MENA — Holder R. Lawrence, 80, of Mena died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at a Mena hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1922, in Shady and was a retired roofing foreman and a member of the Dallas Avenue Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Graveside service was Saturday at Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons, Mickey Lawrence of Abilene, Texas, and Bryan Lawrence of Tulsa; two brothers, Jesse Lawrence and Grady Lawrence, both of Mena; three sisters, Mary Massey of Buckner, Okla., Cori Roper of Dallas and Faye Brewer of Mena; and two grandchildren.

Alton Montogomery
WALDRON — Alton Derial Montogomery, 66, of Waldron died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, in his home. He was a retired owner and operator of a dry cleaning business, a veteran of the Army and of the Pentecostal faith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Friendship cemetery near Waldron.
He is survived by his wife, Vera; a daughter, Debbie Silvey of Waldron; a son, James Montgomery of Waldron; three sisters, Jeanie Bailey, Hazel Cheesman of Virgie Shaw, all of Waldron; a brother, Loyd Montgomery of Fort Smith; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steven Silvey, Mike Yandell, Curtis Edwards, David Sparks, Clint Lundsford and Lenny Bailey.
The body may be viewed from 3 to 9 p.m. today.

Diana Miller
SALLISAW — Diana Lee Miller, 45, of Sallisaw died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper at Gary’s Fine Shine Detail Shop. She was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at the Sallisaw City cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Wayne Miller; two daughters, Jennifer Diana Miller and Jody Rhena Miller of the home; her parents, Burt and Nine Riley of Carnegie, Okla.; a sister, Beverly Ann Teichgraeber of Highland, Calif.; three brothers, Doyle Riley of Ardmore, Okla., Royce Riley of Henderson, Nev., and Haskell Riley of Las Vegas.
Pallbearers will be Larry Emerson, Brian Wilson, Richard Smith and Dave Smith.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday prior to funeral services.

Jim Callison
SALLISAW — Jim Callison, 84, of Sallisaw died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a retired construction worker, a former bus driver for Gore schools and a Pentecostal.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Gore with burial at White cemetery in Gore.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Donna Ruth Parson of Sallisaw; a son, Jimmy P. Callison of Gore; a brother, Pershing “Fuz” Callison of Muskogee, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dewey Padgett, Steve Padgett, Kurt Henry, Winford Brown, Larry Carter and Wayne Sloan.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dovie Estep
SHADY POINT — Dovie Eugenia Estep, 84, of Shady Point died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was the widow of the Rev. E.L. Estep and a member of the Shady Point Assembly of God. She also worked at Shady Point school from 1967 to 2000.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Shady Point Assembly of God with burial at Shady Point under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Florence Peters of Sallisaw; and Louise Skinner of Cameron, Okla.; a son, James Estep of Shady Point; two brothers, Cecil Akins and Johnny Akins, both of Foreman; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Orren Mayfield
CEDARVILLE — Orren “Whitey” Mayfield, 76, of Cedarville died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, in Cedarville. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a retired auto technician for Sears Roebuck and the widower of Verna Mayfield.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Goates cemetery in Scottsville under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by two daughters, Dianna Louise Svalina of Moorecroft, Wy.; and Karen Palmer of Palataka, Fla.; three sons, Daniel Lewis Mayfield of Cedarville, David Lee Mayfield of Van Buren and Leonard Dewayne Mayfield of Fort Smith; a brother, William Mayfield of Leon Springs, Texas; 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Beatrice Johnson
ARKOMA — Beatrice “Bea” Johnson, 65, of Arkoma died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a retired nursery assistant at Harvest Time Tabernacle and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Arkoma.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny; a daughter, Debra Dority; four sons, Norman Johnson of Pocola, Randy Johnson of Arkoma, and James Johnson and David Johnson, both of Pocola; her mother, Georgia Willett of Fort Smith; six sisters, Marie Wibbing of Fort Smith, Rosemany Toman of Republic, Mo., Louise Mackey of Arkoma, Connie Lankford of Liberty, Freda “Sue” Wakefield of Clarksville and Tammy Sanders of Fort Smith; five brothers, Charles Willett of Arkoma, Ricky Willett of Bonanza, Gary Willett of Arkoma, Larry Willett of Gentry and Jerry Willett of Fort Smith; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles, Ricky, Gary, Larry and Jerry Willett and Thomas Lankford.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arkoma Assembly of God in Arkoma.

Dusty Ferguson
Dusty Leon Feguson, 16, of Fort Smith died Nov. 8, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a student at Northside High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ray and Lilly Skelton of Fort Smith; his father, Bruce Ferguson of Van Buren; his grandparents, Kathleen Ferguson of Van Buren, Helen Lynch of Van Buren and Ed and Dell Skelton of Rudy; two sisters, Robin Marie Ferguson and Crystal Skaggs, both of Van Buren; two stepsisters, Jenny Marie Skelton and Sarah Louise Skelton, both of Fort Smith; a brother, David Luther Ferguson of Charleston; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

Mike Breazzeal
Mike Breazzeal, 37, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was formerly employed by Burford Distributors and was president of the Homeowner’s Association of Remington Place.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Daniela; a daughter, Jasmine Breazzeal of Fort Smith; two sons, Jimmy Boston of Van Buren and Joshua Breazzeal of Fort Smith; his parents, Carol Blake of China Valley, Ariz., and Carl Breazzeal of Mountainburg; his grandparents, Josephine Bryan of Arizona and Wanda Breazzeal; two sisters, Kelle Hauser of Canyon Lake, Calif., and Carla Gonzalez of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Boston, Mark Collins, Lester Poole and John Poole.
The body may be viewed from8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Mary Rice
Mary Boatman Rice, 84, of Fort Smith died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at her home. She was a lifelong member of Goddard United Methodist Church and the widow of Jesse Rice. She was a member of Amrita Caldron, past Mighty Chosen One, a member of Circle No. 8 at her church, was 1976 Woman of the Year with the American Business Women’s Association, a member of the UCT’s Ladies Club and a founding member of the Crusaders at her church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry and Joe Rice, both of Fort Smith; two sisters, Minnie Porter of Fort Smith and Bettye Vincent of Los Angeles; and two brothers, James Boatman of Fort Smith and Alec C. Boatman of Los Angeles.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Goddard United Methodist Church, 1922 Dodson Ave., Fort Smith 72901.

Joe Bennett
ALTUS — Joe E. Bennett, 59, of Altus died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, in Ozark. He was a member of the Alix Assembly of God Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Alix Assembly of God with burial at Houston cemetery in Alix under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; five sisters, Linda Lott and Geraldine Cagle, both of Ozark, Louise Schue and Flora Mae Jones of Gilbert, Ariz., and Iva Gracy of Napa, Calif.; and two brothers Harold Bennett of Ozark and Jay Bennett of Gilbert, Ariz.
Pallbearers will be Kevin and Aaron Hurt, Harbert and Randy Jones, Randy Kensworthy and Mike Rofkahr.
The family will visit with friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth Plemmons
WALDRON — Ruth Humble Plemmons, 93, of Waldron died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, in a Waldron hospital. She was the retired owner and operator of a dry goods store, a member of Waldron United Methodist Church and the widow of Jack Plemmons.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Martin Funeral Home in Waldron with burial at Duncan cemetery in Waldron.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Henley of Waldron and Carolyn Horton of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Gerri Garrett of Memphis; two brothers, Roland Humble of Benton and Terry Humble of Harrison; four grandchildren, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Allen Dozier, Bobby McGaugh, Moe Shores, Robert Lewis, Rufus Shores and Steve Hattabaugh.
The body may be viewed from 3 to 9 p.m. today.
Memorial contributions may be made to Duncan cemetery Fund, Waldron Methodist Church, Waldron Library or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arthur Johnson
Arthur Johnson, 72, of Fort Smith, formerly of Roland, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at his home. He was retired from the federal government as an Indian land lease agent in Scottsdale, Ariz., an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and of the Lutheran faith.
Funeral will be noon Tuesday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Laura “Lou”; three daughters, Julie Riggleman of Lancaster, Penn., and Becky Johnson and Amy Huntsman, both of El Cajon, Calif.; two sons, Mark and Dean Johnson, both of El Cajon, Calif.; a stepson, Daron Butler of Cedar Park, Texas; two sisters, Muriel Hanson of Anoka, Minn.; and Dorothy Benson of Superior, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren.

Sister Apollonia Moix
Sister Apollonia Moix, 88, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a registered X-ray technologist and anesthetist. Her religious profession date was June 24, 1939.
Vespers will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel in Fort Smith.
Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three sisters, Katherine White of Conway; Josephine Brummer of Harlingen, Texas, and Ann Belkett of Ohio; and a brother, Joseph Moix of Little Rock.
Pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.

Norma Alexander
Norma Alexander, 79, of Van Buren died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker, a long time resident of Van Buren and a member of Pioneer Crawford County family. She was the widow of the late Edward C. Alexander and a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Fairview cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Gary Ted Alexander of Springfield, Ill., Douglas Garfield Alexander of Lexington, Ky., and David Nelson Alexander of Van Buren; a sister, Sibyle Ervin of Joplin, Mo.; a brother, David Hicks of Fort Smith; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Morgan, Geoffrey, Hill, and Gentry Alexander, Phillip Morton, Daniel Rupp, Brooks Hicks and Jack Erwin.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
