Charles “Richard” Hobbs Sr.
Charles “Richard” Hobbs Sr., 85, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Schaburg. He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad during World War II. He owned and operated Richard Hobbs Auto Service for more than 50 years. He was a loving husband and father, a great mechanic and friend. He was an avid golfer, member of Rolling Knolls Golf and Country Club and Fort Smith Country Club and held many golfing records. He was a member of the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, Masonic Lodge and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents O.C. and Nellie Hobbs; three brothers, Ray, George and Bobby Hobbs; and one granddaughter, Carla Hobbs.
He is survived by one brother, Eugene P. Hobbs of Van Buren; two daughters, Carolyn Richie Phillips of Fort Smith and Mary Jane Hobbs of Bentonville; one son, Charles Richard Hobbs, Jr. of Fort Smith; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith. Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith with burial at Holy Cross cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terrence and Jeffrey Kramer, Rick and Race Hobbs, Richard Hobbs Garrison, Mark Edward Garrison, Martin Cox Garrison and Don Garrison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Spahn, Dave Phillips, Finley Turner and Luther Stem Jr.

Jacquelin Ann Starks Harrell Mollenhauer
Jacquelin Ann Starks Harrell Mollenhauer, 64, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born in Tulsa on Oct. 20, 1937. She graduated from Notheastern State University at Tahlequah, Okla., with a bachelor’s degree in music education and from North Texas State University with a master’s degree in education. She taught and was a principal in the Dallas Independent School District for 33 years before retiring and moving to Fort Smith where she was branch manager at the Dallas Street Branch Library of the Fort Smith Public Library System. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church and sang in the chancel choir and was a member of the Prime Chime Ringers. She also served on the Altar Committee. She belonged to the ALPS Roundtable of the ArLA and had served on its executive board. While in Dallas, she served as the Elementary Chair for the MENC and was registration chair person for the TAIR Conference for 12 years. She was an ardent genealogist.
She was preceeded in death by her father, James Millard Rhodes and her step father, John Junior Starks.
Funeral will be at Goddard United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday under the direction of Fentress Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; her mother, Rosalie McClanahan of Enid, Okla.; one sister, Jonette Bracy of Enid; two brothers, Michael Rhodes of Dallas and Jeffrey Rhodes of Bloomington, Ill.; one son, Carl Harrell and wife Tina of Garland, Texas; a step-daughter, Alissa Kaun and husband Paul of Hickory Creek, Texas; four granddaughters, Hollie, Madison, Amber and Sydney Harrell, all of Garland; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pam and Martin Richter of DeSoto, Texas; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jim Miller, John and Bradley Ellis, John Scott Pixley and Randall Johnson.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, Monday., Aug. 12, 2002.

Modesta Sprinkle
Modesta Sprinkle, 85, of Charleston died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Charleston. She was the owner and operator of Sprinkle Printing Co. in Monahans, Texas, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial at Sacred Heart cemetery in Charleston.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Medely of Portland, Ore.; a son, Ed Sprinkle of Denton, Texas; two sisters, Anna Marie Miesner and Hermena Foster, both of Charleston; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Raible, Everett Buckner, Gwen Ewing, Herman Verkamp, Joe Kiene and Jack Pennartz.
Jean Frazier Rogers
Jean Frazier Rogers of Sallisaw died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 In Sallisaw. She was retired from Krogers and J.C. Penney and she was currently employed at Blue Ribbon Downs.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Muldrow Memory Gardens in Muldrow under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one son, R. Michael Rogers and his wife, Jeane, both of San Antonio, Texas; five sisters, Bonnie Clark and Faye Frazier of Muldrow, Pauline Hanna of Fort Smith, Bettye Peteet of Harleton, Texas, and Mary Hammond of Roland; five brothers, Marion Frazier of Folcroft, Penn., Levi Frazier of Van Buren, Kenneth Frazier of Spiro, Homer Frazier of Kibler, and Tommy Frazier of Hillsville, Va.; two grandchildren, Christopher Rogers and his wife, Michelle, and Thomas Rogers, all of San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Audry Frazier; and one brother, Jerry Frazier.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Rogers, Chris Rogers, David Riggs, Mark Weatherton, Charles Peteet, Brian Jackson and Larry Hammond.

Homer Edward Kilgore, 83, of Muldrow entered into rest Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, in his home. He was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Fort Smith the son of the late James and Lura Amos Kilgore. He was a retired truck driver for Mercury Motor Freight Lines, a Navy Seabee veteran, a 50-year Mason and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Homer is preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie Gene and Jerry Dean Kilgore. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Christina Moschner; a son and daughter-in-law, Homer Ray and Gerelene Kilgore of Fort Smith; a daughter-in-law, Mary Kilgore; eight grandchildren, Tina DeCanter and husband, Randy of Van Buren, Danette Bernard and husband of Poteau, Mary Irvin and husband, Bill of Fort Smith, Ronnie Kilgore II and wife, Lori of Van Buren, Heather Kilgore, Brittney and husband, Jason of Fort Smith, Barrett Kilgore and Lyndsey Kilgore; five great-grandchildren, Spencer Jackson, River Quinn Decanter, Maddison and Dexter Bernard and Cheyenne Irvin; a niece, Shirley Pruitt. Rosary was held Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Mass will be 10 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith. Leoma May Webb of Alma, formerly of Pontiac, Mich., died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at 88 years of age. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Alma and a homemaker.

FARMINGTON — Coy Page, 94, of Farmington died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, in his home. He was born Nov. 28, 1907, in Lamar. He was a minister in the Morrow Community for more than 71 years and attended Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at First Assembly of God in Lincoln with burial at Bethesda cemetery in Morrow under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove.
He is survived by his wife, Lorena; two daughters, Loretta Wilcox of Tulsa and Kathey Wilson of Springdale; a son, Billy John Page of Van Buren; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

PARIS — Laura Johnston, 54, of Paris died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, in Paris. She was born March 3, 1948, in Paris. She was a homemaker and a member of Poole Temple Church in Paris.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Davis of Havana and Sylvia Johnston of Fort Smith; two sons, Sidney Johnston of Russellville and Travis Johnston of Fort Smith; a stepdaughter, Bridgette Williams of Russellville; two sisters, Dorothy Thomas and Divan Davis, both of Paris; three brothers, Eddie Byrd of St. Louis, Walter and Jordan Byrd, both of Paris; and 15 grandchildren.

MENA — Ruby L. Nance, 76, of Mena died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Temple, Okla. She was a homemaker.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at White Oak cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by her husband, Herman; a son, Michael V. Nance of Gridley, Calif.; a grandchild, Ruby Hawkins of Rathdrum, Idaho; and two great-grandchildren.

MENA — Walter Clyde Kirk, 62, of Mena died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, in his home. He was born June 17, 1940, in Seminole, Texas. He was a Dairy Queen business owner for 33 years, a member of Elks Lodge No. 781 and the First United Methodist Church.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena. The body was sent for cremation.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters, Kelly Barbeau of Plano, Texas, and Shana Angel of Oklahoma; three sons, Chris Jo Kirk of Arkansas, David Mathew and Johnathon Paul Williams, both of Fayetteville; his mother, Estelle Kirk of Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, Carolyn Rush of Levelland, Texas, Sharon Wilson of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Donna Stevens of Hale Center, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Oak Hill cemetery under the direction of Owen Funeral Home of Cartersville, Ga.
She is survived by a daughter, Stay Cee Shelly of Van Buren; three sons, Nikolas Williams of Germany, Christopher Ooms and Daniel Henry, both of Cartersville; her parents, Robbie and Curtis Langston Sr. of Van Buren; three brothers, William Byrd of Plainview, Texas, Bobby Moore Jr. and Curtis Langston Jr., both of Van Buren; and two grandchildren.
