CONWAY — Mary G. Williams, formerly of Fayetteville and Little Rock, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Conway. She was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Philadelphia.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene J. Williams; a daughter, Rebecca Williams of Conway; a sister, Louis McCormack of Albany, Ga.; a brother, William Gross of Florida; three grandchildren, Jeff Marquis of New York City, Kalen Mainord of Tyler, Texas, and Julie McClendon of Springdale; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul’s library.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation or the building fund for the Fayetteville Public Library, 217 E. Dickson.

CLAUDINE COLLEY
CHARLESTON — Claudine “Bobbie” Colley, 66, of Charleston died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston. She was born March 12, 1935, in Manteca, Calif.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stroud cemetery west of Greenwood under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters, Kathi Stubblefield of Branch and Janna Beason of Russellville; two sons, Steven Colley of Alma and Tim Colley of Fort Smith; a sister, Sharon Iriaret of Manteca, Calif.; a brother, Don Faucett of Camarillo, Calif.; and nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Corey Beason, Josh Stubblefield, Kennan and James Colley, Marvin Sory, Kevin Speer and Neal Preston.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

BILL HURLEY
Bill Hurley, 82, of Fort Smith died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a retired sales representative, an Army veteran, a member of Belle Pointe Lodge No. 200 and a 32nd degree Mason.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Meredith Muncy of Fort Smith and Sunde McGinnis of Mesa, Ariz.; a son, Joseph “Joe” Hurley of Phoenix; three sisters, Celestine Hoedl of Shawnee, Anglyn Berdan of Fort Smith and Barbara Mackey of Van Buren; and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Sanford, Howell Schmidt, Chuck, Eric and John Mackey, John Reith, Gary Kuykendall and Mark Hoedl. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

ALSIE WOOD
PORUM, Okla. — Alsie L. Wood, 80, of Porum, Okla., died Monday, May 28, 2001, in Muskogee.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Coleman cemetery in Porum under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by two daughters, Stella Perry of Muskogee and Wilma Craig of Ashville, N.C.; two sons, Jim R. Wood and Jerry L. Wood, both of Muskogee; a sister, Addiebelle Moore of Porum; a brother, Elmer Smith of Tulsa; and 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The body may be viewed in Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Porum.

SALLY MARBURGER
HARTFORD — Sally E. Marburger, 91, of Hartford died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker, retired editor of Gamecock Magazine in Hartford and a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Dave Marburger.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Hartford with burial at Hartford Memorial Park in Hartford.
She is survived by a sister, Juanita Woodson of Fort Smith.
The body may be viewed from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

LUCILLE LADKY
PORUM, Okla. — Lucille Ladky, 82, of Porum, Okla., died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Porum. She was the widow of Fred Weaver and Arthur Ladky.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Coleman cemetery in Porum under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by two sons, Jim and Fred Weaver; three sisters, Ruby Duke, Reba Kirk and Vera Allison; a brother, Austin Moore; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed in Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Porum.

CARRIE CARTER
PANAMA — Carrie Harrison Carter, 91, of Panama died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Poteau. She was born Oct. 15, 1909, in Hackett. She had been a member of the First Assembly of God in Panama since the 1930s. She was the widow of Herman Harrison, Claude Kilgore and Orville Carter.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Assembly of God in Panama with burial at Shady Point cemetery, under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by three sons, Owen D. Harrison of Poteau, James Harrison of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Bob Harrison of Tulsa; a sister, Ola McGill of Spiro; and 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe, Frankie and Curtis Solomon, Lance Hattabaugh, Sam Fowler and Rick Tuter.

LUGARDITA ESPARZA
Lugardita A. Esparza, 85, of Fort Smith died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial at Calvary cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Elvira Moreton of Huntington; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, John, Tom, Fred, Raymond, Manuel, Andrew and Cassie Moreton.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1820 N. B St., Fort Smith, AR.

Kenneth Wayne Miller
Kenneth Wayne Miller, 60, of Arcadia, Okla., died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, in his home. He was born July 23, 1940, in Fort Smith. He was retired from Union Iron Workers Local No. 48 and employed at Oklahoma City Line Maintenance. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Jones Lodge No. 537, AF&AM, the Scottish Rites in Guthrie, Okla., and the Oak Tree Assembly of God in Edmond, Okla.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial with Masonic rites at Gentry cemetery in Greenwood. A celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Tree Assembly of God, 400 W. Danforth, Edmond, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; two daughters, Donna Kiper and husband Frank of Oklahoma City and Kathy Gregory and husband Ted of Sand Springs, Okla.; four sons, Kenneth Tankersley and wife Debbie of Centerville, Ohio, Kenneth Miller Jr. and Kevin Miller, both of Oklahoma City, and Dewayne Miller and wife Tabbatha of Arcadia; one sister, Opal Strickland of Boston, Ga.; one brother, Fred Miller of Fort Smith; and seven grandsons and four granddaughters.
Pallbearers will be sons, Kenneth Tankersley, Kenneth Miller Jr., Kevin and Dewayne Miller, and sons-in-law, Frank Kiper and Ted Gregory.
The body may be viewed from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be J. Vernon Brown and John Miller.

Jessie James Prizina
Jessie James Prizina, 79, of Atkins died Thursday, May 24, 2001, in an area hospital. She was a Baptist and the widow of John Edward Prizina.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by three daughters, Anna Louise Kaye of Spanaway, Wash.; Brooka Hamilton of Morrilton and Trudy Sutton of Van Buren; a son, John E. Prizina of Brighton, Tenn.; and 13 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shannon, Heath and Matt Davis, Seth Spaulding and Eric and Bryan Sutton.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at 2023 Lee Creek Drive, Van Buren.

Ruth Maxine McClellan Southern
Ruth Maxine McClellan Southern, 68, of Fort Smith entered into rest Saturday, May 26, 2001, in a local hospital. She was born May 19, 1933, in Mulberry, the daughter of the late Otis Luther and Bessie Opal (Avance) McClellan. Ruth was a a retired LPN for Holt Krock Clinic and a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Oak Cliff Baptist Church, 3701 Gary St., officiated by the Reverend Phil Whitten and the Reverend Jerry Southern. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Otry; four daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Lynn and Bradley Rice of Lincoln, Karen R. and Mike Strunk of Rye Hill, Luann and Bobby Acord of Van Buren and Tammy Ronn Hull of Cowlington, Okla.; a sister, Sue Schneider of Fort Smith; 10 grandchildren, Angela Patrick, James Sutton, Kelley Waggle, Kristie Lowther, Rex Rice, Jeremy and Jeffrey Strunk, Haileigh and Ronnie Hull and Coby Acord; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jiggs.
Pallbearers will be James Sutton, Rex Rice, Jeremy and Jeffrey Strunk and Coby Acord.

Matt Floyd
Matt Floyd, 72, of Fort Smith entered into rest Friday, May 25, 2001, in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1928, in Roland. He was the former owner of Floyd’s Ladies Wear, a Navy veteran, a Mason and a member of the Baptist faith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Chapel in Fort Smith with entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Deana Kay Cundiff of San Dimas, Calif.; a son, Garry T. Floyd of Dallas; and four grandchildren.

Alvesta Maxwell
Alvesta Maxwell, 80, of Van Buren, formerly of Denver, died Friday, May 25, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a retired florist with Brauns Greenhouse in Denver. She was a member of the 88 Freewill Baptist Church, a native of Chester and a former resident of Rudy.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Gracelawn cemetery Arbor in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Austin; a sister, Hazel Harris of Van Buren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Billy Gene Kimes, Carol, Max and Glen Kimes, Leon Lamb and Myron Maxwell.

Frances O’Keefe
Frances D. O’Keefe, 77, of Van Buren died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a retired bookkeeper from Sparks Credit Union and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and past president of Catholic Business Women’s Association.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday in Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Calvary cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Sister Mary Thomas O’Keefe of Hot Springs; a sister, Elizabeth June Davis of Van Buren; and several cousins.
Pallbearers will be James Bruning, Gene Bruick, Bill Becker and Jim Moore and Blanca Domimquez.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 22 N. 13th St., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Bernard Joerger
BOISE, Idaho — Bernard L. “Ben” Joerger, of Boise, Idaho died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, in Boise. He was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Altus. He entered the Air Force in 1942 where he flew B-24 airplanes. He later became a missile specialist for the military and retired in 1970. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and of the National Wildlife Federation.
Graveside service was held May 25 at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens in Boise, Idaho under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel of Boise, Idaho.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; a daughter, Pamela Stephen of Boise, Idaho; a son, Robert Joerger of Salem, Ore.; a sister, Agnes Thomas of Altus; two brothers, Andrew Joerger of Covina, Calif., and Edward Joerger of Dallas; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Stephen of Boise, Idaho.
