LITTLE ROCK — Rachel House, 90, of Little Rock, formerly of Poteau, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, in North Little Rock. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ and attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Poteau.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Monday in First Free Will Baptist Church in Poteau with burial at Oakland cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by three daughters, Marie Baxter of Shady Point, Reba Rosipal of Little Rock and Marcheta Hughlett of Poteau; three sons, Lonnie House of Nebraska, Burt House of Oregon and Arthur House of Lusburg, Fla.; 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
James Wiginton
ALTUS, Okla. — James Bryce Wiginton, 76, of Altus died Thursday, June 7, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired president of Babcock Brothers Automotive Stores.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Altus with burial at Altus Memorial cemetery under the direction of Tim’s Funeral Home of Altus. Local arrangements by Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; a daughter, Julieann DeMott of Arlington, Texas; two sons, Jim and Michael Wiginton, both of Fort Smith; three brothers, Travis Wiginton of Norman, Okla., and Keith and Edsel Wiginton, both of Altus, Okla.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to charity of donor’s choice.

Thelma L. Kincannon, 89, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a retired realtor and a member of Central Christian Church, and P.E.O. Chapter J, and she received a associates degree from Arkansas Tech.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Larry N. and Barry Kincannon, both of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, David Thomas, Darin, Bart, Christian, Charity and Cassidy Kincannon and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Thomas, Darin, Bart, Christian and Charity Kincannon and Katelyn Thomas.

MOUNTAINBURG — Sean LaRue, 14, of Mountainburg died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a member of Victorious Life Ministries.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Morrison cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his parents, Roger and Melina LaRue of Mountainburg; two sisters, Beth and Karena LaRue of the home; paternal grandmother, Velma LaRue of Alma; maternal grandparents, Walter and Mary McCartney of Pleasanton, Texas; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Trune Ta
Trune Van Ta, 61, of Fort Smith died Thursday, June 7, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a self-employed dental tech and was a member of the Vietnamese Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 6 p.m. today in Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at 2 p.m. Monday at Restland cemetery in Dallas.
He is survived by his wife, Tam Thi Le Ta; six daughters, Hong Ta Nguyen of Dallas, Mai Ta and Dugen Ta, both of Fort Smith, Phuong Ta Oltrogge of Dallas, Huong Ta Park and Dung Ta Dang, both of Little Rock; two sisters, Phi Thi Ta and Tan Thie Ta, both of Vietnam; three brothers, Thanh Van Ta of Houston, Quy Van Ta and Ky Van Ta, both of Vietnam; and one grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Father Neal Brogan
HENRYETTA, Okla. — Father Neal Edward Brogan, 67, of Henryetta died Tuesday, June 5, 2001. He was born Feb. 1, 1934, in Fort Smith. He was ordained as a Catholic priest on May 14, 1966, in Portland, Ore. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He was priest at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Henryetta for eight years.
Wake services will be 7 p.m. Sunday in Shurden Funeral Home Chapel in Henryetta, Okla.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Sunday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith with burial at Calvary cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by a aunt, Margaret Brogan Roy of Kingsland, Texas; six cousins, Donna Peer and Diane Pool, both of Fort Smith, John Boykin Jr. of Austin, Texas, Joseph Boykin of Fort Worth, Texas, Patrick Boykin of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Eileen Herring of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Joseph, James, Patrick and John Boykin Jr., Hamil Williams and Norman Lowe.
Edna Marie “Isam” Sangster
Edna Marie “Isam” Sangster, 81, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in a local hospital. She was retired from Riverside Furniture and was Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Eugene.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by six daughters, Sue Mahar and Dean Murchinson, both of Fort Smith, Evelyn Sangster and Jane Young, both of Van Buren, Jackie Hollis of Lake Charles, La., and Linda Brixey of Greenwood; a stepdaughter, Melba Potts of Federal Way, Wash.; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry and David Crawford, Richard Teague, Tommy Hawkins, Kendall Looper and Greg Vandecar.
Eugene Douglas “Gene” Allen
Eugene Douglas “Gene” Allen, 71, of Salem, Ore., died Monday, June 4, 2001, in Salem, Ore. He was the son of the late John Ancil and Florence Elmore Brewer Allen. He was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Van Buren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Virgil, Robert, Louis and Fred “Billy” Allen, and sisters, Ora and Bonnie Lewis Miller.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Lee Allen of Mulberry; two sisters-in-law, Corrine Allen of Van Buren and Velma Allen of Buxton, Ore.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
August V. Schrempp
August V. Schrempp, 94, a nine-year resident of Ozark, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, in a nursing home in Charleston. He was born in Queens Long Island, N.Y., on March 5, 1907, the son of the late August and Margaret Schrempp. He had belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was a new car dealer and head mechanic in business with his father and late brother John for many years before moving to Pine Bush, N.Y., where he owned and operated a dairy farm. Later he was dispatcher and driver for Marl Bros. Bus Garage in Pine Bush. He served as a town of Crawford assessor for two years.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nora; a daughter, Marion Kessler and husband, Herman of Ozark; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Valerie Fitch, and husband Mark and daughter Caitlin of Fort Smith, Christie Mahl and husband Michael and daughters, Lacy and Jamie of Branch, Sister Mary Palarino OSB of Atchison, Kan., Karl Kessler and wife, Gloria and daughters, Sarah and McKenzie of Pine Bush, N.Y., Kenneth Kessler of Ozark, and Daniel Palarino and wife, Sonya and sons, Dalton and Connor of Cecil. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nora Palarino.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Smith Mortuary in Charleston.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ratcliff with burial at St. Anthony’s cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Daniel and Angelo Palarino, Karl Kessler, Michael and Bill Mahl and Mark Fitch.
Charles “Jeep” Sadler
Charles “Jeep” Sadler, 65, of Greenwood died Thursday, June 7, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired football and baseball coach at Greenwood and Subiaco High School. He was a lifetime member of the Arkansas High School Coaches Association, and he was twice named Arkansas High School coach of the year. He attended the Church of Christ. He attended Fort Smith Junior College and was a graduate of Arkansas State Teachers College.
He is survived by one daughter, Debra and her husband, Larry Miller of Fort Smith; two sons, Pedro Sadler and wife, Jean Ann of Fort Smith, Doc Sadler and wife, Tonya of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Cliff Miller, Drew, Landon and Matthew Sadler, all of Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kent Charles Miller and a sister, Helen Lusk. He also is survived by Cooky Sadler of Fort Smith; five sisters, Juanita Martin, Lucille Nichols, Treva Marter, all of Fort Smith, June Higgs of Greenwood and Catherine Alexander of Conway; a brother, William Roscoe Sadler Jr. of Greenwood.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Greenwood Memorial cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
Pallbearers will be Bob Butler, Dr. Monte Butler, Earl Terry, John Geren, Tim Tencleve, Danny Shrum, H.B. Stewart, Carl Grandstaff, Kenny Weindel, Miro Spicer and Donnie Branham.

Virginia M. Etter, 83, of Tulsa died Friday, June 8, 2001, in Tulsa. She was a member of Sheridan Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by three nieces, Caroline Jones and Dorothy Collin, both of of Fort Smith, and Virginia Kapral of Pittsburgh; two nephews, Douglass Yadon of Galveston, Texas, and Jack Bines of Modesto, Calif.; three sons, Jerry of McLean, Va., Doug of Tulsa and Blake of Verdigris, Okla.; one sister, Catherine Miles of Marshall, Mo.; one brother, Neil Maupin of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mildred Raye Long
Mildred Raye Long, 61, of Cedarville died Friday, June 8, 2001, in Fort Smith. She had been a cancer patient for the past few years. Last June, her dream of being reunited with her children and grandchildren was fulfilled when she received an all-expense-paid trip to Branson, Mo., from the Dream Foundation, a non-profit organization in Santa Barbara, Calif., that comes to the aid of individuals who have a terminal illness. Her story was the subject of news repots by Fort Smith television stations and the Southwest Times Record.
She was born in Greybull, Wyo., and in Fort Smith worked for Denny’s Restaurant and later at the Fianna Hills Country Club. Known for her cheerful and gentle charm, she was “Miss Millie” to thousands of Fort Smith residents.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cliff Terrace Assembly of God in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; two daughters, Lilly Marnell Freeman and Lisa Ann Pavon, both of Fort Smith; three sons, Victor Levi Long of Fort Smith, John Pavon of Las Vegas and Robert Pavon of San Diego; two sisters, Wendy Collar of Wyoming and Betty Jo Olsen of Arizona; and 10 grandchildren.

PANAMA — Emma Walker, 91, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born Feb. 10, 1910, in Witteville, Okla. She was a cook at Panama Schols for about 27 years and a member of the Panama Free Will Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jack Walker.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Panama Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Shady Point cemetery, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by a sister, Theda Brown of Walls, Miss.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones and friends.
Pallbearers will be Harrell and Reve Bates, John Lee Bell, Tom Swiney, Sonny Duncan and Ronnie Bell.

SALLISAW — Charlene Russell, 74, of Sallisaw died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Gans cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Dallas; and three brothers, Elwayne Calloway of Fayetteville, Vernon Calloway of Muldrow and Odie Calloway of Sallisaw.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.

SPIRO — Yolanda “Joe” Walters, 70, of Spiro died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at Spiro City cemetery.
She is survived by four sons, Kenneth of Cherokee, Iowa, Larry of Martinez, Calif, Daniel of Muldrow and Mike of Heber Springs; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth, Larry, Daniel and Mike Walters, Toby Teach and Larry Ashing.

OZARK — Edith Irene Gunter Turner, 87, of Ozark died Sunday, June 10, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born Aug. 29, 1913, in Somer County, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ozark First United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Highland cemetery in Ozark.
She is survived by two stepdaughters, Deloris Lewis of Charleston and Charlene Lewis of Fort Smith; three stepsons, Donald Gryder and Bobby Turner, both of Mulberry, and Charles Turner of Livermore, Calif.; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
