Bessie Frances Bowlin

Bessie Frances Bowlin, 94, of Walcott, died Wednesday, August 4th, 2004, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born August 28, 1909, in Walcott, Mrs. Bowlin was a retired dorm mother at A.S.U.

She was a member of the Walcott Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Essie May of Walcott and Pearlie Wilcox of Calverton, New York; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Gilbertson of Knoxville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Donnie Mack Bowlin, Jr., of Franklin, Tennessee, and Deanna Slagle of Knoxville, Tennessee; and two great grandchildren, Jay and Laura Slagle of Knoxville.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ab and Dora Newsom; her first husband, Hubert Bowlin; her second husband, Jones Jetton; one son, Donnie Mack Bowlin, Sr.; two brothers, Ovel Newsom and Wake Newsom and by one half-sister, Tilda May.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

Funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m., at the Walcott Baptist Church, with Tom Elliott officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pall Bearers will be nephews, Paul Dean May, Argene May, Chester May, Jackie May, W.D. Newsom, and Kevin May.

Debra Lawson

Graveside Services for Debra (Johnson, Ramer, Rawls) Lawson have been scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Combs Cemetery in Melbourne, Arkansas.

The cemetery is on HWY 9, South of Melbourne.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.

Debra Jane Lawson was born August 19, 1952 at Walnut Ridge, Arkansas the daughter of Loyal Austin "Bud" and Muriel (Grady) Johnson.

She died Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital.

She was 51 years of age.

Debra was a 1970 graduate of Stanford Arkansas High School.

She was a homemaker and attended the Pentecostal Church.

She was formerly from the Walnut Ridge, Arkansas area but had resided in Durant and Tulsa for many years.

She requested that she would be honored if anyone would like to make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation at 1-800-622-9010 or www.kidney.org.

Debbie has always been a very beautiful and special lady to those who knew her.

She was adored and loved and will be deeply missed by many friends and family.

Louise Mary Potts

Louise Mary Potts, 79, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at National Health Care, Desloge, Missouri.

A former department store clerk, Mrs. Potts was born November 21, 1924, in Greene County.

Survivors include one son, John W. Potts of Desloge, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Eder Potts of Dittmer, Missouri; one stepsister, Geraldine Long of Paragould; and a nephew, Richard Mayo of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Richmond; her mother, Anna Mae Ennis; her husband, Vernon H. Potts; two brothers, Fred Richmond and Jay Richmond and by a sister, Betty L. Ripa.

Visitation will be from 9:00-9:45 a.m., Saturday, at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould, with a graveside service following at 10:00 a.m., at Linwood Cemetery.

Gladys Ware

Memorial services for 59 year old Gladys Ware of Marmaduke, who passed away on July 31, will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Marmaduke First Baptist Church with Pastor Kim Bridges presiding.

Gladys Ware was greatly loved and will be missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her mother, two brothers, a sister, a daughter, a son and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be August 6 at 7 p.m.

Freda C. Stuart

Freda C. Stuart, 84, of Paragould, died on Friday, October 8, 2004, at her residence.

She was born on December 19, 1919, in Greene County, Arkansas.

Mrs. Stuart was retired from Ed White Shoe Factory and a member of the Wood's Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include: her son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Connie Stuart of Paragould, Arkansas, two grandchildren: Marla Nailling of Lafe, Arkansas, and Melissa Johnson of Paragould, four great-grandchildren; Brandon Gramling, Tyler Nailling, Erika Johnson and Matthew Johnson.

Mrs. Stuart was preceded in death by: her parents: Charles and Grace McDaniel, her husband: Marlin "Mott" Stuart, one sister: Stella McDaniel, a brother: Weldon B. McDaniel and her twin brother: Fred McDaniel.

Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Monday in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Soward officiating, burial will follow in Wood's Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. today at the Mitchell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include: Weldon Chesser, Orland Crail, Dee Stuart, Joe Anderson, J.C. Anderson, Mike Stuart, Billy Nailling and Steve Johnson.

The family would like memorials to the St. Bernard's Hospice.

Ida Mae Allison

Ida Mae Allison, age 75, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Mississippi, Miss Allison lived in Lake City before moving to Jonesboro in 1958.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert L. and Robbie Howle Allison; and by 3 brothers: James Allison, John R. Allison and Howard Allison.

Survivors include:

1 Sister: Robbie Ellen Cooper of Paragould; and

several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Don Vuncannon officiating.

A graveside committal service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in Scobey, Mississippi with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held this evening from 6-8 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the Pierce Cemetery Assn., C/O Mary Allison, 1016 Kitchen, Jonesboro, AR, 72401.

Evelyn Luttrell

Evelyn Luttrell, born June 3, 1929, died December 23, 2004, at 75 years of age.

Mrs. Luttrell was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pat and Murtie Wyatt; her husband, Bob Luttrell; one son, Bill Wyatt; three brothers, Charlie, Carlos and Louis Wyatt; and three sisters, Bobie White, Ellen Ramer and Dealie Hale.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Nick Carter of Marmaduke, Arkansas; one sister, Ealie Gibbs of Lafe, Arkansas; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Nicole Carter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel of Rector, Arkansas.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mildred Panhorst Bridges

Mildred Panhorst Bridges, 79, of Cordova, Tennessee, died December 29, 2004, at the McKendree Village Nursing Home in Hermitage, Tennessee.

She was retired from Holiday Inns as Supervisor of Printing and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her husband O.D. Bridges; parents, Martin and Leona Scheer Panhorst and one brother Charles Panhorst.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Philip Bridges of Starkville, Mississippi, and Charles Bridges of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; brother, Norman Panhorst of Paragould and one sister Sandra Lilly of Jonesboro; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 P.M. Saturday with the Funeral service at 3:30 P.M. at the Heath Colonial Chapel.

Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Paragould Childrens Home.

Russell Andrew Shatley

Russell Andrew Shatley, 97, of Cardwell, Missouri, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born December 24, 1907, in Paragould, Mr. Shatley was a retired custodian and bus driver for the Greene County Tech School District.

He was a member of the Calvary Full Gospel Church of Cardwell.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Arlena Shatley of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Hughlen D. and Deloris Shatley of Paragould, Curtis D. and Dianna Shatley of Jonesboro; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ewald B and Dennis Frontz of Old Hickory, Tennessee, Sharon and Jimmie Burroughs of Hermitage, Tennessee, and Carla D. Swindle of Paragould. He is also survived by a sister, Glenevee Jones of Fennville, Michigan; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alline Shatley; his parents, Andrew J. and Melinda Rose Shatley; one son-in-law, Leon Swindle; infant triplets; three brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00-9:00, at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

The funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Leland Jim Dement officiating.

Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and granddaughters as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials to Calvary Full Gospel Church, Cardwell, would be appreciated.

Marjorie Schuh Edrington

Marjorie Schuh Edrington, 83, of Paragould, died Tuesday, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of First Baptist Church, Paragould.

Survivors include her husband, James C. Edrington of the home; two sons, Dan S. Edrington of Benton, Arkansas and Wright Edrington of Germantown, Tennessee. She is also survived by one sister, Betty Jo Mizell of Greenville, Texas; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one step great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wright and Irma Schuh; one son, David T. Edrington; and one sister, Charlotte Johnson.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould.

The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Scott Neathery officiating.

Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.

Memorials to First Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated.

Shirley Ann Morgan

Shirley Ann Morgan, 70, of Paragould died Tuesday, at the NEA Medical Center. Born October 1, 1935, in Beech Grove, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Wesley Duke Camp of Clay City, Indiana; three daughters, Rosie Allison and Nola Mae Morgan, both of Paragould and Julie Straub of Manor, Texas. She is also survived by two brothers, Wendell Norwood of Paragould, Donald Norwood of Stanford; two sisters, Emma Lou Felty of Stanford, Reba Smith of Paragould; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Gladys Norwood; two sons, Jimmy Lewis Camp and James Leon Morgan; and by two sisters, Genola Norwood and Loretta Bruner.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, Paragould, with marion Gramling officiating.

Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Mitchell Funeral Home.

James Randal Sims

James Randal Sims, 80, of Proctor, Ark., passed away April 18, 2006 at is residence in Proctor.

Mr. Sims, a U.S. Army Veteran, was born February 17, 1926, in paragould, Ark., to the late James Ezra and Lora (Hyde) Sims.

He is survived by his wife, Sherman Ann (Flowers) Sims of Proctor, Ark., one son, Chris Sims of Russellville, Ark., two daughters, Becky Turpin and Sherry Lassiter both of Proctor, two sisters, Betty Blankinship of Sikeston, Mo. and Mary Alice Farrell of Paragould, Ark., two brothers, Ben and Jerry Sims both of Paragould, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Madelyn Jean Upchurch

Madelyn Upchurch, infant daughter of David and Linsey (Brown) Upchurch of Paragould, went to join the angels Sept. 11, 2008.

She is survived by her parents; two brothers, Connor and Alexander Upchurch; and a sister, Laney Upchurch; her grandparents, Donald and Sharon Upchurch and Kelly Ring, all of Paragould; along a host of special aunts and uncles.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Harvey’s Chapel cemetery with Andy Smith officiating.
