John Ray Howard
John Ray Howard, 77, died Jan. 16, 2007, in Piggott. He was the son of the late George Washington Howard and Blanche Edna McCarroll Howard. He was born July 10, 1929 in Stella, Ark.
He was united in marriage to Betty Sue Finley on April 19, 1951, in Batesville. To this union six children were born.
He was employed by Cessna and Boeing Aircraft Industries. After moving to New Mexico, he was employed as a pipeline contractor. He enjoyed playing music, and played at clubs in the Albuquerque area. He was of the Baptist faith.
Howard is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Betty Howard of Piggott; three sons, Frank Howard of Grand Junction, Colo., James Howard of Los Lunas, N.Mex., and Phil Howard of Albuquerque, N.Mex.; three daughters, Jacquie Black of Elk City, Okla., Suzi Howard of Decauter, Ga., and Teri Michelle Howard of Cartersville, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Scott Guidry, Lou Donna Malone, Austin Smyth, Erin Gibbins, Janet Howard, Sarah Howard, Jennifer Ramie, and P.J. Howard; five great-grandchildren, Jamie, Riley, and Zack Smyth and Lauren and Adam Gibbins; local nieces and nephews, Joe Davidson, Pat Davidson, Paula Cone, Janet Teague, Eddie Howard, Ann Hopper, and Pam Turner, all of Melbourne; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Boyce Howard and Roman Howard, a half-brother, Hubert Howard, and three sisters, Lois Davidson, Anna Moore and Louise Bisson.
Memorial services were held Jan. 20, at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Ricky Burke and Howard Black officiating.
Arrangements were by Eddie's Family Funeral Home.
Donald Milde
Donald Milde, 67, of Hardy, Ark. passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007 in the White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark.
He was born Dec. 13, 1939, the son of the late Carl J. and Flora E. Jones Milde.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Milde of Hardy; one daughter, Debbie Milde of Brookland, Arkansas; two sons, Donnie Milde and wife Donna and Doug Milde and wife Kim both of Brookland; three granddaughters, Dana Latty and husband Alex, Jamie Brown, and Deanna Bass and husband Paul; three grandsons; Daniel Milde, Shawn Milde, and Brent Milde; one great granddaughter, Madison Bass; six sisters, Carlene Iberg and husband Will of Piggott, Gwenda Hatcher of Woodstock, Ill., Barbara Marks and husband Loren of West Frankfort, Ill., Mary Loveless and husband James of Sycamore, Ill., Brenda Presson and Richard Tippitt of Piggott, and Linda Gearhart and husband Jim of Piggott; two brothers, David Milde and wife Ruthy of Marietta, Georgia and Dale Milde and wife Alma of Piggott; and many other relatives and friends.

Myron Rogers
Myron Rogers, 86, died Jan. 29, 2007. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 1, at the First Christian Church in Piggott.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home.

Charlton Francis Brady
Charlton Francis Brady, 95, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 after a brief illness. He was born to Curtis Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Brady, along with identical twin brother John Frederick, on September 26, 1911 in Piggott.
He was united in marriage to Mary Ardath Hogard on Dec. 16, 1936 in Piggott. They moved to Detroit, Mich., in 1937 where one son was born, Neil Francis Brady. His career in the defense industry and tool and die field spanned more than forty years. After 30 years of service at Brooks & Perkins, Inc., he retired and returned to Piggott in 1978.
He was committed to active service in God's Church. He served as a deacon and taught for many years at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott and for many years previously at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Ferndale, Mich.
He lived life to the fullest each day. He never met a stranger. He loved gardening, yard work and sports of every kind including golf as a long term member of Sugar Creek Country Club.
He was preceded in death by Mary Ardath Brady his loving wife of 65 years; his brothers William Roy, John Frederick, James Franklin, and Russell Elbert; and a sister Sarah Agnes. He is survived by son Neil Francis and wife Geri Christine of Dallas, Texas; two sisters Bessie Leona Ridgeway of Tampa Fl., and Verna Ottie Smith of Poplar Bluff; and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends whose lives were touched by his warmth, friendliness, integrity and good character. His passion for life will be missed by all.
Visitation was held Tuesday with funeral Services held Wednesday, May 30, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with W.K. Roach and Danny Self officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery
in Pollard. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
Delmar Grissom
Delmar Grissom, 86, of Hardin, Ky, formerly of Piggott, died May 15, 2007, at his home. He was a retired police officer from Wayne County, Mich., a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mary Alice (Verbie) Grissom; a brother J.T. Grissom; and a sister Flora Whaley.
He is survived by his wife Ruby Maxine (Miller) Grissom; sons: Sam Grissom of Howell, Mich., Richard Grissom of Willis, Mich., Charlie Grissom of Hardin, Ky., and Paul Grissom of Muskegon, Mich.; brothers: Ronald Grissom of Wash., Nolan Grissom of Las Vegas, Tommy Grissom of Medford, Ore., Eugene Grissom of Piggott, Kenneth Grissom of Calif., Billy Grissom of Rector and Denver Grissom of Ontario Calif.; sisters: Bertha Houston of Pittsburg, Mo., Lowanda Comer of Collinsville, Ill., and Barbara Sue Drury of St. Louis. He was also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Noah Edward "Paul" Hargrove
Noah Edward "Paul" Hargrove, 81, of South Beloit Ill., formerly of Piggott, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in Illinois.
He was born November 17, 1926 in Hornersville, the son of the late Thomas and Georgia Russell Hargrove, and preceded in death by his parents and by brothers Thomas Loren and James Ernest Hargrove.
He was married to Dorothy Mae (Austill) Hargrove May 11, 1946 in Piggott, following service in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed for many years by Lorine Manufacturing, and lived in Piggott 20 years before returning to the Rockford Ill. area two years ago.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, son Ronald Edward Hargrove and wife Sandy, daughter Debra Diane Hathaway; two brothers: Albert Hargrove and wife Joyce and Marvin Rayburn Hargrove and wife J.C. (Lylis); four sisters: Gladys Brand, Dorothy Sue Goodman, Doris (Mrs. Don) Akers and Mary Jane Kurley; three grandchildren: Ronald Paul Hargrove, Joseph Roy Hargrove and Kelley Diane Hathaway; and two great-grandchildren: Michaela Renee and Zachary Joseph Hargrove.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 1, 2007 at the McDaniel Funeral Chapel in Kennett, with Rev. Wayne Bowman officiating. Burial was at the Oak Ridge Cemetery
in Kennett.
Irene Janes
Irene Janes, 86, died May 24, 2007, at Columbia Manor Care Center in Columbia, Mo.
Irene was born September 3, 1920, in Lafe, Ark., to James M. and Cleora Hill Arnold. She married Ernest Janes on April 27, 1941. For a good part of their married life, they lived and farmed near Pollard.
At the time of her death, she was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott. Some of the families' fondest memories are when Irene sang for several years in a quartet at Walnut Hill General Baptist Church. Until her death, she could still remember and sing most verses of the old hymns.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; four children: Phyllis Irene, Phillip Ernest, Eric Darwin, and Melba Jean Cummins; one grandson, Jonson Lee Janes; one brother, Elihu Arnold; and a sister, Lura Mabrey.
Irene is survived by three daughters: Karen and husband Charley Blackmore of Columbia, Mo., Willie Jo and husband Jim Metz of Madison, Miss., and Marie Wong of Campbell, Calif.; and two daughters-in-law: Michelle Janes of Belleville, Ill., and Linda Thompson of Paducah, Ky. Also surviving is her brother, Lavern Arnold; three sisters: Lorrell Patterson, Areva Elliott, and Ludeen Baker; fourteen grandchildren; Marla Wong, Richard Wong, Jeffrey Wong, Tamara Wong, Michael Cummins, Patrick Cummins, Scarlett Daugherty, Jason Janes, Robert Stalker, Candy Williams, Sam Williams, Jr., Travis Williams, Melissa Janes, and Sarah Griffin; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 28, following visitation in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Rev. Gary Hancock officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery
in Pollard. Pallbearers will be Sam Williams Jr., Travis Williams, Jason Janes, Robert Stalker, McCaine Daugherty and Dalton Daugherty. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott will be in charge of the arrangements.

Nada Maxine Emberton
Nada "Maxine" Emberton, 81, of Piggott, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at the North East Arkansas Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She worked as a switchboard operator for many years and was of the First Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Edith Sale Douglas; one sister, Jeanette Douglas; and half brother Jackie Douglas.
Survivors include her husband Fred "Doc" Emberton of the home; daughter, Vicki VanKooten of Ottawa, Kans.; son, Ronald Emberton of Savannha, Mo.; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 13, at the Piggott Cemetery
with Brother Alan Vaughn officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons: Donnie Bellinger, Kevin Bellinger, Kelvin Bellinger, Freddie Emberton and Mike Emberton.
Arrangements were by Irby Funeral Home of Piggott.
Mamie Seen Glover
Mamie Seen Glover, 92, of the Murphy Health and Rehabilitation in Piggott, died Friday, June 8, 2007, at the Piggott Community Hospital.
She was born Sept. 30, 1914, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Oscar Olen and Nola Green "Davis" Gordon. She was married to Ural Lester Glover. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Wright's Chapel Methodist church in Piggott.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: Marshall Gordon, Delbert Gordon and Eldridge Gordon; and two sisters: Myrl Gordon and Lee Gordon Newman.
She is survived by four sons: Carl Glover of Marmaduke, Charles Glover of Independence, Mo., Gaylon Glover and wife Brenda of Holcomb and Van Glover and wife Linda of Piggott; one daughter, Genada Glover of Houston; one brother, Pharis Gordon of Dallas; six grandchildren: Anthony Glover, Gene Glover, Todd Glover, Tracy Glover, Tina Bennett and Ronnie Dragg; six great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.
Visitation was Saturday, June 9, and services were held Sunday, June 10, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott with Reverend Willyne Jordan officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons: Anthony Glover, Gene Glover, Todd Glover and Tracy Glover.
Arrangements were by Irby Funeral Home of Piggott.
Eulalia Haywood
Eulalia Haywood, 84, of Greenway, died Friday, June 8, 2007 in Murphy Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Piggott.
She was born on April 2, 1923, in Rector, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Ida Bain Sinko.
She was married to Glen Dale Haywood on Oct. 12, 1941 and they had two children. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2000.
In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Haywood; four brothers: Donald, Elbert, Ezra, and Bob Glasgow; and three sisters: Virginia Haywood, Juanita Cunningham, and Geneva Walker.
She is survived by one daughter, Danna Haywood of Piggott; one daughter-in-law, Debby Haywood of Piggott; four grandchildren: Heath Haywood, Susan Rodery and husband John, Kim Green, and Andy Haywood and wife Ashley; three great-grandchildren: Michael Haywood, Connor Rodery and Caroline Rodery; two brothers: Bill Glasgow and Jim Glasgow; two sisters: Louise Smith and Ann Simmons; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, June 10, with funeral services following in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, with Tim McCluskey officiating. Burial is in Mitchell Cemetery
in Greenway. Pallbearers were Heath Haywood, Andy Haywood, John Rodery, Connor Rodery, Matt McCluskey, and Tim McCluskey. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
Linda Hendon
Linda Hendon, 59, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Piggott, Arkansas, died Friday, June 8, 2007 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Linda was born Dec. 12, 1947 in Kennett, the daughter of James W. and Wanda V. Henson Hendon.
She was preceded in death by her father James and one brother, Tony.
She is survived by one son Brad Hendon of Piggott; one daughter, Kim Hensley of Bartlett, Tenn.; mother, Wanda Hendon of Piggott; five grand-children, Hannah, Bailey, Megan, Shaley and Alec; one brother Steve Hendon of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Lisa Jackson of Corning, and other relatives and friends.
A family memorial service will be held on a later date. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
Kathryn Wilcox
Kathryn Wilcox, 81, died Sunday, June 3, 2007, after a battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Mary Kathryn Wilcox was born Aug. 5, 1925, to Ed and Bessie Curtis Wright in Rector. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouses and her sister.
Wilcox lived and worked in Paragould the majority of her life. She was active in Paragould B & PW and a member of First Baptist Church. An avid bowler, her teams won several league championships. She enjoyed fishing, travel and being with her grandchildren.
Wilcox is survived by three daughters; Barbara Arnold and husband Alvin, Sharon L. Walton of Paragould, and Kathy Winberry and husband Larry of Piggott; five grandsons, Todd Dearing, Nicki Arnold of Paragould, Cliff Winberry of Piggott, Clay Winberry of Oxford, Miss., Craig Winberry of Bentonville, Ark.; and one granddaughter, Shayla Blackford of Paragould. She is also survived by seven great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter and a host of friends and relatives.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, June 5, at Paragould Memorial Gardens under the direction of Heath Funeral Home.
The family request that in lieu of flowers remembrances be made to The Parkinson's Foundation, First Baptist Church, Mission Outreach or Meals on Wheels.
Johnny "Bill" Mulherin
Johnny "Bill" Mulherin, 79, of Flint Mich., died Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich, Mich. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 29, at the Swartz Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald St. Cin officiating. Burial was in the Great Lakes National Cemetery
in Holly. Masonic services were conducted Monday, May 28 at the funeral home chapel.
Bill Mulherin was born in Carryville, Ark., on July 31, 1927, the son of the late Henry and Ida Mulherin. He'd lived in Flint since 1953. Bill married Mary Harmon on Sep. 27, 1947 in Piggott. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. 1123rd military Police Company from 1945 to 1947. He attended Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, and was a member, and Past Master, of the Swartz Creek Lodge No. 458, F&AM. Bill was a self-employed master mechanic for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Mary and nine children; Patricia Lemek, Dorothy (Duane) Thon, Sandra (Dave) Greanya, Johnny Jr. (Kathy), James (Sue), Michael (Marie), David, Richard (Jennifer), and Tim (Sherri). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a sister Faye (Henry) Book of Piggott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Earline Straugh.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Swartz Creek Lodge No. 458 F&AM Scholarship fund.
