Margaret Ferrari Eads, 73, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a graduate of Durham Hall High School in St. Paul, Minn., and Maryville College in St. Louis. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith.
After a private burial at Holy Cross cemetery in Fort Smith, a memorial mass will be 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, William Martin Eads Jr.; one daughter, Elizabeth Eads of Denver; two sons, William Martin Eads III of Fort Smith and Michael Cravens Eads of Boston; three grandchildren, Christopher William, Braden Joseph and Megan Elizabeth Eads, all of Fort Smith.

Manson Wiley Jr.
Manson Wiley Jr., 55, of Van Buren died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, in his home. He was a graduate of Van Buren High School and attended the University of Arkansas. He was an engineer with the Union Pacific Railroad, an Air Force veteran, a Mason and a member of the UTU.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Gracelawn cemetery Arbor in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by one daughter, Valerie Wiley of Van Buren; one brother, Dorvan Wiley of Van Buren; six nieces, Caralynn Karney and Amanda and Stephanie Wiley, all of Van Buren, Marissa, Holly and Caitlin Hicks all of Kibler; and two nephews, Brad Wiley of Alma and Brent Wiley of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Allen Hessman, Gary Jones, Mark Polk, Donny Ponder, Mike Helmer and David Moore.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Robert “Bob” Carroll Pitts
Robert “Bob” Carroll Pitts, 75, of Harrison, formerly of Fort Smith died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, in North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. He was born Aug. 22, 1925, in Newton, Kan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison and Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He was a retired mechanic/fleets supervisor from Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. and a retired colonel and jet pilot from the 188th Tactical Recon Squadron of the Arkansas Air National Guard in Fort Smith. He enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, gardening, cooking, sewing, working on his computer and reading his Bible. He and his wife Geraldine celebrated 55 years of marriage on Jan. 27, 2001. His parents and his sister, Patricia Ann Thornton Manning of Florida, preceded him in death.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison with burial at Maplewood cemetery with the Revs. Rob Davis and Tommy Turner officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Knaub Pitts of Harrison; two daughters, Beverly Bear of Harrison and Roberta Parr of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; one son, Richard Pitts of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother, Billy J. Pitts of Palm Bay, Fla.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be the military honor guard.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ellen Isabel Seibert
Ellen Isabel Seibert, 82, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a retired advertising manager for Kmart and a retired accounting supervisor at Fort Chaffee Exchange. She was a lifetime member of DAV Auxiliary, American Legion and the First Lutheran Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday in First Lutheran Church in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one son, James Seibert of Pasadena, Md.; two brothers, William W. Green of Fort Smith and John J. Green of Dothan, Ala.; one niece, Marilynda Green Farris of Mountainburg; and three nephews, Phil Green of Searcy, Robert Green of Clinton, Miss., and David Green of Houston.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Linda Vaughn
Linda Vaughn, 58, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was an optician for the Eye Group, a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher for the senior girls, a choir member and a member of the Sweet Adeline Ladies Barber Shop Quartet.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Oak Cliff Baptist Church with burial at White Rock cemetery in White Rock Community under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one son, Shane Vaughn of Fort Smith; one sister, Cindy Fose of Fort Smith; and one nephew, Josh Fose of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be the men of Oak Cliff Baptist Church.

Harry Wilson
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Harry Wilson, 75, of Kansas City, Mo. died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, in Kansas City. He was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Pocahontas, Ark. and was a welder.
Funeral was held Wednesday in Bible Way Free Will Baptist Church in Cameron with burial at Greenhill cemetery in Cameron under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; three daughters, Linda Holbrook, Shirley Fox and Judy Bennetzen; 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Khamla Vannarath
Khamla Vannarath, 47, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2001, in a local hospital. He was an electrician for Air Systems Inc. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. The body will be cremated.
He is survived by his wife, Ammala; one daughter, Amita Vannarath of Fort Smith; two sons, Frankie and Osmond Vannarath, both of Fort Smith; two sisters, Khaougenn Vannarath and Sounath Sithisack, both of Vientrane, Laos; one brother, Khaomam Vannarath of Vientrane, Laos.
Roy Jones
ALMA — Roy Estel Jones, 88, of Alma died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, in his home. He was retired from Desoto Furniture Company after 33 years and he was the widower of Lucille Jones.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Sue Thomas of Mountainburg and Mary Estel Miller of Summerville, S.C.; two sons, James Dennis Jones of Cedarville and Edgar Alan Jones of Fort Smith; two sisters, Laura Jackson of Denton, Texas and Vern Yarbrough of Canton, Texas; one brother, Herbert of Arlington, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Chuck, Byran, and Rodney Thomas, James Jones, Bruce Burcham and David Winders. Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandsons and great-granddaughters.

OARK — Lona Lucille Stepp, 62, of Oark died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in Oark. She was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Salus Free Holiness Church with burial at Buckhorn cemetery in Fallsville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by her husband, Roy C.; one daughter, Gail Ray of Mena; three sons, Vernon, Bobby and Jeffrey Stepp, all of Oark; two sisters, Florence Marie Miller of Marble and Florence Bell Guess of Oklahoma; one brother, Charles Edmon Guess of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

HOWE — Eugene L. Robertson, 76, of Howe died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, in Poteau. He was born March 25, 1924, in Howe. He was retired from the Army.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Evans and Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Mountain View cemetery in Glendale.
He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Menglekoch of Phoenix, Janet Bixler and Terrie Mathis, both of Poteau; two sons, James David Robertson of Chandler, Okla. and John Wayne Robertson of Cushing, Okla.; one brother, Gail Robertson of Duncan, Okla.; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-granchildren.
Eugene Snipes
SCRANTON — Eugene Alton Snipes, 83, of Scranton died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in Scranton. He was a Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a retired carpenter, a member of V.F.W. and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at McKendree cemetery in Scranton.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene; two daughters, Lisa Ann Bradley and Janice Bailey of Rechett Canyon, Calif.; two sons, Joseph of Fort Smith and Bruce David of Tulsa; one sister, Ruth Claunch of Greenwood; one brother, Wilber Lee Snipes of Lemitar, N.M.; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Orvel Knight
ALMA — Orvel James Knight, 77, of Alma died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a self-employed mechanic and a member of Alma Full Gospel Outreach Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren with burial at Evergreen cemetery in Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Sandra and Sheila Knight both of Bloomfield, Mo. and Donna Kay Robinson of Alma; three stepdaughters, Anna May Carter of East Prairie, Mo., Patsy Gravil of Sikeston, Mo. and Cres Julian of Van Buren; two sons, Jerry of Prescott and Danny of St. Louis; four stepsons, Frank Finney of Winfield, Mo., Charles Finney of Mulberry, Edgar Finney of Fort Smith and Bud Finney of Van Buren; one brother, James Knight of New Orleans; 32 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scott and Charlie Finney Jr., Bradley and Ronnie Lee Julian Jr., Jorge Daponte, James Darden, Ronnie Julian Sr. and Chuck Finney.
Frances Thompson
CLARKSVILLE — Frances Thompson, 97, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, in her home. She was born March 21, 1903, in Cane Hill. She was a Red Cross volunteer during World War II and was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member and past president of Methodist Women’s Association and a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She served on Johnson County Library Board several years and compiled the history of Johnson County Library. She was the widow of Fletcher Thompson.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Kathy Robertson of Clarksville and Phyllis Tucker of Little Rock, three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Grabher, Ron Taylor, MIchael Webb, Howard Haasis, Robert Carter and Jess Thompson.

Lucille Hisaw
Lucille “Lou” Hisaw, 77, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of VFW, Ladies Auxiliary and was a Methodist. She was the widow of Lloyd R. Hisaw.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. The body will be cremated.
She is survived by one daughter, Cathy L. O’Neal of Cabot; one son, Ronnie R. Hisaw of Fort Smith; four sisters, Frances Davis, Betty Mills and Ruthie Daneshmayeh, all of Tulsa and Billie Higginbotham of Clovis, Calif.; and one granddaughter, Chelsea L. O’Neal.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Peggy Loree Downing
Peggy Loree Downing, age 63, of Fort Smith, formerly of Camarillo, Calif., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, in Fort Smith following a long illness.
Born July 20, 1937, in Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edna Smith. She graduated from Exeter High School in Exeter, Calif. and the Porterville Psychiatric Technician Training Program with a degree in Psychiatric Nursing Science where she met and married
Kenneth Downing. She worked for 27 years as a senior Psychiatric Technician and 5 years as the executive secretary at Camarillo State Hospital and Developmental Center. Peggy was very talented. She had a passion for decorating and was an accomplished artist. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Dana Quinn his wife Debbie, Dirk Downing and his wife Toni; grandchildren, Kasey Cleland, Crystal and Nicholas Downing, all of Camarillo, Calif., Wendy Downing of Georgia, Annette Dyer of Florida; and five great-grandchildren. He husband Kenneth Downing, her parents and sister, Shirley Mavis Smith preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn cemetery in Fort Smith. Arrangements are under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
