skilcare Nursing Center.

Born at Poplar Bluff, Mo., she was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. She was a bookkeeper in her family's farming and cotton gin operations, a credit manager at Sears and was a licensed Realtor in Arkansas.

Survivors include her husband, Leo Jarrett of the home, and two sons, Jan Jarrett of Ponca City, Okla., and Charles Jarrett of Chattanooga, Tenn.

Burial will be private under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 614 South Church St., Jonesboro 72401.

Rosella Annette Jennings

PARAGOULD -- Rosella Annette Jennings, 96, of Paragould died Friday, June 3, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

Born in Thief River Falls, Minn., she was a homemaker and a Lutheran.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene Kammen of Hillsdale, Ill., and Robert Kammen of Paragould; one daughter, Kathleen "Katy" Jackson of Paragould; 14 grandchildren, Linda Treece, Mike Robinson, Lisa Huffstutler, Ray Gibson and Janet Reeves, all of Paragould, Gene Robson of Cape Coral, Fla., Jeff Kammen of Victoria, Minn., Jerry Kammen of Casper, Wyo., Suzanne Roll of Murietta, Calif., Scott Kammen, Gene Kammen, Robin Kammen, Heather Morris and Jimmy Morris, all of Illinois; and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Jennings; her parents, Gunder and Annette Marie Pederson; seven brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Mitchell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery at Greenbush, Minn.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Chester Juhas

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. -- Chester Juhas, 82, of Dearborn Heights, formerly of Trumann, died Thursday, June 2, at Dearborn Heights Nursing Home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Marietta Caplinger Sutton

WEINER -- Funeral services for Marietta Caplinger Sutton, 85, of Weiner, who died Thursday, June 2, at Newport Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today at Langford-Bookout Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

The Rev. John Chance and Emmitt Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Weiner.

Active pallbearers will be Tommy Sitzer, David Schwarz, Terry Snow, Jared Russell, Don Riley and Randy Wooten.

Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Randall Hunt and Stacey Bright.

Memorials may be made to the Weiner Fire Department, or Northeast Arkansas Funeral Directors Scholarship Fund, 2617 Primrose St., Jonesboro 72401-4565.
