Mary McCuin
Mary Rose Audio McCuin, 85, of Alameda, Calif., formerly of Plumerville, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005.
She was born a daughter of John Audio and Kathy Frata Audio on Jan. 21, 1920. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alameda. She was the widow of Alac McCuin.
Survivors include one brother, Joe Astorino of San Seandro, Calif.; three sisters, Florince Rusky of Dublin, Calif., Eda Roast of Newark, Calif., and Geniuie Gones of San Lerado, Calif.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was 2 p.m. Thursday at the Halbrook Cemetery
in Center Ridge. Arrangements were by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home.
Lela Powell
Lela Marie (Mulligan) Powell, 95, of Solgohachia, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005.
She was born in Appleton, Sept. 29, 1909, a daughter of Albert Mulligan and Ossie (Ramsey) Mulligan. She was the widow of Earnest Powell. She was a member of the Overcup Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald Powell of Morrilton, and Tommy Powell of Bryant; one daughter, Jean McComb of Kansas; one sister, Wanda Perdue of California; one brother, Harold Mulligan of Oregon; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday at Bob Neal and Sons Chapel. Interment was at Campground Cemetery. Services and arrangements by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Lenora Sandell
Lenora Bell Harris Sandell, 92, of Odessa, Texas, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005.
She was born Nov. 29, 1912, in Perry County, where she was raised and attended school. She was a member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church of Odessa, and she worked as a seamtress.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Albert and Martha (Morgan) Holbrook; husband, Odis Harris; second husband, Ralph Sandell; brothers, John Alvis Holbrook and Willie Holbrook; sister, Connie Phillips; and son, John Harris.
Survivors include two sons, James “Jim” Harris and wife Linda of Odessa and Jerry Harris and wife Sylia of El Fuerte, Sinaloa, Mexico; and brother, Lonnie Holbrook of Perryville, 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Odessa, with Jess Little officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Winifred Singleton
Winifred Lucille Singleton, 74, of Plumerville, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005.
She was born June 26, 1930, in Hattieville, a daughter of George Wesley Bridges and Guyron Grace (McReynolds) Bridges. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and the widow of Robert Singleton.
Survivors include one son, Herbert Blane Lay of Plumerville; one sister, Glenda Chism of Morrilton; and one brother, G.W. Bridges of Morrilton.
Graveside service was 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Plummerville Cemetery
with Bro. Rodney Castleberry officiating. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were David Chism, Todd Chism, Dickie Reynolds, John Gamble, Bobby Epperson, J.C. Frazier, and Eddie Reynolds.
Richard Stein
Richard Frank “Boots” Stein, 81, of Morrilton, formerly of Searcy, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005.
He was a retired farmer, World War II veteran, and former VFW Post Commander in Searcy.
Survivors include his wife Thelma Kathleen (Carter) Stein of Searcy; one daughter, Debbie Roberson of Morrilton; one sister, Alma Jasper of Paola, Kan.; two stepdaughters, three stepsons, three grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with interment immediately following at Oak Grove Cemetery
in Searcy.
Visitation will be tonight (Wednesday) from 6 to 8 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.
Raymond Story
Raymond Elmer Story, 55, of Houston, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005.
He was born June 6, 1949, in Cow Lake, to James M. and Opal Audrey (Pruitt) Story.
Survivors include siblings, William Dalton Story, Boyce Wayne Story, Esther Juanita Anderson, and Hershel Story, all of Houston, James Albert Story of Heber Springs, Roger Harold Story of Morrilton, Louise Hefter, Eugene Story, Malla Bray, and Clyde Story, all of Bradford, and Nancy Bridges of Vilonia.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, Conway.
Tom Turbeville
Thomas Riley Turbeville, Sr., age 80, of Houston, Arkansas, died Monday, February 28, 2005.
He was born February 9, 1925, in Curtis, Arkansas, a son of Thomas Earl Turbeville and Lucy Elia Turbeville. He was top operator at Green Bay Packaging at Morrilton and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Turbeville served most recently as Sunday School Superintendent at Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
He received several accommodations during his two tours of duty in WWII,; among those were a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, WWII Victory Medal, and three Overseas Bars. Part of his tour was served in Patton’s 3rd Army.
He is survived by his wife, Sally (Renfrow) Turbeville of Houston; stepsons, Lee Cates of Houston, David Cates and wife Brenda of Rover, Tim Cates and wife Connie of Ada Valley, and Larry Cates and wife Holly of Williams Junction; stepdaughter, Cheryl Price, and husband Danny of Petit Jean; brothers, Alvin Turbeville, David Turbeville and Jerry Turbeville; sisters, Francis Downey, Imogene Rowland and Nancy Moody; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Geneva (Huddleston) Turbeville.
He was also preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Gladys Viola Turbeville. Their surviving children are sons, Tom R. Turbeville, Jr. and wife Beverly of Houston, John R. Turbeville and wife Jan of Little Rock, and Ron E. Turbeville of Freeport, Texas, who is preceded by his wife Lucy Turbeville; daughters, Melba M. Arruda and husband Dick of Ridgecrest, California, and Delba D. Parrish and husband Mike of Flippin, Arkansas; and a host of other children and relatives.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today (Wednesday), March 2, at Perryville Assembly of God with Bro. Ruben Leach and Bro. Buddy Wroten officiating. A committal service will be 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Cemetery
in Gurdon, Arkansas, by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.
Pallbearers were Mark Turbeville, Clinton Brown, Tommy Turbeville, Allen Thornberry, Cavan Turbeville, and Shane Price.
Peggy Watkins
Peggy Ann Payne Watkins, age 63, of Center Ridge, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005.
She was born May 19, 1941, in Morganton, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Edgar Earl Payne and Maggie Granger Payne. Mrs. Watkins was a quality control inspector for Con Agra Foods and of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Johnny Watkins; one son, Eddie Watkins of Center Ridge; one daughter, Kathy Atkinson of Center Ridge; two brothers, Charles Payne of Damascus and Winston Payne of Longview, Washington; six sisters, Emily Neighbors and Daisy Nelson, both of Bee Branch, Joyce Venable of Malvern, Catherine Griggs of Berryville, Judy Simmons of Scotland, and Elgivy Crull of Longview, Washington; four granddaughters, Elizabeth Watkins, Amanda Atkinson, Amber Atkinson, and Amelia Atkinson.
She was preceded in death by brothers Thomas Payne and Earl Payne and sisters Oneta Bird, Norma Snyder and Louella Yeager.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Sunny Side New Hope Church with Bro. Larry Teas and Bro. Eldridge Snow officiating. Burial will be at Lost Corner Cemetery

Winona Quinney
Winona Quinney, 87, of Morrilton, formerly of North Little Rock, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005.
She was a charter member of Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. She attended University of Central Arkansas, formerly Arkansas Teachers College. She was born in Plainview to William Gray Thomas and Mazie McPherson. She was the widow of Ben Quinney.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat Williams of Morrilton; a son, Ben Quinney of Shreveport, La., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock. Interment will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church.
T.Q. ‘Teke’ Weiss
Thomas Quentin “Teke” Weiss died at his home in Hernando, Miss., on Friday, Feb. 4, 2005.
Retired from Weiss Poultry and Egg Co. in Little Rock, he and his wife, Coralie, enjoyed many happy years on Harris Brake Lake. They loved their friends at Perryville United Methodist Church and their neighbors on Pine Valley Loop. Poor health caused them to move closer to their family to Wesley Meadows Retirement Community in Hernando, Miss.
He leaves his wife of 68 years, Coralie (Shaffer) Weiss; their daughter, Betty Stoker and her husband, Ira: two grandchildren, Randy Smith and his wife, Caryn, and Leanne Smith; two great-grandchildren; a brother, David Weiss of Hot Springs and his wife, Joann; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Sunday, Feb. 6, in Jackson, Tenn., his family’s hometown.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Earl Winifred Baskins
Winifred Macelree Baskins, 79, of Little Rock died Sunday, April 3, 2005.
She was born in Kiel, Wis., on June 18, 1925, to the Rev. James and Harriet Garrard MacElree. She was a naval nurse, having served during the Korean Conflict. Mrs. Baskins was a member of Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, William Baskins; five children, Bruce Baskins of Little Rock, Winifred Nowlin of Little Rock, Julia Bunten of Little Rock, Doretta Downs of Atkins, and Barbara Mateus of Marys-ville, Calif.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Floyd Whatley officiating. Burial with 
military honors will follow at Elmwood Cemetery
in Morrilton. Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home.
Ralph Bennett
Ralph K. Bennett, 54, of Perryville, died Thursday, March 31, 2005.
He was born July 20, 1950, in Lewisville, to Robert and Jean Bennett. He was a graduate of Hope High School and attended Henderson State College. He was a member of Adoration Church, Atkins.
Survivors include his wife, Pat (Byrd) Bennett; one son, Joshua Bennett, of Perryville; three sisters, Wanda Adcock of McNeil, Janice Jurls of Lewisville, and Linda Bennett of Hope.
A private memorial service was held by the Rev. J.W. Bobo at Bowden Cemetery, Crow Mountain, where his ashes were interred.
Gene Bradley
Gene Bradley, 71, of Boone-ville died Tuesday, March 29, 2005.
He was the athletic director and head football coach at Booneville High School for 15 years. He also served as football coach in the Alma, Morrilton, and McCrory school systems, for a total of 25 years. After retirement, he spent 10 years as the associate manager for the American General Life Insurance Co.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bradley; one son, Al Bradley of Fort Smith; one brother, Dalton Bradley of Oklahoma City, Okla., and one grandson.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Booneville with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery
in Boone-ville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Mary Etta Brown
Mary Etta Haydon Brown, 86, of North Little Rock, formerly of Oppelo, died Saturday, April 2, 2005.
She was born in Perry County on Aug. 29, 1918, to Lee and Maude Raney Haydon. She was a member of Levy Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William Adam Brown; two sons, William Haydon Brown of North Little Rock and David Joseph Brown of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Rebecca Maude Ellis of Conway; one sister, Reba Nell Bailey of El Camino, Calif.; two brothers, Bill Harrell Haydon of Little Rock and Dan Haydon of Conway; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Maybelle Coates
Maybelle Powell Coates, age 94, of Morrilton, Arkansas, died Monday, April 4, 2005. She was born March 25, 1911, in Conway, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Terrell and Belle Jones Powell.
Mrs. Coates taught in Arkansas public schools for 36 years. She held a BSE from the University of Central Arkansas and a MSE from the University of Arkansas. She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Hospital Auxiliary and Downtown Church of Christ.
Mrs. Coates is survived by two nieces, Karen Jackman and Martha Stone; two nephews, Rayburn Powell, John Powell; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Coates, and five brothers.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Harris Chapel with Mr. Randy Rankin officiating. Burial will be at May Cemetery
by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Beverly O’Bryant Gilton
Beverly Joy O’Bryant Gilton, 61, of Sparkman died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at her home.
She was born Aug. 24, 1943, in Morrilton, the daughter of Ralph L. and Juanita E. Perry O’Bryant. She was a owner and operator of a flower shop, a homemaker, and a member of the Sparkman First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Dallas County Museum Board, Sparkman Lions Club and chairman of the Sparkman Community Pantry.
Survivors include her husband, Leland Ray Gilton; two stepsons, Dr. Terry Gilton of Boise, Idaho, and Michael Gilton of LaCrescenta, Calif.; two daughters, Heather K. Joslin of Memphis, Tenn., and Kelli K. Hoyt of Greenwood; two brothers, Jimmie O’Bryant of Hot Springs and Ralph O’Bryant of Hawaii; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday in the Sparkman First Baptist Church with Dr. Preben Vang officiating. Interment was in the Sparkman Cemetery
under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkdelphia.
Pallbearers were Erwin Seale, Bill Sorrells, Jeremy Givens, Donnie White, Ronnie Robbins, and Winfard Freeman. Honorary pallbearers were Don White, Sammie Garrett and Lewis Craig.
