PARIS -- Darrell Gene Davison, 54, of Paris died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, in Tulsa. He was a member of Victory Christian Center in Tulsa. He was retired from Cloyes Gear Company in Paris.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at Horn cemetery in Subiaco.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lou (Henderson) Davison; one daughter, LaReta Jean Davison of Ozark; one son, Daren Gene Davison of Russellville; one sister, Chris Owens of Russellville; one brother, Harold Dean Davison of Subiaco; and five grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Russell Oliver

Russell G. Oliver Jr., 82, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, in a local hospital. He was a retired electrician, a member of Temple Baptist Church, a member of the V.F.W. and an Army veteran of World War II.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; one daughter, Sondra McGinnis of Fort Smith; one son, Stephan of Overland Park, Kan.; two sisters, Bonnie Devlin of Ozark and Juanita Kinney of San Leandro, Calif; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Randy McGinnis, Mark McGinnis, Kevin Gravett, Jerry Graham and Ronny Graham.

Bill McBride

VAN BUREN -- Bill McBride, 70, of Van Buren died Thursday, June 11, 1998, in a local hospital. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Van Buren, a retired businessman and owner of McBride Plumbing and Electric.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church of Van Buren. The body was cremated.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; two daughters, Pam Harris of Van Buren and Kimberly Thornton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three brothers, Jim of Van Buren, Bob of Jackson Gap, Ala., and Joe of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; and one grandchild, Amber Harris of Van Buren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church of Van Buren, 918 N. Ninth St., Van Buren, AR and the Humane Society of Sebastian County, P.O. Box 10943, Fort Smith, AR 72903.

David Sterner

MENA -- David "Tony" Sterner, 21, of Mena died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, in a local hospital. He worked in construction.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Cherry Hill Methodist Church in Mena with burial at Cherry Hill cemetery in Mena under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.

He is survived by his parents, David K. Sterner of Greenville, Texas, and Reba Bowling of Mena; two sisters, Charlotte Faye Vaught and Sharon Kaye Maechler, both of Mena; his grandparents, Charles and Eddlene Sterner of Mena; two nieces; and two nephews.

Betty Powell

OZARK -- Betty Lou Martin Powell, 60, of Ozark died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, in Ozark. She was a homemaker, a member of V.F.W. Post 6654 and a member of the Old Country Church.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Highland cemetery in Ozark.

She is survived by her husband, Willis R. "Dub" Powell of Ozark; two daughters, Deborah Haney of Coal Hill and Anita Jones of Alix; two sons, Robert and Clifford, both of Stigler; her mother, Jewell Stone of Ozark; one sister, Shirley Martin of Fayetteville; six brothers, Floyd Martin and Boyd Martin, both of Freemont, Calif., Lewis Martin and Jerry Martin, both of Ozark, Paul Martin of West Fork and Mike Martin of Roswell, N.M.; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Roy McKinney

Roy Gene McKinney, 52, of Fort Smith died Thursday, June 11, 1998, in a local hospital. He was a retired dairy farmer.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Steep Hill cemetery in Fort Smith.

He is survived by one daughter, Gloria Jones of Greenwood; one stepson, Jeff Kremers of Greenwood; one sister, Darla Vandermillion of Fort Smith; six brothers, Harold of Hackett, Sammy and Jimmy, both of Booneville, George of Jenny Lind, Allen of Lavaca and Bobby of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Plank, Brad Plank, Rex Ragsdale, Berry McKinney, Harold McKinney and Brian McKinney.

Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Billie Bedford

MULDROW -- Billie Bedford, 64, of Muldrow died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Muskogee with burial at Memorial Park in Muskogee under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Ft. Gibson.

She is survived by her husband, Don of Muldrow; two sons, Keith of Kress, Texas, and Lee of Muldrow; three daughters, Donna Green of Greenwood, Carole DeWitt of Danville and Dianne Shewmaker of Maumelle; one brother, Don Steele of Ft. Gibson; four sisters, Cherry Bedford of Danville, Linda Stockstill of Wagoner, Janice Gabriel of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Kathy Tisdale of Sugarland, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Stockstill, Harold Stockstill, Larry Steele, Jim Steele and Dusty Bonds.

John Stepp

OZONE -- John E. Stepp, 78, of Ozone died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, in Clarksville. He was a retired timber worker.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oark cemetery in Oark.

He is survived by his mother, Clarsie Margaret Stepp; two sisters-in-law, Helen Stepp of Arleta, Calif. and Hazel Stepp of Spadra; and one brother, William Albert Stepp of Oark.

Pallbearers will be David Stepp, Dennis Stepp, Alan Hill, Eugene Hill, Sam Stokes and Kenny Stepp.

The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mary Brown

Mary Frances Brown, 73, of Fort Smith died Thursday, June 11, 1998, in Fort Smith. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Booneville.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; one daughter, Raelene Plummer of Fort Smith; one sister, Tensie McCormick of Plainsview, Texas; and three grandchildren, Aimee, Chris and Chad Plummer, all of Fort Smith.

Pallbearers will be Ken McCormick, Gary McCormick, Chris Plummer, Chad Plummer, Keith Plummer and Wayne King.

Exene Bumpers

Exene Benefield Bumpers, 92, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, in a local hospital. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a retired real estate broker, a retired music instructor from Harding College, a former member of the Fort Smith Symphony Board of Directors and a member of the Fort Smith Musical Coterie.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

She is survived by one cousin, Yvonne Pendery of Dallas.

Jeanette Bray

CLARKSVILLE -- Jeanette Perkins Bray, 75, of Clarksville died Thursday, June 11, 1998, in a Little Rock hospital. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Russellville, a retired house parent of the Presbyterian Chidren's Home in Waxahachie, Texas, and the widow of Ralph Bray.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.

She is survived by one daugther, Sandra Lamb of Clarksville; one son, Ralph Vaughn Bray Jr. of Clarksville; two sisters, Janie Hale of Waxahachie and Sue Swensen of Ontario, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Sam Jones, Anthony Bray, Nicholas Saldecki, John Baker, Dennis Brearley and Tommy Hale.

The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Leequaila Johnson

GANS -- Leequaila Elaine West Johnson, 29, of Gans died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Central High School in Sallisaw and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Sallisaw.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Pentecostal Church of God in Sallisaw with burial at Akins cemetery northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.

She is survived by her husband, Chris; her parents, Judith and Frank West of Gans; her grandparents, Jettie Andrews Anderson of Sallisaw and Josie West of Oakley, Kan.; one sister, Tracy Lynn West of North Pole, Alaska; and six brothers, Norman West and Ronnie Hayes, both of Oklahoma City, Jason West and Frank Streeter West, both of Sallisaw, Cory West of Lawrence, Kan., and Travis Andrews of Afton, Okla.

Pallbearers will be Paul Gibson, Matt Gibson, Travis Andrews, Shane Johnson, Douglas Bethel and Streeter West.

Fred Smith

SCOTT COMMUNITY -- Fred Junior Smith, 57, of Scott Community, Okla., died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, in Fort Smith. He was employed by Whirlpool Corp. and a member of Assembly of God in Dora.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Mulrow with burial at Liberty cemetery northwest of Roland.

He is survived by his wife, Grace of Scott Community; one daughter, Fredda Lynn Sutton of Scott Community; three brothers, James Smith and Leo Smith, both of Scott Community and Billy Ray Smith of Fort Smith; and two grandsons, Brian Douglas Sutton and Joshua Dewayne Sutton, both of Scott Community.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Bessie Broom

SPRIO -- Bessie Broom, 94, of Spiro died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a former member of United Methodist Church of Spiro.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

She is survived by one son, Willis Vandagriff of Sulphur, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Vivian Spilger

HARTFORD -- Vivian Jean Spilger, 73, of Hartford died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and an artist.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield with burial at Shiloh cemetery near Hartford.

She is survived by her husband, George; nine daughters, Suzie Krumrie of Buchanan, Mich., Sandra Daniel of Lincoln Park, Mich., Delphine Purser of Bowling Green, Fla., Kathy Woolbright of Mansfield, Carol Kibler of Watervliet, Mich., Debby Kilisz of Ann Arbor, Mich., Mary Brown of Baton Rouge, La., Rosalee Oliver of Hartford and Patricia Struble of Benton Harbor, Mich.; four sons, Mike Kilisz of Bowling Green, Fla., Hubert Lee Costigan Jr. of Hartford, Robert Lee Costigan of Blytheville, and Frank Costigan of Hartford; one stepson, George Peter IV of Stevenville, Mich.; one sister, Rosalee Bentley of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Robert Runyon of Columbus, Ohio, and Damon Russ of Booneville; 40 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bill Krumrie, Hubert Lee Costigan, Robert Lee Costigan, Frank Costigan, Michael Kilisz and Denny Brown.

Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ethel Louise Stanley, 33, of Fort Smith died Thursday, June 11, 1998, in a local hospital.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oak Valley cemetery south of Lavaca under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home Chapel of Fort Smith.

She is survived by her mother, Betty Stanley of Fort Smith; her maternal grandmother, Lillie Middlebrooks of Fort Smith; three sisters, Diane Tran of Connecticut, Debbie Stanley of Wilkesboro, N.C., and Cynthia Paschal of Fort Smith; two brothers, William Molina and Robert Riviera, both of Fort Smith; and seven nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be from noon to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William Shopfner

William "Dutch" Shopfner, 90, of Salinas, Calif., formerly of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, in Salinas. He was a former employee of Fort Smith Couch and Bedding.

Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Newberry cemetery in Alma under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

He is survived by three daughters, Carol Cassey of San Jose, Calif., Debby Ochinang of Salinas, and Jodie Sherman of Carmel Valley, Calif.; a son, Johnny of Salinas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Lester Ragan

SHADY POINT -- Lester Ragan, 84, of Shady Point, Okla., died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, in a Poteau hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Free Will Baptist Church of Panama.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, in the Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Shady Point cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; a brother, Jack Kinsey of Panama; two grandchildren, Terrick Ragan of Shady Point and Taira Wilson of Labanon, Ore.; five great-grandchildren.

Macie Smith

POTEAU -- Macie E. Smith, 71, of Poteau, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in her home. She was retired from the Department of Human Services after 29 years of service.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, in Evans Chapel of Memories with burial at Oakland cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Gracie and Ned Armstrong of Kingman, Ariz., and Jackie Inez and Don Cooper of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
