Norma Burchfield
Norma Jean Burchfield, 78, of Molalla, Ore., formerly of Houston, Ark., died Sunday Jan. 7, 2007.
A daughter of the late Earl Linebarger and the late Cora Rogers, she was born on Oct. 26, 1928, in Houston.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Burchfield of Foley, Ala.; five daughters, Linda Johnson of Woodburn, Ore., Debra Ward of Milwaukee, Ore., Cynthia Braunstein and Natasha Meshaya, both of Molalla, Ore., Rebecca Kelly of Navarre, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hope Cemetery, near Perryville. Services and arrangements are by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home of Morrilton.
J.D. Kendrick
J.D. Kendrick, 83, of Whitehaven, Calif., died Dec. 10, 2006.
He was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Adona, to Cleve and Viola (Fowler) Kendrick.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Kendrick; two children, Carroll Wayne Kendrick of Los Angeles and Gloris Ann McFee of Orlando, Fla; two sisters, Pauline Walden of Perry and Lillie Mae Harris of Casa; and five grandchildren.
Graveside service was held at Desert Lawn Cemetery
in Yuma, Ariz.
Nellie Underwood
Nellie V. Underwood, 99, of Perryville, Ark., passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007.
She was born July 18, 1907, in Houston, Ark., a daughter of Earl B. Edmondson and Ora (Lawson) Edmondson. She was a homemaker and member of Houston Assembly of God.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Earl Underwood of Nimrod and Joe Underwood of Mablevale; one daughter, Rita Benson of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at May Cemetery

Anna Wheeler
Anna Mae Wheeler, 71, of Morrilton, Ark., passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007.
She was born July 6, 1935, in Birdtown, Ark., a daughter of the late Cloud P. Gilliam. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Wheeler of Morrilton; son, Calvin Dale Wheeler and wife Patricia of Pea Ridge; daughter, Tracey Andrews and husband John Russell Andrews of Center Ridge; mother, Mae Gilliam of Birdtown; three brothers, D.C. and James Gilliam, both of Birdtown, and Joseph Ray Gilliam of Solgohachia; two sisters, Margie Stobaugh and Elfreda Johnson, both of Center Ridge; five grandchildren, Hollie Linam and husband Jared, Hilary Hubbard and husband Brandon, and Nicholas, Justin and Sophia Andrews; and five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Westin, Brennen, Brady and Bella.

Willa ‘Faye’ Price
Willa “Faye” Price, 77, of Springfield died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006.
She was born Oct. 23, 1929, to Alex and Ruby Sledge. She was a self-employed beautician and a lifelong dedicated member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Claude Sledge of Morrilton; one son, Michael Price of Springfield; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Jan. 3, at the Springfield Cemetery
with Bro. Roy Lander officiating.
Ollie Flewellen
Ollie Francis Flewellen, 66, of Perryville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007.
He was born May 7, 1940, in Nimrod, Ark., a son of Curtis Uell Flewellen and Helen Mae (Lyon) Flewellen. He was retired from Arkansas Kraft, an ordained deacon and member of Nimrod Baptist Church, Arkansas National Guard, Master Mason, 32nd degree Scottish Rite, and Perryville Masonic Lodge No. 238.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Paulette (Bailey) Flewellen of Perryville; one son, Timothy Ray Flewellen of Perryville; two brothers, Jessie Flewellen of Lodi, Calif., and Wayne Flewellen of Perryville; six sisters, Imogene James of Nimrod, Ruth Campbell of Benton, Ruby Etzberger of Perryville, Evelyn Duncan of Nimrod, Lorene Melton of Perryville, and Joyce Hubbard of DeValls Bluff; three granddaughters, Gracie Holland and husband Justin of Perryville and Lauren and Lexi Flewellen, both of Perryville; one great-grandson, Riley Holland of Perryville; and one great-granddaughter, Audrie Holland of Perryville.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Perryville Assembly of God with Bro. Buddy Wroten and Bro. Dusty Day officiating. Burial was at Thornburg Cemetery

‘Pretch’ Edwards
Owen “Pretch” Edwards, 91, of Morrilton, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2007.
He was born July 1, 1915, in Damascus, Ark., a son of Jess Edwards and Malisace (Duncan) Edwards. He was a cattle farmer, of the Baptist faith a and member of Doric No. 471 Free and Accepted Masons of Damascus, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Sherrill (Scroggin) Edwards; one daughter, Joyce Douglas of Gravesville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Doen Edwards; and two brothers, Owlen and Earl Edwards.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at the Harris Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Corder and the Rev. Von D. Mooney officiating. Burial was at Old Salem Cemetery

Rose Paladino
Rose (Ferricher) Paladino, 95, of Morrilton, passed away Sunday, Jan . 14, 2007.
She was born Sept. 12, 1911, in St. Vincent, Ark., a daughter of Kasimer Ferricher and Josephine (Zimmerman) Ferricher. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Altar Society at Center Ridge and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in her later years. She was the widow of Frank Angelo Paladino after 61 years of marriage.
Survivors include two sons, Rocky A. Paladino of North Little Rock and Raymond Paladino of Center Ridge; six daughters, Cecilia Enright of Chicago, Ill., Jo Ann Hiatt and Patricia Moix, both of North Little Rock, and Diane Beck, Mary Chapman and Barbara Wiedower, all of Morrilton; 22 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Frank Moix; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Center Ridge with Father Charles Thessing, Father John Yates, and Father Greg Luyet officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery

Troy Perkins
Troy Lee Perkins, 71, of Morrilton died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007.
He was born March 31, 1935, in Conway, a son of Calvin and Eliza (Davis) Perkins. He was a member of Hickory Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a graduate of Sullivan High School. He was a 20-year veteran of the Marine Corps and served in the Vietname War. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Little Rock and also drove for a trucking firm.
Survivors include one son, Troy Perkins Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; and one daughter, Cathy Perkins of Union City, Calif.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday at Hickory Hill Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles Brown. Burial was at Hickory Hill Cemetery

William Heuel
William Frances Heuel, 60, of Perryville, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006.
He was born Sept. 30, 1946, in Little Rock, a son of Harvey Heuel and Rosemond Heuel. Mr. Heuel was a Vietnam veteran and retired service meat manager for Kroger.
Survivors include his wife, Melody Ann (Lowe) Heuel; one son, Jason Heuel of Thornburg; one brother, two sisters, and one granddaughter.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Billy Wood
Billy Wayne Wood, 61, of Perryville passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007.
He was born Sept. 27, 1945, in Missouri, a son of the late Sylvan Edmond Wood and Evelyn Lee (McCage) Wood.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Williams) Wood of Atkins; three sons; five daughters; four stepchildren; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; one brother, James Wood of Houston, Ark.; four sisters, Peggy Higgins of Morrilton, Mary Eddins of Florida, Edna Eddy of Morrilton, and Wanda Jennings of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Marcum.

Ulion Anderson
Ulion Anderson, 74, of Adona, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007. He was born Jan. 12, 1933, in Ada Valley, a son of William Henry Anderson and Stella (Lucas) Anderson. He was a cattle farmer, an avid coyote hunter and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his three brothers, Shirl Anderson, James E. Anderson and Earl Anderson, all of Adona.

Henry Taylor
Henry Lee Taylor, 63, of Plumerville, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 23, 1943, to Stella Payne Taylor and the late LeRoy Taylor in Plumerville. He was the widower of Irene Gant Taylor.
Survivors include three sons, Deon Earl Taylor and Bertrum Taylor, both of Topeka, Kan., and Henry Taylor Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Zeda Taylor of Topeka, Kan., and Ivory Taylor of Seattle, Wash.; mother, Stella Taylor of Plumerville; two brothers, Roy Lee Taylor of Plumerville and Bobby C. Taylor of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Willie B. Hervey and Ruby Hull, both of Plumerville, and Mae Ruth Porter of Kansas City, Kan.; and nine grandchildren.

Mary Harlan
Mary Nell Harlan, 72, of Conway, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at her home.
She was born Sept. 24, 1934, in Mount Vernon, to Francis Marion and Margaret Anne “Annie” Starr. She was a member of Highway 65 Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, John Edward Harlan; one daughter, Julie Kemper of Conway; one son, Jackie Harlan of Morrilton; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Friday, 10 a.m., at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock by Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. Scriptures and eulogies were by Bill Crowe, Ricky Barnett and Jeffrey Kemper.
Pallbearers were Nathen Kemper, Jeffrey Kemper, Bradley Johnson, Sonny Hill, Lawrence Starr and Orlin Bartley.

Idell Wardlow, 51, of Conway died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007.
She was born Oct. 26, 1955, in Conway to Walter Wardlow Sr. and Rosetta (Rogers) Wardlow. She was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Church in Conway.
Survivors include one daughter, Armetha Ratliff of Conway; and two sisters, Velma Davie and Mildred Smith, both of Conway.

Ortha Kendrick
Ortha (Teeter) Kendrick, 94, of Russellville, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007.
The daughter of James and Ada (Judkins) Teeter, she was born Jan. 30, 1912, on Crow Mountain. She was employed by the Atkins Pickle Plant and Van Atkins Department Store, where she was in charge of alterations. She was a charter member of Welcome Hill Assembly of God on Crow Mountain. She was also a member of the Russellville First Assembly of God and an active member of the Women’s Ministries. She was the widow of Lyle Kendrick.
Survivors include her daughter, Lila Kay Jones of Russellville; two brothers, T.N. Teeter and Ben Teeter, both of Russellville; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service were 2 p.m. Saturday at Russellville First Assembly of God with the Rev. Earl Roy Teeter and the Rev. Keith Underhill officiating. Burial was at Bowden Cemetery
on Crow Mountain by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Jewell Seekins
Jewel Mae (Crumpley) Seekins, 72, of Morrilton, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2007.
She was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Jericho Springs, Missouri, a daughter of William Lester Crumpley and Mildred Georgia (Hutchins) Crumpley. She was the widow of Delbert Seekins who passed away Dec. 29, 2006. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Seekins and wife Deborah of Morrilton, Todd Seekins and wife Anita of Bloomfield, Kentucky, and Kenny Seekins of Dover, Delaware; one brother, Kenton Crumpley of Kaysville, Utah; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Donna Seekins.

Willa ‘Faye’ Price
Willa “Faye” Price, 77, of Springfield, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 29, 2006.
She was brought into this glorious world on October 23, 1929, to Alex and Ruby Sledge. Although she was a self-employed beautician all of her life, her true love lied in her worship for the Lord where she was a lifelong dedicated member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by one brother, Claude Sledge of Morrilton; one son, Michael Price of Springfield; and one granddaughter, Michelle and her husband Donnie Pace of Conway. She is preceded in death by her son, Jerry Dewayne Price; brother, Ray Sledge; and both of her parents.
Faye will be remembered for her million-dollar smile, the joy she had for music, and, of course, her love for animals.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on January 3, 2007, at the Springfield Cemetery
with Brother Roy Lander officiating.
