Leslie Ray Parker
Leslie Ray Parker, 63, of Calico Rock, Ark., formerly of Piggott, died Saturday, April 28, 2007 in Calico Rock.
He was born August 13, 1943 in East St. Louis, Ill. and was the son of the late Henry Lester and Berniece Holloway Parker.
He was united in marriage to Viola Blue on June 1, 1963 and to this union three children was born.
One brother, Wayne Parker preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Parker of Calico Rock; three children, Angela Stowe of Cody, Wyo., Wesley Parker and Jason Parker both of Calico Rock; four grandchildren, April Marie Stowe d'Augereau, Jerry Bruce Stowe, Kyle Parker, and Haley Parker; one great grand son, John Calab d'Augereau; three brothers, Adrian Parker of Paragould, Steven Parker of Memphis, Gary A Parker of Piggott; one sister, Fay Parker Parrish of Piggott and other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 2, with funeral services following in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Dr. Adrian Parker officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery
in St. Francis.

John R. Fewin
John R. Fewin, 79, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.
Fewin was born Dec. 24, 1927 in Butler County. He had retired as a heavy equipment operator for Midwest Operating Engineers. After retirement, Fewin bought, remodeled, and built homes for resale in Poplar Bluff. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Europe during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Adeline (Davis) Fewin, and sister, Ruth Fewin Mayberry.
He is survived by his sister, Anna Fewin of Piggott; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at the Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial with full 
military honors was at the City Cemetery
in Poplar Bluff.
William Otis Watson
William Otis Watson, 87, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Popular Bluff Regional Hospital.
He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Crockett to the late Bert and Clara Watson.
Mr. watson served in the Navy during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1945. He married Jewell Francis Brandon in November 1945. They had two children, Vicky Watson Luce of Adrian, Mich., and William (Bill) Watson of Rector. Mr. Watson then married Isabel Rodruquez on June 25, 1962, in Benghazi, Libya.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle "Ken" Watson; one sister, Eva Watson, and one great-grandchild.
Survivors inclue his wife of 44 years, Isabel Watson of Piggott; one daughter, Vicky Luce of Adrian, Mich.; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Donna Watson of Rector; eight grandchildren, Rhonda Robinson, Debbie Stoddard, Ronnie Gilbert, Norman Gilbert, William Gilbert and Jason Watson, all of Adrian, Mich., Kassandra Watson Adams of Paragould and Brian Watson of Rector; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; four brothers, John Watson and Bert Watson of Piggott, Norman Leon "Pete" Watson of Corning and James "Fat" Watson of Memphis; four sisters, Myrtle and Shirley Satterfield, Shelba Lewis of St. Louis and Neva Hopper of Piggott, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 1, at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott with Matthew Watson, Thavis Lewis and Charles Cooper officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery
with Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Brian Watson, Dan Watson, Kevin Lewis, Mike Satterfield, Keith Satterfield and Tim Watson.
Honorary pallbearers were Bert Watson, Charles Watson, Clay Watson, Greg Watson and Jim Watson.
Eva Florence Bricker
Eva Florence Bricker, 89, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
She was born Nov. 19, 1917, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Efrus and Mary Elizabeth "Jackson" Jordan. She was married to Harley Burdette Bricker on Nov. 6, 1938 in Piggott. She was a retired nurse, employed by St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, Mo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lutie Jane Jordan Wood and Loris Firn Jordan Throgmorton; two brothers, William James Jordan and Fines Rayman Jordan; one sister-in-law, Foye A. Bricker Speer, and step-mother Clara Parrish Spicer Jordan.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyclyn Bricker Olds, and husband, Thomas F.; three grandchildren, Timothy R. Olds and wife, Sandra K., Tami J. Olds Carroll, Yvonne R. Olds Nolte and husband, Robert A.; seven grandchildren, Heather R. Olds, Harlee R. Olds, Courtney A. Carroll, Moriah J. Carroll, Justin T. Nolte, Jess A. Nolte, and Jake R. Nolte; sister-in-laws, Camilla Bricker Cox of Piggott, Jane Bricker Groves of Valparaiso, Ind., Coleen Bricker Arthur of Rolla, Mo., and Getonia Bricker Clark of Florissant, Mo. Other local family members survivors are Etta Lee Dowdy Jordan, Joel Dean Jordan and wife Yong Hui Min, Betty Lois Ward Burdin and husband Rollen, Florence Eason, Alicetene Jordan and husband Donald, Eafrus Jordan and wife Ann, Gail Jordan Waggoner and husband John, Sharon Jordan Eason and husband Rogers, along with a half sister, Flora Spicer Holland of Corning. Don and Irma Throgmorton of Montgomery, Mo., Margie Throgmorton Bennett and husband John of Bluff Dale, Tex., and Faye Throgmorton Kerper and husband Julius.
Services were held Saturday, May 5, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott with Bro. Steven Bricker officiating of the First Baptist Church of Campbell.
Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Timothy Olds, Jess Nolte, Sam Boyd, Nathan Little, Rogers Eason, and Doug Speer.

Jack Melton
Jack Melton, 91, of Melbourne, Ark., died Friday, May 4, 2007 in Murphy Health Center in Piggott.
He was born Jan. 15, 1916 in Melbourne, the son of the late Tilford and Ida Haney Melton.
He was preceded in death by; one son Harold Melton; one daughter, Ruthie Floyd; two brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by; four grandchildren, Terry Goff of Grand Bay, Ala.; Michael Melton of Pulaski, Tenn.; Randy Floyd of Barling, Ark.; Kathy Floyd of Mulberry, Ark.; eight great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jimmie Melton of Grand Bay; son-in-law, James Floyd of Mulberry; a very special friend, Bonnie Wideman of St. Louis; nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday and graveside services were held Monday, May 7, in New Hope Cemetery
in Pollard, with J. T. Ashby officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
Ortha Lucille Stewart
Ortha Lucille Stewart, 93, of Piggott, died Monday, April 30, 2007 in the Piggott Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 6, 1913 in Bunga, Ill., and was the daughter of the late Albert and Hallie McGehee Stallings.
She was united in marriage to Howard Stewart on Nov. 23, 1929. To this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Stewart; one daughter, Norma Jean Stewart; one son, Marlin Stewart; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Gene Stallings and Clyde Stallings; two sisters, Freida Underwood and Louise Holcomb.
She is survived by two sons; Wayne Stewart of Olla, La., and Craig Stewart of Piggott; ten grandchildren; Cheryl, Kim, Pam, Grant, Matthew, Angie, Tony, Steve, Rick and Scott; twenty great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; three sisters; Ruby Martz and Marguerite Swift both of Piggott, and Monedith Simpson of Chula Vista, Calif. and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, with funeral services following on Wednesday, May 2, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Joe Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony Pace, Steve Pace, Larry Holcomb, Jim Swift, Rick Stewart and Scott Stewart. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
Edna B. Terry
Edna B. Terry, 88, of Kennett, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at the National Health Care in Kennett.
She was born Dec. 17, 1918 in Rector, the daughter of the late Mansfield Price and Martha Bell Brinson Massey.
She was united in marriage to Arthur E. Terry on Jan. 14, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1977.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Francis Smart; one grandchild and ten brothers and sisters.
She is survived by four daughters; Martha Haley of Cahokia, Ill., Margaret Gilbert of Nimmons, Mildred Terry of Crystal City, Mo., Mardella Blue of White Oak, Mo., two sons; Arthur P. Terry of Springdale, James E. Terry of St. Louis; seventeen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, and graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Mitchell Cemetery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
Gillis Neeley
Gillis Neeley, 72, of St. Francis, died Saturday, May 19, 2007 in the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.
He was born October 22, 1934 in Malden, Mo., the son of the late Herman Curtis and Dessie Mae Hoots Neeley.
He was married to Peggy Lou Province on Jan. 19, 1957 and to this union two children were born.
He worked for Morris Farm Center in St. Francis for approximately forty years and retired in 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Neeley of St. Francis; one daughter, Sharon Mann and husband Tony of Piggott; one son Tony Neeley of St. Francis; four grandchildren; Shawn Mann, Andy Neeley, Heather Neeley and Hunter Neeley; two sisters, Melba Pinkston and husband Clyde and Patsy Gatlin and husband Cledis all of St. Louis County, Mo.; one brother, Jimmy Neeley and wife Peggy of Dallas, Tex., and other relatives and friends.
Viewing was Sunday, May 20, with funeral services held Monday, May 21, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Willyene Jordan officiating. Burial is in Gravel Hill Cemetery

R.W. Williams
R.W. Williams, 86, of Piggott, formerly of Rector, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at Piggott Community Hospital.
Mr. Williams was an Army veteran who just recently received his Purple Heart. He was a General Baptist minister and a retired welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Luella (Hoil) Williams; four brothers, Roy, Ben, Granville and Henry Williams; four sisters, Reba Smith, Dora Watson, Ruth Stevens and Wilma Shelton, and one grandson, Craig.
He is survived by a son, Del W. (Bonnie) Williams of Arnold, Mo.; one daughter, Gilbretta (Gil) and husband Carol Darter of Paragould; three grandchildren, Randy, Kelli and Terri, six great-grandchildren and one brother, Wheeler Williams.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. May 17 at Woodland Heights Cemetery
in Rector with Bro. David Floyd officiating. Irby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Agnes Annabelle Williams
Agnes Annabelle Williams, 81, of Rector, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
Born Nov. 30, 1925, in Wynne to the late Gordan Evans and Lessie Dell Hudson, she was a homemaker and of the Pentecost faith.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Williams, in 1982; two brothers, Calvin and Simmie Evans, and three sisters, Mildred Harris, Katherine Murray and Molly McElroy.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Ronald Harris of Paragould and Glenn and Mindy Harris of Beaumont, Texas; three brothers, Don Evans of Tallahassee, Fla., James Evans of Peoria, Ill., and Kenneth Evans of Nebraska; five sisters, Nora Ann Pelber of Ash Flat, Jewell Swink of Illinois, Emma Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., Fannie Lewis of California and Joan Wagster of Piggott; six grandchildren, Michael Harris, Tonya Hansen, Jennifer Harris, Tony Harris, Felicia Harris and Dylan Harris, and three great-grandchildren, Aaron Burcham, Alex Richardson and Holly Richardson.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Burial was in Ramer's Chapel Cemetery
near Marmaduke.
Pallbearers were Aaron Burcham, Tony Harris, Bob Wagster, Jimmy Swink, Rick Alexander and Robert Swink.
Kenneth Lee Thompson
Kenneth Lee Thompson, 71, formerly of Malden, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at his residence in Piggott.
He was born March 11, 1936, the son of the late John A. Thompson and the late Bertha Howard Thompson. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Mary Evelyn (Sandusky) Thompson, who died in 1999; one son, Thomas Thompson; and four brothers, John Henry, David, George Alford, and Jessie Alford Thompson.
He is survived by three sons, Kenneth Lee Thompson of Idalia, Mo., Willis Adam Thompson of Dexter, Bobby Dale Thompson of Freeman Spur, Ill.; one daughter, Mary Jane Smith of Poplar Bluff; five brothers, Leonard Thompson of Albany, Oreg., Gerald Thompson of Holcomb, Lloyd Thompson of Jefferson City, Mo., Marvin Thompson of Malden, Ronnie Thompson of Malden; four sisters, Veda Ethington of Caseyville, Ill., Freda Henson of Parsons, Tenn., Virginia Lipsey of Qulin, Maxine Headd of Marion, Ill.; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 29, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with Rev. Paul White officiating.
Burial is in Rosewood Cemetery
in Malden.
Terry Dewayne Karnes
Terry Dewayne Karnes, 55, of Corning died Friday, July 27, 2007, at Piggott Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1951 in Piggott, the son of Denzil Roy and Ethel (Nixon) Karnes-Guthry, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Penny (Cullins); three sons: Tommy Ray Karnes and Amanda and Scott Allen Karnes all of St Louis, and Terry Dewayne "T.J." Karnes Jr. of Corning; one daughter, Sandy Wareing and Scott of Paragould; one sister, Marcia Tyler and Kenny of Pollard; two brothers, Alvin "Bud" Karnes and Tammy of Festus, Mo., and Denny Lynn "Skeeter" Karnes of Fenton, Mo.; along with six grandchildren: Danielle Karnes, Ashley Karnes, and Isabella "Issy" Karnes all of St. Louis, Sky Guy of Corning, and Marc Wareing and Bethany Wareing of Paragould.
Karnes was a farmer, a veteran and was of the Pentecostal faith. A private memorial service was to be held at a later date, with Ermert Funeral Home of Corning in charge of the arrangements.
