Dolly Holstein
HUNTINGTON — Dolly Holstein, 86, of Huntington died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, in her home. She was owner of Kate and Dolly’s Cafe in Mansfield, a member of Midland First Baptist Church and the widow of Willie Holstein.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Midland First Baptist Church with burial at Huntington cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Downing of Burleson, Texas, and Pam Padgett of Hartford; a son, Billy Holstein of Huntington; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Leon Burrows, Dean Barnes, Todd Michael, Jackie Culver, Mitchell Strunk and Phillip Puckett.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Gary Jennen
Gary Wayne Jennen, 51, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Oct. 1. 2003, in his home. He was a former associate of Sign Art and a member of Van Buren First Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.
He is survived by a daughter, Tianne Jennen of Springdale; three sons, Gary Spetzler of California, Arron Jennen of Fayetteville and Peter Jennen of Rogers; his mother, Dimple Gadd of Van Buren; three brothers, Charles, Gene and Dan Jennen, all of Van Buren.
James E. McGuire, 50, of Roland died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dona McGuire; his wife, Judith Kay McGuire. James was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Smith and loved arts and crafts and cars.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at First Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Roland cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his father, Alfred “J” McGuire of Roland; three sisters, Alfreda Ann Anderson of Fort Smith, Kathy Kirby of Van Buren and Peggy June Collins of Van Buren; a brother, Donnie McGuire of Dallas; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be members of First Freewill Baptist Church.
The body may be viewed at Mallory Funeral Home in Sallisaw Monday noon until 8 p.m.
Fred Sunbeam Allison Sr., 86, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a custodian for Fort Smith Public Schools.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at King Solomon Christian Center with burial at Washington cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Fredia; 10 daughters, Hilda Allison, Laura Sanders, Barbara Elam, Debrah Harris, Alfredia Harris, Phyllis Houseman, Zeclia Thurman and Paula Harris, all of Fort Smith, Sharon Baker of Little Rock and Thelma Harris of Baltimore; five sons, Freddy Allison Jr. of Burnham, Ill., Donald Allison, Michael and Ira Harris, all of Fort Smith, and Arthur Gibson of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Juanita Hartgraves of Fort Smith; 40 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family will visit with friends at 2031 N. 13th St. in Fort Smith.
Kate Cariker
STIGLER — Kate Cariker, 96, Stigler died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in Stigler. She was one of the first telephone operators in the 1920s, a foster grandparent for area schools for 20 years, a member of Main Street Baptist Church and the widow of Noble Cariker.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Main Street Baptist Church in Stigler with burial at Stigler City cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by a son, Bob Cariker of Stigler; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kevin and Bill Cariker, Chris and Jake Blankenship, Bobby and Randy Mouser.
Juanita Dugan
GREENWOOD — Juanita Dugan, 81, of Greenwood died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was born Oct. 21, 1921, in Spiro. She was a homemaker and the widow of Glen Dugan Sr.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Oakland cemetery in Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Pat Graham of Poteau and Kathy Burris of Greenwood; three sons, Glen Dugan Jr. of Pocola, Mike Dugan of Purcell, Okla., and Dennis Dugan of Lindsay, Okla.; three sisters, Dorothy Smith of Fort Smith, Lenora Henley of Spiro and Vera Hanna of Oologah, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Ann Wilburn
Ann Maye Wilburn, 75, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in her home. She was born June 24, 1928, in Charleston. She was a retired businesswoman, a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Branch and the widow of Harmon Wilburn.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Woodard of Porterville, Calif., and Sharon Adamson of Fort Smith; four sons, Jim Wilburn of Murray, Ky., Don Wilburn of Glendale, Ariz., Carl Wilburn of Coventry, R.I., and Larry Wilburn of Barling; her mother, Goldie Merriman of Porterville, Calif.; three brothers, the Rev. Wayne Clifton of Anderson, Mo., Al Clifton of Porterville, Calif., and Jay Clifton of Antioch, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ed Clifton, Scott Reeves, Roger Carter, Carl Stout, Greg and Mathew Wooten.
John Smith
HARTMAN — John David Smith, 68, of Hartman died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in a Little Rock hospital. He was a retired heavy machine operator.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Minnow Creek cemetery in Lamar.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; four daughters, Donna Plank of Washington, Texas, Deborah Patterson of Clarksville, Diana Rainey of Knoxville and Anna Holman of Lamar; two sons, David L. Smith of Clarksville and Danny Smith of Paris; three sisters, Martha Woods of Springdale, Lillie Dukes of Dyer and Brenda Barnes of Rogers; two brothers, Newt Smith of Clarksville and Richard Smith of Lamar; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alex Choate, Larry Turner, Jacob Rainey, John and Josh Patterson, Zachary Fox, Jeremy Smith and Ethan Plank.
The family will visit with friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Raymond McCallister
Raymond J. McCallister, 73, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in a local hospital. He was born March 15, 1930, in Wilmer. He was an Army veteran, was awarded the Korean SVC Medal with three Bronze SVC Stars, UN SVC Medal and National Defense SVC Medal, a member of Church of the Living God of Arkoma.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by two sisters, Faye Rundell of Fort Smith and Peggy Walker of Sheridan; a brother, Floyd McCallister of California.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Harryette Barker
MOUNTAINBURG — Harryette Barker, 87, of Mountainburg died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, in her home. She was a retired electronics design draftsman.
No services are scheduled. The body will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Baron.
Cecil Butler
PANAMA — Cecil “Ted” Butler, 93, of Panama died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born July 18, 1910. He was a retired carpenter and farmer, a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Panama.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Panama Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Greenhill cemetery in Cameron under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Linnie; a daughter, Charlene Darneal of Panama; a brother, Wade Butler of Spiro; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ed, David, Allen, Eulice, Pete and Kenneth Butler.
Amma Garland
ANAHEIM, Calif, — Amma Eudean Garland, 78, of Anaheim, Calif., died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in Anaheim. She was a homemaker and the widow of Roy Garland.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by two sons, Joe and John Garland, both of Anaheim, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mary Freeman
HOWE — Mary Ellen Freeman, 77, of Howe died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, in Howe. She was a longtime resident of Howe and a member of the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association. She was an educator for 34 years, teaching school in Sycamore Kan., for three years; in Imperial, Calif., for one year; in Westville, Okla., for 12 years; and in Coweta, Okla., for 14 years, where she retired while serving as master educator. In 1983 she returned home to Howe, where she became a charter member and helped in the nursery for the Howe First Missionary Baptist Church. She and her late husband, Charles R. Freeman, established the Freeman Family Charitable Scholarship Foundation.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Howe with burial at Howe cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Freeman Family Life Center at First Missionary Baptist Church in Howe.

HOUSTON — Jeania Moore Burns, 84, of Houston died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, in Houston. She was a homemaker.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hartford Memorial Parkin Hartford under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Hartford.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Nance.
The body may be viewed at the cemetery.
Jeannie Rozell
Jeannie A. Rozell, 61, of Fort Smith died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Tyson Foods.
The body will be cremated under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. No formal services will be held.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; two daughters, Christie Cole of Cordova, Tenn., and Cynthia Pacheco of Fort Smith; and three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene; a daughter, Patricia Young of Gore; a son, James W. Thomason of Gore; two sisters, Leona Turner of Muldrow and Patsy Foster of Fort Smith; a brother, Arvil Thomason of Sallisaw; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Thomason, Shawn Johnson, Canton and Nichlos Young, Scott May and Ryan O’Connor.
Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters.
