Junior P. Ritter, 52, of Fort Smith died Monday, May 6, 2002. He was a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church, the Temple Masonic Lodge No. 755 F&AM and Order of the Eastern Star Liberty Chapter.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Elizabeth Hall cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; two sons, Justin and Jonathan Ritter of Fort Smith; five sisters, Elma Thompson and Patsy Womack, both of Barling, Twyna McDaniels of Fort Smith, Patricia Williams of Olton, Texas, and Jeannie Wiliams of Blackfork; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Iva Mecom
SPIRO — Iva Mae Mecom, 72, of Spiro died Monday, May 6, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Earlsboro, Okla. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at New Life Assembly of God in Panama with burial at New Hope cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; three sons, Larry Gene Guinn of Shady Point, Donald A. Guinn of Keota and Roger Wayne Guinn of Pocola; a stepdaughter, Carol Jeane Mecom of Spiro; a stepson, Robert L. Mecom of Keota; three sisters, Mildred Copeland of Panama, Darlene Shacklford of Cameron and Gertie Lee Hill of Poteau; a brother, Cecil Embrey of Wagoner, Okla.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Robert Elam
OZARK — Robert Earl Elam, 56, of Ozark died Sunday, May 5, 2002, in his home. He was born Feb. 14, 1946, in Altus. He was a self-employed furniture builder and a member of Church of Christ.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Nichols Chapel cemetery in Altus.
He is survived by two sons, Greg Elam of Mesa, Ariz., and David Elam of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; his mother, Venny Elam of Ozark; three sisters, Sandra Walker of Etna, Nancy Pool of Altus and Virginia Walker of Ozark; two brothers, Carlos and Ray Elam, both of Ozark; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bob Pool, Allen Thomas, Stephen Wheeler, Wesley Kenney, Ronnie Walker, Mike Elam and Jerry McKee.
The body will lie in state at the home of Ray Elam, 4248 Arkansas 64 East of Ozark until noon Wednesday.

Coy Whitson
ALMA — Coy Whitson, 67, of Alma died Sunday, May 5, 2002, in Little Rock. He was born Feb. 6, 1935, in Ozark. He was retired after 21 years of service as sergeant first class in the Army and a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He attended Trinity Baptist Church in Alma and was retired from Shipley Baking Company.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church in Alma with burial at New cemetery in Mulberry with full 
military honors under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Gaila; a daughter, Dana Gwen Spahn of Greenwood; two sons, Guy Raymond of Alma and Mark Russell of Little Rock; three sisters, Melva Harris of Ozark, Anna Jackson of Mulberry and Paulette Booth of Fort Smith; three brothers, Glenn and Dennis Whitson Jr., both of Mulberry, and Bob Whitson of Ozark; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be deacons at Trinity Baptist Church in Alma, Bill and Dick Douglas, Elton and Ricky Whitlow, Jim Bob Hall and Ollie Rowell.
The body may be viewed 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

STIGLER — Martha Kemp, 78, of Stigler died Monday, May 6, 2002, in Spiro. She was the widow of Vannie Kemp.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel of Spiro with burial at Keota cemetery in Keota.
She is survived by two daughters, Bernice Beyer of Bernice, Okla., and Joyce Turner of Bokoshe; three sisters, Georgia Speegle of Stigler, Marie Johnson of Porterville, Calif., and Bonnie Hart of Ridgecrest, Calif.; a brother, Louis Brand of McDonough, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be J.D. and John Phillips, Gary and Larry Carver, Jim Lyons and Doyle McElroy.

WARSAW, Mo. — Charlie Ernest McBride, 71, of Warsaw, Mo., died Friday, May 3, 2002, in Warsaw. He was a truck driver for Yellow Freight.

PANAMA — Thomas Michael Goyette, 51, of Panama died Monday, May 6, 2002, in Panama. He was born Sept. 3, 1950, in Pittsfield, Mass. He was a postal worker.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; a sister, Joanne Sottille; three brothers, Raymond, Ronnie and Jim Goyette.

NOWATA, Okla — Tom Hurst, 50, of Nowata, Okla., formerly of Stigler, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, in Nowata.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Sans Bois cemetery in Kinta.
He is survived by his wife, Terri; a daughter, Trisha Hurst of Mounds, Okla.; his father, Claudy Hurst of Stigler; two brothers, David Hurst of Mounds, Okla., and Mickey Hurst of Stigler.
Pallbearers will be Stoney, Smokey, Marty, Darren, Adam, Nick and David Hurst Jr.
Stephenie Lynn Morrison
Stephenie Lynn Morrison, 36, of Waldron passed away Sunday, May 5, 2002, in a Waldron hospital. She was born Aug. 1, 1965, in Merced, Calif. She was a former employee of Tyson Foods, involved with the Sebastian County and Scott County American Cancer Society Relay For Life and attended Boles Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Stephens.
Stephenie is survived by her husband, Anthony and a son Stephen, both of the home; a son and daughter, Samuel and Samantha Lott, both of Mojave Valley, Ariz.; her father, Gerald Stephens of Merced, Calif.; three sisters, Stacey Lenington and Sherene Riggs, both of Muldrow and Summer Grammer of Bentonville. Other survivors include, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, A.G. and Joann Morrison of Waldron; three nieces and 10 nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with the Rev. Pat Ray Biggs and the Rev. Charles Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant cemetery near Waldron. Serving pallbearers will be Monty Lenington, Justin Riggs, Mark Grammer, Greg Morrison, Stacy McKay and Von Cass. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Ridenhour, Johnny Riddle and Brad Evans. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
Gerald L. DeLung
Gerald L. DeLung, 75, of Fort Smith died Sunday, May 5, 2002. He was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Huntington, W. Va. and was the only child of Ronald DeLung and Bessie Atkins DeLung.
Mr. DeLung attended public schools in Huntington and Marshall College of the same city. He served in the Pacific Theater of Operation during World War II. Following occupation duty in Yokohama, Japan, he received his law degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and served as president of the Tennessee Chapter. He also served in the Judge Advocate Corps during the
Korean War. Following graduation from law school, Mr. DeLung was a deputy prosecuting attorney in West Virginia and later served as a landman and attorney for numerous oil companies including Gulf Oil Company, Samadan Oil Company and Humble Oil Company. He was a member of the law firm of Warner, Smith & Harris, PLC from 1966 until his death. He served as a director of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, president of the Fort Smith Association of Petroleum Landmen and co-chairman of the Arkansas Oil & Gas Institute. He was a member of the Sebastian County and American Bar Associations. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Mr. DeLung is survived by his wife, Marcia of the home; two sons, Brian Gerald DeLung and wife, Rosie of Fort Smith and Kevin Matthew DeLung and wife, Jamie of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Gregory and Lynde DeLung of Fort Smith and Collin DeLung of Greenwood.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jack Shields, Clyde Goins, Pete Peterson, Dick Sias, David Cordell and Gregory DeLung. Honorary pallbearers will be attorneys with Warner, Smith & Harris Law firm. He is survived by his wife, Joy Stevens the mother of his children; two daughters, Jeanne Carney of Rudy and Kathy Stuart of Mesa, Ariz.; two sons, David Stevens of Van Buren and Greg Stevens of Arkansas; four sisters, Goldie Williams, Norma Jean Wilkins, Barbara Jean Phelan and Marilyn Kay Parsons, all of Fort Smith; two brothers, C.L. “Buster” Stevens of Levelland, Texas and James “Sonny” Stevens of Van Buren; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Bill Pigg, 68, of Fort Smith died Saturday, May 4, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a veteran of the Air Force having served 22 years of active duty, was retired from Gould Battery and an active member of the Donald W. Reynolds Cancer House Support group.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by three sisters, Wanda Whittaker of Fort Smith, Linda Bishop of Harrodsburg, Ky. and Carol Shepard of Alma; three nieces and three nephews; two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Roy Eugene McFarland Sr.
Roy Eugene McFarland Sr., 80, of Fort Smith died Saturday, May 4, 2002, in his home. He was a retired business manager for Armbruster-Stageway. He was a life long resident of Fort Smith and a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, a Army veteran of World War II, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Arkansas Bowling Hall of Fame, past president of the Fort Smith Bowling Association and a charter member of the Road Hogs. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws, Roy and Susie McFarland Jr. of Hutchinson, Kan., John and Kim McFarland and James McFarland, all of Fort Smith; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Thurman Frame of Fort Smith; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Cecil Hensley
KEOTA, Okla. — Cecil Hensley, 94, of Keota died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, in Keota. He graduated from Keota High School and Northeastern State University and taught at Hisaw Bottom, Rock Ford, Star, Jingles Mountain, Red Hill and Keota schools in Oklahoma for 43 years. He served on the Haskell Hospital Board from 1977 to 1984 and was a member of Keota First Baptist Church and Keota Lions Club in early years.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Keota with burial at Old Cache cemetery in Keota under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; two sons, Felix Hensley of Ponca City, Okla., and Vecoe Hensley of McAlester, Okla.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Roberson, Floyd Avery, Mike Coble, Glenn Patterson, Perry Falconer and Wayne Wingo.

GREENWOOD — Ruth Helen Spearman, 76, of Greenwood died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in her home. She was retired from Baldor Electric Co.

She is survived by her husband, Alburnard “Lucky” Spearman; four daughters, Shirley Strozier of Greenwood, Barbara Pittman of Hackett, Helen Morgan of Lakeland, Fla., and Donita Brockel of Cabot; a son, Carl Spearman of Hackett; two sisters, Dorothy Cook of Santa Maria, Calif., and Jackie Mitchell of Rio Linda, Calif.; five brothers, R.L. Kuykendall of Jacksonville, N.C., Everett Kuykendall of Chandler, Texas, Floyd Kuykendall of Altus, Okla., Bobby Kuykendall of Frederick, Okla., and Roy Kuykendall of Denton, Texas; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
