POTEAU — Ada Lou Goff, 70, of Poteau died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, in Poteau. She was born Dec. 18, 1932, in Panama. She was a retired nurse and the widow of Verlon Goff.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Oakland cemetery in Poteau.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Goff of Moore, Okla., Garry Goff of Spiro and Carl Goff of Poteau; a brother, Charles Williams of Fort Smith; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Clem
LAVACA — Dorothy Clem, 85, of Lavaca died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in Charleston. She was born Aug. 27, 1918, at Arbuckle Island. She was a homemaker and a member of Riverdale Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with burial at Garden of Memories cemetery in Charleston.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Neal of Lavaca; two sons, Earl and Bob Clem, both of Lavaca; two sisters, Kathryn Schuch of Fort Smith and Hilda Waits of Hillsboro, Texas; a brother, William Dotson of Oregon; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby, Brady, Brian and Steven Clem, Megan and Donna McFerran and Mike Neal.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

CLARKSVILLE — Mary Ethel Carter, 92, of Clarksville died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in her home. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Wesley Carter.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Monday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Knoxville cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Lawrence Carter of Casa; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jody Stormes, Bob Nickles, Alvie and Sherman Smith, Dustin Reynolds and Clinton Daniels.

OZARK — Leomah Parrish, 68, of Ozark died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in Ozark. She was born Oct. 13, 1934, in Tuttle, Okla. She was a homemaker and member of Jethro United Pentecostal Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Oak Ridge cemetery in Ozark.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie; a daughter, Tammy Parrish of Odessa, Texas; and a sister, Verdonna Carr of Ozark.
Pallbearers will be Richard and Christopher Carr, Gerald Parrish, Bronson Ruston, Carl Newton and Jerry Cowan.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Mary Louise Richardson, 82, of Kansas City, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003 in Belton, Mo. She was born in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and the widow of Grover Richardson.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel in Kansas City, Mo., with burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Mo.
She is survived by two sons, Steven Davis Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., and Mark Richardson of Belton, Mo.;

Robert C. Gordon Jr.
Robert C. Gordon Jr., 77, of Fort Smith passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a radioman and part of the underwater demolition team while serving in the Navy. He was a member of the Noon Exchange Club, Golden Eagles, Elks Lodge, a charter member of the Temple Lodge, the F&AM Masonic Temple, a past president of the Arkansas Pilots Association, and he attended the Lutheran Church. He was also the former owner and president of Fort Smith Paper Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; and a daughter, Debby Haggard.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived two daughters, Sherry Wilson of Fort Smith and Linda Ward of Hackett; and his companion, Joan Ticer of Tulsa; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Leona Fagan Jacobs of Van Buren slipped away to be with her Savior and loved ones on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003. She was born in Amity in 1918. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dale Johnson; a granddaughter and her husband, Julia and Pepper Bourlon; and great-grandsons, Justin and Jarrod Bourlon, all of Zora Chapel Drive in Rudy. She is also survived by sisters Margaret Nordin, Pauline Ruffin and Ruby Lebow, all of the Fort Worth, Texas, area. Her passing was preceded by her husband, Baustine D. Jacobs; a brother, Lewie Fagan; and a sister, Addie Fagan. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren with burial at Macedonia cemetery. Kenneth Wayne Copher, 41, of Van Buren died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of God.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Hall cemetery Arbor in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Copher of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth Jean Copher of the home; a son, Leslie Allen Copher of the home; his father, John Copher and stepmother, Anna Faye of Mesa, Ariz., his mother, Elizabeth White of Fort Smith; and two sisters, Tina Troung of North Carolina and Charlotte Graves of Fort Smith.

LITTLE ROCK — Lou Ella “Crickett” Walker, 87, of Little Rock died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in a Little Rock rehabilitation center. She was a retired child care director.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Carolan cemetery near Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by a daughter, Martha Palmer of Little Rock; a brother, R.L. Cauthron of California; two sisters, Maudie DeLoge and Charlene Jones, both of California; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Georgia Willett
Georgia Willett, 82, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003. She was born April 7, 1921, in Bluegrass, Ky. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Arkoma and the widow of Norman Willett.
She is survived by six daughters, Marie Wibbing of Fort Smith, Rosemary Toman of Republic, Mo., Louise Mackey of Arkoma, Connie Lankford of Liberty, Okla., and Freda Wakefield and Tammy Sanders, both of Clarksville; five sons, Charles and Gary Willett, both of Arkoma, Ricky Willett of Bonanza, Larry Willett of Gentry and Jerry Willett of Fort Smith; a sister, Blanchie Gist of Fort Smith; a brother, John C. Fondren of Fort Smith; 38 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at the Assembly of God in Arkoma with Brother Roger Myers officiating under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Charles, Ricky, Gary, Larry and Jerry Willett.
Lonnie Campbell
Lonnie D. Campbell, 66, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, in his home. He was retired from the oil and gas business and from real estate for Cauldwell Bankers Agency in Waldron. He was a former chairman of the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission, former director for Commonwealth Bank in Houston, former director for Scott County Bank (Chambers Bank) in Waldron, former director for Mercy Hospital in Waldron and former chairman of the Scott County Republican Committee. He was currently serving on the executive committee of the Sebastian County Republican Committee. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of Fianna Hills Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fianna Hills Baptist Church with burial at 2:30 p.m. at Joplin cemetery in Montgomery County near Mount Ida under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; three sons, Bruce Campbell of Little Rock, Scott Campbell of Fort Smith and Philip Campbell of Mount Ida; two sisters, Nora Campbell of Little Rock and JoAnn Griffin of Franklin, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.

Dr. Phyllis Willis
Dr. Phyllis Willis, 69, of Vian died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a retired educator. She was a graduate of Vian High School, received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Okla., and received her doctorate from the University of Tulsa. She was the founder of the Living Literature Center at Northeastern State University. She directed and coordinated literary tours to Europe since 1981. She began her teaching career at Vian Schools in 1957 and at NSU in 1968, where she was an English professor and former department head. She retired in 1995 but was still the college representative for entry-year teachers. She was currently working as a federal programs consultant with Westville Public Schools and had been in that capacity the last five years. She was active in her church in the adult and youth programs. She served as an elder at the Community of Christ Church in Blackgum, Okla.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Vian High School Auditorium with burial at Pack Family cemetery in Blackgum under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Willis of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Kelvin Jamison of Sallisaw; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Bill Willis and Cindy Willis of Poteau; a brother, Neal Pack of Blackgum; seven grandchildren, Marc and Tori Willis, Sarah and Kelsey Jamison and Trey, Kelsey and Megan Weaver; and two great-grandchildren, Maci Cunningham and Hailey Weaver.
Pallbearers will be Larry Couch, Trey Weaver and Marc, Coy, John and Paul Willis.
Paul Raymond James Sr.
Paul Raymond James Sr., 84, of Ozark passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, in Fort Walton beach, Fla. He was born July 2, 1919, in the Watalula community near Ozark to Earl and Lillie James. He was a retired road maintenance worker with the U.S. Forest Service, a veteran of the Army during World War II, a member of the Ozark Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Cletus Earl James.
He was survived by his wife of 57 years, Willow Dean James of the home; daughters Judy Wright, Regina Howe and Tammie Sturdivant, all of Ozark, and Kathy Williams of Lamar; sons Paul Ray James Jr. of Clarksville and Bill James of Ozark; brother Dennis James of Ocola, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ozark Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Sawrie officiating. Interment will be at Highland cemetery in Ozark. The family will welcome friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.
Pallbearers will be Bill James, Paul James Jr., Jerry Howe, T.L. and Russell Sturdivant and Randal Wright.

Ben F. Boggs Jr.
Ben F. Boggs Jr., 85, of Charleston went to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, in Charleston. He was born Dec. 26, 1917, in Gans. He was a disabled Army veteran of World War II, a member of VFW and a Protestant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnye Boggs and a daughter, Vonda Boggs.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with burial at Garden of Memories cemetery in Charleston.
He is survived by seven daughters, Clema Boggs of California, Wanda Smithson of Lavaca, Sammye Willet of Prairie Grove, Sandra Boggs of Van Buren, Susie Boggs of Fayetteville, Sharon Harvey of Central City and Jenny Gattis of Charleston; four sons, William T. Boggs of Lavaca, Benjamin F. Boggs III of Fort Smith, John K. Boggs of Rock Island and Rockey W. Boggs of Hackett; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
