Richard F. “Dick” Gams, 77, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011. He was born August 25, 1934 in Oshkosh, WI to the late Frank R. & Clara Mary (Ratchman) Gams. He spent 40 years with the Wisconsin Public Service Corp, loved golf, fishing, and was a Packer Fan. He was a member of Village Bible Church and the Hot Springs Village Breakfast Lions Club. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Corinne Gams; son, Steven Gams of Ironwood, MI; daughters, Kerri Gams of Green Bay, WI and Sandra Reiss of Fargo, ND; brother, Frank Gams (Lorraine) of Fridley, MN; sisters, Judy Grota (Donald) of Oshkosh, WI and Annette Rehbein of Janesville, WI; grandchildren, Danielle Timm, Amber Gams, and Christian Gams; and a great grandchild, Madison Rose Timm. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday at Village Bible Church with Dr. Mark Cain and Rev. Levan Hubbard officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Richard Gams Memorial Assistive Tech Fund to benefit the vision impaired at Lions World Services for the Blind, 2811 Fair Park Blvd., Little Rock, AR 72204.

Linda G. Weatherly Oliver
(July 13, 1947 - September 23, 2011)
Linda G. Weatherly Oliver, 64, of Hot Springs, AR was born on July 13, 1947 in Little Rock, AR and she died Friday, September 23, 2011.

She worked in her husband’s insurance agency as his office manager. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all of her family and friends. Linda was a member of Lakeview Assembly of God Church in Hot Springs for 27 years.

Linda is survived by her husband of 27 years, Ed Oliver; stepsons, Greg (Barbara) Oliver of Hot Springs and Randy (Cathy) Oliver of Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; parents, Lorene and Horace “Tooter” Weatherly of Beebe, AR; two sisters, Debbie (Bill) Wright of Vilonia, AR and Angela Rogers of Austin, AR; and brother, Gary Weatherly of Beebe. She was preceded in death by brothers, Johnny and Jimmy Weatherly of Beebe. She loved her many nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.

Graveside services and burial will be 1:30 PM, Monday, September 26 at Elmwood Cemetery, Blytheville, AR with Rev. Wayne Gore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakeview Assembly of God Church.

Albert E. (Al) King
(September 8, 1933 - September 23, 2011)

Albert E. (Al) King, Jr., age 78, died peacefully after a lengthy illness on September 23, 2011 in Hospice HomeCare, Little Rock. Al was born September 8, 1933 in Jonesboro to the late Beulah Faye and A. E. (Duck) King, Sr. He was also predeceased by an infant sister, Faye Bernice King, and step-mother, Bernice Webb King. He served in the U.S. Army, attended the U of A, was past president of the board of directors of the Garland County Association for Drug Abuse Education, past president of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Sunshine Church of the Nazarene, Pearcy. He joined his father as an estimator and partner in C & B Construction Company and Pharoah Construction Company. He built commercial buildings in Arkansas and Louisiana. His specialty was hospitals, schools and banks. One of his proudest constructions was the First Federal Building at the intersection of Central and Ouachita in downtown Hot Springs. He was devoted to his family. He was always interested in the tiniest of accomplishments of his daughters. That interest carried over ten-fold with the birth of his only grandchild, his much adored granddaughter, Hayley. He will be remembered as an honest man, a faithful husband, a devoted father, a supportive father-in-law, a good son and brother and the world’s best Paw Paw. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Taylor King; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Ann and Michael Henley of Jacksonville, AR and Phyllis Jean (P.J.) and Dennis Hodges of Little Rock, AR; granddaughter, Hayley Henley of Jacksonville, AR; sister, Gloria Jean (Jeannie) King of Hot Springs; step-grandchildren, Marie (Jeremy) Shapley and Brian Henley and step-great-granddaughter, Gillian Shapley. Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Stallings, cousin and senior minister of Forest Home Church of the Nazarene, Jonesboro and Rev. J.B. Evans, senior minister of Sunshine Church of the Nazarene, Pearcy will officiate. A private family burial will precede the service. Pallbearers are Michael Henley, Dennis Hodges, Glenn Reynolds, Dr. I. David Rogers, Don Fulenwider and Jim Randall. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Nizar Suleman, Dr. Scott Anderson, Dr. Fred Divers, Dr. Fred Heinemann, Dr. Dow Stough, Charlie Brenner, Jim Latture and the staff of Arkansas Hospice of Hot Springs. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Nizar Suleman. We are grateful not only for his extraordinary medical care, but for his friendship and compassion to our family. We also extend personal thanks to special friends Jeanne Gardner, Faye Palsgrove and many other caring friends. Sam Moore
(March 11, 1923 - October 18, 2011)

Sam Moore, 88, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011. He was born March 11, 1923 in Iroquois, South Dakota to the late Harry C. and Grace Pixler Moore.

Sam was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired accountant in the oil industry. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Sam served as treasurer at the church and was also a member of the choir for 17 years. He was an avid reader of history and loved the opera.

Sam is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jean Moore of Hot Springs Village and sister, Floy Nash of Texas.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Richard Biega officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Garden at the church.

Betty Sue McEarl
(December 15, 1931 - October 19, 2011)
Betty Sue McEarl, 79, of Jessieville, AR passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 19, 2011. She was born December 15, 1931 in Magnet Cove, AR to Charlie Sherman Groves and Fannie R. Jones Groves.

Betty retired from Southwestern Bell after 35 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. Betty was an avid reader who loved to quilt and sew. She was devoted to her family and her granddaughter, Lillie was the love of her life.

She is predeceased by her parents and brothers, Charles and Jim Groves. Betty is survived by her husband of 43 years, Button McEarl of Jessieville; son, Jeff (Kim) McEarl of Jessieville; brother, Jerry (Barbara) Groves of Hope, AR; and granddaughter, Lillie Victoria McEarl.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday in Caruth Village Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Groves officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Steve McEarl, Bruce Eskew, Dennis Eskew, Brian Groves, Ryan McEarl and Sam McEarl.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Clem James Irwin
(July 15, 1939 - October 20, 2011)
Clem James Irwin, 72, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord October 20, 2011. He was born July 15, 1939 to the late C. J. Irwin and Stella George Irwin. Clem was also preceded in death by one son, Rickey Boley.

Clem was a graduate of Lakeside High School and will be remembered by his love of football (Lakeside Rams undefeated football team 1955 – 1956), golf and hunting. Clem retired from Reynolds Aluminum in 1993.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Irwin of Hot Springs; three sons and three daughters and their spouses: Mike and Carolyn Irwin of Dayton, Ohio, Steve and Rhonda Irwin, Carole Gallegos, Anna Rhoden, and Scott Irwin all of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Cindy and Matt Dina of Maumelle, Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Kyle Rhoden, Austyn Irwin, Miles Irwin, Nicholas Gallegos, Lauren Irwin, Francesca Irwin and Colleen Irwin; two brothers and one sister and their spouses: Wayne and Sara Irwin, Fran and Doyle Lindsey, Jerry and Margaret Irwin all of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Clem had many close friends.

A memorial service in honor of Clem James Irwin will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Pamela "Hurt" Sandage
(March 8, 1964 - October 21, 2011)
Pamela “Hurt” Sandage, 47, of Hot Springs, died Friday, October 21, 2011. She was born March 8, 1964, to the late Lloyd Hurt and Hazel Rhodes Hurt. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Don Hurt.

She is survived by her son, Bobby Estell of Austin, TX; daughter, Amanda Estell of Hot Springs, AR; sisters, Sue Leftridge (Danny) and Cynthia Wilson (David) both of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Aiden and Kiley Geurin; niece, Mary Estell; nephews, Josh Estell, Danny Leftridge, Bobby Leftridge, and Joe Hurt; and her Labrador, Big Girl, a special friend and companion.

A memorial service will be held Monday, October 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

Earl Williamson
(June 25, 1927 - October 25, 2011)
Earl Williamson, 84, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011. He was born June 25, 1927 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Joseph Henry and Ruth (Talley) Williamson. He was a member of Centerfork Missionary Baptist Church. Earl was the original manufacturer of steel floating docks on the Hot Springs area lakes, a business which he started in 1962 and still runs strong today under the direction of his son, Buzzy. He loved to hunt quail and deer with friends and family, enjoyed traveling, but will most be remembered as a very family oriented man who loved his grandchildren dearly. Earl is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dona Jean Williamson and his brother. He is survived by his daughter Jayne Diggs and husband Larry of Hot Springs; sons Buzzy Williamson and wife Sherri of Hot Springs and David Williamson and wife Susan of Little Rock; brother Dean Williamson and wife Mary of Little Rock and Gary Williamson and wife Jackie of Austin, Texas; sister Jo Helen Cook of Hot Springs; six grandchildren and one great grandchild, Preslee. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Thornton and Pastor James Passman officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Jeremy Diggs, Dusty Diggs, Don Spencer, Paul Diggs, Alex Essner and Barry Heath. Honorary pallbearers include Bobby Hecke, Jim McNeil, John Wolfe, J.V. Shaw, Buil Diggs, Roger Swihart, Dr. David Lipschitz, Russ Jagoditsh, members of the Elks Lodge #380, and all of his many friends that he made through his boat dock business.

The family wishes to extend great appreciation to his special caregivers Myrna V. Hopper and Robert Graham.

Sada Banfield
(September 30, 1933 - October 24, 2011)
Sada Banfield, 78, of Hot Springs died October 24, 2011. She was born September 30, 1933 in Hot Springs to J. Omer and Katie (Radford) Meek. She was a graduate of Brian’s Business School and retired as a bookkeeper with Hall Printers. Sada was a member of Park Place Baptist Church. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Robert Allen Banfield and daughter, Donna Banfield.

Survivors include her son, Robert David Banfield, of Vienna, Virginia and brother, Clyde Meek and his wife, Rosemary, of Georgia.

Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10:00 A.M., Friday,OCtober 28, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Coy Sample officiating and Karen Parker singing. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetry.

Pallbearers are Randall Black, Mark Athetis, John Cook, Danny Herring, David Holthus and John Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Helen Winkle and Dee Robinson.

Ann Page Moore
(December 20, 1920 - October 24, 2011)
Ann (Alford) Page Moore, 90, of Hot Springs, died October 24, 2011. She was born November 20, 1920 in Hot Springs to Arlie and Naomi (Reynolds) Alford. After her parents death she and her younger brother, Billy Tom Alford, were raised by their Aunt Mary and Uncle Ben Lakin. In 1942 she married Robert Randolph Page. They owned Page Liquor Store for 25 years. Later Ann worked as a sales clerk in various Hot Springs gift shops. Ann was a member of Morning Star Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, yard work, cooking, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and most of all, playing cards with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert Randolph Page, son, Robert Page II, son, Danny Page and brother, Billy Tom Alford.

In 1999 Ann married Dan Moore who survives along with her daughter, Suzanne (Jacob) Woolfson; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Page; grandsons; Dr. Robert (Ann) Page III and Anthony (Amy) Hubbard, granddaughters, Crystal Hubbard and Denise (Brian) Askelson, 9 great-grandchildren and many step-children and step- grandchildren who treated Ann as their own.

A memorial service in her honor will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Clark officiating. A reception at the funeral home will follow.

Steven Charles Jarrard
(June 21, 1950 - October 24, 2011)
Steven Charles Jarrard, talented sales executive and avid horse racing fan, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, from complications following a stroke and heart attack. He was 61.

Longtime resident of Hot Springs, Jarrard was the consummate salesman -- with devoted student insurance clients in secondary schools and universities across the state. When not on the road meeting with school administrators, Jarrard's favorite pastime was playing the horses, especially at Oak Lawn in Hot Springs and other famous racetracks in the American heartland. His smiling, open personality, abundant generosity and selflessness made him many steadfast friends over the years.

Following the cremation this week, Jarrard's son and brother were to disperse his ashes atop a mountain in northern Arkansas, near where Jarrard had a backwoods home for a number of years. His family and many friends in Arkansas and Texas will remember his long battle with arthritis and other health issues, a fight he waged to the end with dignity.

Jarrard was born on June 21, 1950, in Denton, Texas, to Bill Jarrard and Joan Baucum. He attended the University of Texas at Austin as a business student, and in the 1980s worked in a highly successful fashion-merchandising business, Jarrard & Associates, created by his father. He moved into the student insurance business in the mid-1980s, living first in Little Rock before moving to Hot Springs, and built a client base that rivaled all others in the state of Arkansas.

Jarrard is survived by his father, of South Padre Island, Texas, and his mother, of Boxford, Massachusetts; his son Jason, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his brother Kyle, of Paris, France; his sister Jan Hamrick, of Richardson, Texas; and his half-sister Kim Kolar, of Southlake, Texas.

Kenneth Stronczek
(May 9, 1932 - October 19, 2011)
Kenneth Stronczek, 79, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011. He was born May 9, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Stanley and Helen Bayer Stronczek. Kenneth attended Unity Church in Hot Springs.

He is survived by his children – Gary Stronczek, Richard Stronczek, and Kimberly Stronczek all of Hot Springs, and wife, Dorothy Bober Stronczek of Wheeling, Illinois. Pallbearers include Gary Stronczek, Bryan St. John, Robert Kuhn, Scott Meeks, Roy Rivers and Alex Molmar.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 Friday, October 21, 2011, Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Hollywood Cemetery.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Unity Church, 300 Oaklawn Blvd, Hot Springs, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Jackson House, Ouachita Children’s Home, or Special Olympics.

Junior Lee Ennis
(March 7, 1926 - October 28, 2011)

Junior Lee Ennis, 85, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Friday, October 28, 2011. He was born March 7, 1926 in Royal, Arkansas to the late Squire & Betty Leona (Wallace) Ennis. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II, where he was awarded the Bronze Service Star. Junior was a retired barber and a member of Airport Road Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Willard Ennis, Tilford Ennis, and Ruth Bradley. Survivors include his wife of 66 years Emmalene (Beard) Ennis of Hot Springs; sons Jeff Ennis and his wife Carol of Franklin, TN; and Richard Ennis and his wife Barbara of DeQueen, AR; brother Earnest Ennis of Hot Springs; sister Ruby Land of Royal; grandchildren Natalie Church, Emily Ennis, Audra Griffith, and Afton Ennis; great-grandchildren Tori Church and Brady Church. Pallbearers are Gary Acord, Greg Acord, Ray Ennis, Sonny Ennis, Don Bradley, Phillip Otwell, and Mike Hutzel. Honorary Pallbearers are Bryan Church and Cole Griffith. Visitation will be Sunday 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Graveside services are 10:00 am Monday at Lowe Cemetery with Bro. Jack Smith officiating.

Alica Gladys Banks
(April 23, 1926 - October 29, 2011)
Alica Gladys Banks, 85, of Hot Springs, passed away October 29, 2011. She was born April 23, 1926, the tenth of ten children to Merrill Dowd Brooks and Anna Josephine (Wirsching) Brooks in Westfield, Massachusetts. She is survived by her only daughter, Lynn Amelia (Banks) Sargent and husband Alan; three grandchildren, Jeremy Alan Sargent, Jonathan Gregory Sargent, and Anna Lynn Sargent; and six great-grandchildren: Logan Daniel and Kate Miranda, children of Jeremy and his wife Celeste; and Caleb Michael, Jocelyn Rose, Joshua Israel and Adelyn Grace, children of Jonathan and his wife Michelle.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. November 1, 2011 at Christian Ministries Church with Rev. Tim Brooks officiating.
