Shirley L. Wood of Fort Smith died May 2, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and retired registered nurse from Sparks Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry E. Wood.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer and husband, William Atanacio of Fort Smith; a son, Steve and wife, Jeanie Wood of Fort Smith; a sister, Bernice Dickerson of Derby, Kan.; a brother, Bill Ammons of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren, Jon and Amanda Wood and Katie Atanacio; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be David Burns, Ralph Smith, Gary Richards, Vick Braddy, Donald Swain, Dr. John Lange and Bill Gudding.

Randy Fears
Randy Fears, 47, of Van Buren died Saturday, May 3, 2003, in Van Buren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Van Buren, a 1973 graduate of Van Buren High School and a Van Buren Pointer basketball star. He was a former journalist for several area newspapers, including the Southwest Times Record, Press Argus Courier, Arkansas Gazette and newspapers in Dallas and Florida.
Graveside service will be 4 p.m. today at Macedonia cemetery near Uniontown under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of the home; a daughter, Christie Pixley of Fort Smith; two sons, Christopher Fears of Little Rock and Aaron Fears of Dallas; a sister, Velma and husband, Hill Alexander of Van Buren; two brothers, Roy Fears of Springdale and Earl Fears of Dallas; and three grandchildren, Baylor and Zoey Miles of Fort Smith and Maddie Fears of Little Rock.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Mark, Jeff and David Alexander, John, Matt, Jason, Michael and Tony Fears and Earl Fears Jr.
Funeral procession will leave from the funeral home to Macedonia cemetery at 3:30 p.m. today.
Mrs. Clare Kroll
Mrs. Clare Kroll, age 69, of Gassville died Monday, May 5, 2003, in Baxter Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, a volunteer at BRMC Auxiliary and a member of a quilting club.
The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with a private burial under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home.
Clare Kroll was born Dec. 4, 1933, in Chicago to Seymour and Alice O’Donnell Hoglund. She married
Fred Kroll Oct. 6, 1956, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. They moved to Arkansas in 1984 from Des Plaines, Ill.
Mrs. Clare Kroll is survived by four children, Kathy Reilly of Geneva, Ill., Peggy Kroll of Fort Smith, Fred Kroll of Lake in the Hills, Ill., and Greg Kroll of Mountain Home; a sister, Pat Ringenberg of Crestwood, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Patrick, Katie and Brandi.
He parents, her husband, Fred Kroll, two sisters, and three brothers preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Masses or to charity of donor’s choice.
Harlan B. Hunt
Harlan B. Hunt, 81, of Fort Smith died Monday, May 5, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a retired carpenter, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, served as the assistant Scout Master for Troop No. 6 of the Boy Scouts of American for many years and was an active participant in Arts and Crafts. He served in the Army during World War II.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerette Hunt of Fort Smith; a daughter, Dana and husband, Don Davenport of Fort Smith; three sons, Barney and wife, Jo Hunt of Farmington, Fred Hunt of Charleston and Phillip and wife, Valerie Hunt of Mustang, Okla.; a sister, Ruth Quattrucci of Coventry. R.I.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Builders Sunday school class of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Doella Dansby Chambers
Doella Dansby Chambers was born March 23, 1928, in Spiro to Edward and Jane Daniels Dansby, who preceded her in death. She passed Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Fort Smith at the age of 75 years. Doella spent her childhood in Spiro and attended public school in Spiro. She then moved to Kansas City, Kan., and after some years moved back to Spiro. Doella held many different jobs during her lifetime; all the people and friends she met along the way loved her. One of her favorite hobbies was quilting.
Mrs. Dansby met man a named Mack Chambers and in the year of nineteen hundred and seventy one they were married
. Although no children were born from this union, she received the love due a mother and her life was further blessed with stepchildren, and she then became Mama Do Ella. Mr. Mack Chambers preceded her in death also.
Doella obeyed the gospel of Christ on March 1, 1974, and was baptized at North Ninth Street Church of Christ in Fort Smith, then later moved her membership to the Church of Christ in Spiro. She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Darnell and wife, Sally Blaine of Pocola; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lilli Scruggs of Kansas City, Mo., and Ella Mae Hampton of Kansas City, Kan.; three stepdaughters, Jennie Delt of Fort Coffee, Okla., Mary McGill of Tracy, Calif., and Josephine Wooley of Atlanta; four stepsons, Issac Chambers and wife, Viola of Medera, Calif., Clarence Chambers and wife, Emma of Oakland, Calif., Shelvery Chambers and wife, Vaughn of Oakland, Calif., Otha Chambers and wife, Geneva of Oakland, Calif., and Emma Chambers (Herbert) of Fort Coffee, Okla.; a host of stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren plus a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Spiro.

Anna Virginia Carter, 77, of Fort Smith passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a retired CMT operator for Dixie Cup and a former member of Bluff Avenue Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband, James B. Carter; daughter, Peggy Ann Clark and her husband, Lamar of Crystal Beach, Texas; a son, John Carter and his wife, Sandra of Old Hickory, Tenn.; a sister, Daisy Wooden of Van Buren; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Elsie Rogers
Elsie Rogers, 66, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in a local hospital. She was retired from shipping for Fox Manufacturing. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Good Samaritan.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Central Baptist Church with burial at 4 p.m. today at Carlisle cemetery in Carlisle under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Webster of the home; a daughter, Janice Felder of Monroe, La.; two sons, James and Jon Rogers, both of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Kaitlyn.

The Rev. Allan C. Mustard Jr.
The Rev. Allan C. Mustard Jr. of Fort Smith died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in his Fort Smith home. He was serving as priest for the Christ Episcopal Church of Mena for the past 18 1/2 years, was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, the University of the South in Sewannee, Tenn., with a master’s degree in divinity, a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 1962. He served churches in South Carolina, Memphis and Arkansas. He served as a pharmaceutical representative for the Ross Laboratories in Fort Smith from 1979 until his retirement and was a member of the St. Andrew’s Society of Charleston, S.C.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Episcopal Church with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

LAMAR — Harry T. Paxson, 84, of Lamar died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Clarksville. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired timber cutter and of the Baptist faith. He was the widower of Ethel Paxson.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with a private burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Shirley Morgan of London; three sons, James Paxson of Clarksville, Ronald Paxson of Lamar and Tarry Paxson of Knoxville; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Grover Fuller
SPRINGDALE — Grover Fuller, 86, of Springdale, formerly of Van Buren, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Springdale. He was born Oct. 12, 1916, in Mansfield. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Springdale, served as corpsman in the Navy during World War II and was in fabric sales.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Springdale with burial at Bluff cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Aline; four sons, Don Fuller of St. Louis, Larry and Jim Fuller, both of Springdale, and Dan Fuller of Jackson, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Danny Smith, Ty Fuller, Joel and Brandon Chandler, Jonathan Cole and Blake Doty.

Darin Parks
ALMA — Darin Wesley Parks, 38, of Alma died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in a local hospital. He was of the Baptist faith and a manager of McDonald’s. He was a 1983 graduate of Van Buren High School and played for the Pointers. He was a volunteer coach for the Boys Club. Throughout junior and senior high, Darin participated in football, having played quarterback at the varsity level for two years.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; a son, James Parks of the home; his father, Delmar Parks Sr. of Alma; two sisters, Kim Polk and Karen Brown, both of Van Buren; and three brothers, Terry, Eddie and Delmar Parks Jr., all of Van Buren.

MULBERRY — Andrew “Sonny” Duncan, 71, of Mulberry died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired riverboat pilot for Waxley Towing Company, a member of the Mariners Association and a Mason member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Alma.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home in Mulberry with burial at New cemetery in Mulberry.
He is survived by his wife, Rothie; a daughter, Geri Amaro of Byers, Colo.; a son, Andrew Duncan Jr. of Mulberry; three stepdaughters, Kathie Cunningham and Kristy Patterson, both of Mulberry, and Kim Bugg of Fort Smith; two stepsons, Ronnie Bugg of Altus and Tom Bugg of Mulberry; two sisters, Betty Castner and Patsy Ichtertz, both of Oregon; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

ROGERS — Robert Leon Clover, 84, of Rogers died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Rogers. He was born Dec. 18, 1918, in Scanton, Pa. He was a member of Oakley Chapel Methodist Church in Rogers, an Air Force veteran of World War II and a retired home builder.
Funeral will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers with burial at Oakley Chapel cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Elva; two sons, Donald Clover of Fort Smith and Gregory Clover of Rogers; two sisters, Jane Frey of Cooperstown, N.Y., and Betty Laeyt of Troy, N.Y.; two brothers, Frank Clover of Denver and William Clover of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren.
