William Gampp, 96, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a tool and dye maker for Curtis Manufacturing in St. Louis for 37 years, a member of First Lutheran Church, the Eden Club in St. Louis which is a singing group.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Dora; three sons, Kurt Gampp of Orlando, Fla., Eric Gampp of Bigfork, Mont., and Erwin Gampp of St. Louis; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

CHARLESTON — Ewell D. “Dave” Reed, 69, of Charleston died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in his home. He was born Sept. 17, 1933, in Muldrow. He was retired from work in retail sales at K-Mart in Arvada, Colo.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Upper Camp Creek in Muldrow under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Deborah Sue Tredeau and Pamela Laurel Whiteley of Florida; a son, David E. Reed of Florida; a stepdaughter, Michele FitzGerald of Charleston; three stepsons, Gerald J. and Michael P. FitzGerald, both of California, and Sean G. FitzGerald of Idaho; his mother, Gladys Wallace of Muldrow; a brother, Ewing C. Reed of Manford, Okla.; six grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, one great-grandson and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

POCOLA — Mae Rettie Lovell, 88, of Pocola died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, in Pocola. She was a homemaker and a member of Pocola Heights Free Will Baptist Church and the widow of Fred Lovell.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pocola Heights Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Old Union cemetery in Hackett under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Myers of Pocola and Geneva Powell of Yorba Linda, Calif.; a son, Bob Lovell of Pocola; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Kenny and Danny Lovell, Steve and Ron Powell, Gary Myers and John Woods.

DARDANELLE — Ann Lou Daly, 65, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, in Las Vegas. She was born June 23, 1937, in Spring Creek near Belleville. She was a homemaker, a member of Dardanelle First Presbyterian Church and the Bay Ridge Ladie Golf Association.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dardanelle Community Center with burial at Brearley cemetery in Dardanelle under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; a daughter, Julia Kim Toth of Granbury, Texas; two sons, Jamie and John Daly, both of Dardanelle; two sisters, Sue Pozarek of Roseville, Calif., and Wanda Coffey of Fair Oaks, Calif; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jay Loy and Milas H. Hale III, Leon Woods, Lance Adams, Donnie Crabtree and Mike Pozarek.

He is survived by a sister, Edna Mae Campbell of Greenwood; two brothers, J.T. and John Quick, both of Greenwood, and Argus Quick of Fort Smith.

Samuel Lee Porter Sr., 81, of Fort Smith died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a retired veteran of the Army, a retired supervisor for the city of Fort Smith, Union vice president for the city of Fort Smith and a member of VFW Post No. 9815.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by three daughters, Elaine Newson and Gloria Arnold, both of Fort Smith, and Veesta Mosley of Muldrow; three sons, Emmett and Samuel Porter Jr., both of Fort Smith, and Robert Sherer of Pittsburgh; a sister, Rena Bell James of Birmingham, Ala.; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Catherine Louise Brown, 75, of Greenwood died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was employed at Sam’s Wholesale Club, a member of Greenwood First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star in Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Brown, a daughter, Leta Jane; two brothers, Gene and Gerald Amos; and a half sister, Genieve Powell.

Oliver P. Harkreader, 90, of Lavaca died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was born Aug. 15, 1912, in Charleston to Oliver Perry Harkreader and Mary Catherine O’Bar. He was a retired Civil Service employee, a member of First Baptist Church and former deacon. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Patterson.

Steve Stoudt, 41, of Lavaca, entered into rest Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, in Lavaca. He was born Nov. 21, 1961, in Fort Smith the son of Bill and Delores Stoudt. Steve was a sales representative for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company and retired from the Fort Smith Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Stoudt. He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy of the home; a daughter, Madison of the home; two children from his previous marriage, Chelsi Stoudt of Garland, Texas, and Dylan Stoudt of St. Peter, Mo.; his mother, Delores Stoudt of Texas; two brothers, Bill Stoudt of San Antonio and Church Mondier of Fort Smith; and four nieces.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Lavaca with burial at Hickory Ridge cemetery in Lavaca. Pearlena McCollum Phipps
Pearlena McCollum Phipps, born Sept. 17, 1913, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was preceded in death by her husband, James David Phipps, and her parents, Charley and Frankie McCollum. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew, Luther and Carson McCollum and sisters, Lillian Shook and Liddie McMath.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Mae and Fred Brandli and Mary and Pete Bennett, all of Alma. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; Fred Brandli Jr. and Elaine and children, Taylor, Jaz, Tres and Gabriel; James Brandli and Katrina and children, Ren, Ariel, Taft, Nanna and Sophie, all of Van Buren; Fawn and Timmy Hamby and children, Casey and Shylo of Alma. Also Misty Brandli of Alma. Rhonda and Taylor Soderborg and children, Steve, Jordan, Michael, Ashton and Ann Marie of Hyrum, Utah; Denise Bennett of Salt Lake City; Teresa and Kevin Watts and children, Sean, Cody, Katelynn and Kevin Jr. of Wylie, Texas; Nancy and Jimmy Jones and children, Rachel, Shelby, Elizabeth and Nathan of Alma. Pearlena was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed writing poetry and songs, working in her garden and visiting with her family; she also loved animals. She did extensive genealogy research on the McCollum and Davis families. She was a retired nurses aide for Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith and Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Fred E. Brandli Sr. will be officiating the funeral service at 3 p.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alma with burial at Oak Bower cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Edwards Van-Alm Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers are Fred and James Brandli, Ben and Ron Bennett, Jared Bennett and Timmy Hamby. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, Mitchell and John T. Brake, Olin, Henry, Voyt, Oliver and J.C.
