Bonnie Fay Crawford
Bonnie Fay Crawford, 58, of Piggott died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at her home in Piggott.
She was born March 12, 1947, in Bakersfield, Calif., the daughter of the late Therrell Jefferson "Dick" and Buelah Beatrice Null Sherrell.
She was united in marriage to Howard Wayne Crawford on Aug. 12, 1971. They had three children.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and was a servant of God all her life.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Campbell; and one brother, Junior Sherrell.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Crawford; three children, April Smith and husband, Kenneth, Chris Crawford and wife, Patricia, and Jennifer Crawford, all of Piggott; eight grandchildren, Garrett Smith, Kenney Smith, Megan Smith, Amber Crawford, Autumn Crawford, Brittney McCoy, Austin Crawford and Zachary Crawford; four sisters, Ann Ellis of Greenville, Mo., Wanda Porter of Paragould, Pat Martin of Van Buren, Mo., and Tresa Evans of Kennett; one brother, Ronnie Sherrell of Malden; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating. Burial followed in Mitchell Cemetery
at Greenway. Pallbearers were Kenney T. Smith, Garrett Smith, Kenney R. Smith, Jeff Campbell, Marc Sherrell and Jeremy Dillard.

Allen Boyd
Allen Boyd, 40, of Amity died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1965, in Piggott, the son of Wendell Boyd and Erma Davis Boyd.
He was united in marriage to Deanna Angel on March 18, 1984.
Mr. Boyd was a sheet rocker.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brady Allen Boyd on June 22, 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna Boyd of Amity; his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Kainan Staggs of Amity; his son, Blevin Boyd of Amity; his father and stepmother, Wendell and Sheila Boyd of Heflin, La.; his mother, Erma Campbell of Piggott; his granddaughter, Kanbry Staggs of Amity; three brothers, Wesley Boyd of Piggott and Corry Boyd and Cody Boyd of Heflin, La.; one sister, Lacy Boyd of Heflin, La.; and two grandmothers, Freeda Boyd of Boydsville and Virginia Carman of Piggott.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, in the Jones Cemetery
with Bro. Craig Cowart officiating. Active pallbearers were Kenneth Williams, Allen Hall, Alton Engle, Corry Boyd, Cody Boyd and Wesley Boyd. Honorary pallbearers were be Joe Kitchens, Wanda Owens, Greg Henthorn, Brian Davis, Jake Burns, Randy Bell, Scott Taylor and Bobby Ransom.

Lila Ann Blair
Lila Ann Blair, 74, of Piggott died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in Las Vegas.
She was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Rector, the daughter of the late Marion and Lou Anna Jewell Copeland.
She was united in marriage to Curtis James Blair on Aug. 4, 1951. They had three sons.
She was a member of the New Piggott Chapter Number 623, Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis James Blair of Piggott; three sons, Curtis James Blair II and wife, Sheri, of Las Vegas; Tim Blair and wife, Sue, of Piggott and Tom Blair of Troy, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jon Blair and Nikki Blair, both of Ohio, and Heather Mauldin and Kenneth Blair, both of Piggott; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Mauldin; two brothers, Kenneth J. Copeland of Eureka, Mo., and Terry Copeland of Boyce, La.; one sister, Betty Humphrey of Richmond Heights, Mo.; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Shawn Parker officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Mack, Randy Lemmons, Fred Ort, Bud Holcomb, Dr. Larry Winberry and Ted Bellers.

Ora Mae Easterwood Davis
Ora Mae Easterwood Davis, 92, of Piggott died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, in Piggott.
She was born Sept. 14, 1913, near Pollard, the daughter of the late William Kirby and Eva Laura Peck Easterwood.
She was united in marriage to Myrl Davis on July 25, 1931.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myrl Davis; three brothers, Marvin, Bradley and Doyle Easterwood; four sisters, Marie Alexander, Mildred Davis, Mamie Jones and Wanda Smith.
She is survived by two sisters, Florene Blankenship and husband, Jim, of Pollard and Wilma Carruth and husband, Walter, of Jonesboro; brother-in-law, Mack Smith of Pangburn; sisters-in-law, Helen Easterwood of Corning and Nina Easterwood of Sun City, Ariz.; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Rev. James Davis and Rev. Gerald Davis officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery
in Pollard. Pallbearers were Dennis Davis, Randy Mikel, Troy Banning, Bradley Dunlap, Luke Palmer and Fred Scheffler.

Veda Imogene Shelby
Veda Imogene Shelby, 84, of the Campbell Nursing Home, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at Piggott Community Hospital.
Born June 16, 1921, in Clay County to the late Thaddeus and Rosa Dean Beckley, she was a homemaker, a lifelong member of the community and a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.
Also preceding her in death were one daughter and son-in-law, Martha Shelby Vangilder Rogers and Charles Vangilder; three brothers, Reuben Earl, Orlie Lee "Bob" and Delmar "Peck" Beckley, and two sisters, Vera Mae Beckley and Thelma Woodward.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Charlie Shelby; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Scott Sims of Piggott; two grandchildren, Alan Vangilder and wife Brenda of Addison, Texas, and Lori Sims of Piggott; one brother, J.D. Beckley; two sisters, Amy Pike and Delcie Brochu; two great-grandsons, Jason and Daniel Vangilder, and one son-in-law, Jim Rogers.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery
at Greenway with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

John Kenneth Watson
John Kenneth Watson, 74, died on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at The Hospice House in Naples, Fla.
He was born Oct. 26, 1930, at Greenway, the son of the late Jesse F. and Georgia Evelyn (Stanfield) Watson.
Mr. Watson owned a roofing business for years, he enjoyed doing wood work and was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janette Agnes (Williams) Watson; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his three children, John Matthew Watson, Tilden Watson and Cynthia Murray; one granddaughter, Trina Eakins; one sister, Helen Sanders; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at the Mitchell Cemetery
in Greenway with Larry Martineau officiating. Burial followed immediately.

Douglas Dewayne Benson
Douglas Dewayne Benson was born on Feb. 5, 1963, in Kennett, the son of Donald and Barbara Sue Dover Benson. He died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at the family home near Piggott at the age of 42.
He accepted Christ as his savior when he was a teenager.
Mr. Benson was an employee of the Clay County Road Department for many years and had a close relationship with his working buddies. Six weeks ago he was diagnosed with cancer.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Sue; and his grandparents, the late Crawford and Minnie Green Benson and the late Herbert and Lula Hayes Dover.
He is survived by his parents, Donald and Sue Benson of Piggott; two sons, Douglas Delane and Billy Joe Benson of Oklahoma; two daughters, Ashley Nichole and Victoria Lynn of the home; one sister, Denise Lovins and husband, Eddie, of Greenway; one nephew, Chad Lovins and wife, Jackie Byrd Lovins, of Greenway; five aunts, one uncle; and many cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Bro. Gary Laughlin and Bro. Shawn Parker officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Leroy Chavez, Elvis Chavez, Jim Bob Diddle, Dennis Templeton, Randy Hinkle, Brian Beck, Kevin Hardin and Grant Elser. Honorary pallbearers were Derren Poe, Jack Vaughn, Marshall Potts, Raymond "Whitey" Morrison, Billy Burr and Carlos Crittenden.

Joanne Thompson Cox
Joanne Thompson Cox, 72, of Scottsdale, Ariz., died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, in Scottsdale.
She was born on Jan. 20, 1933, in Forrest City, the daughter of the late Elliott "Bill" and Willie Mae Griffin Thompson.
She was united in marriage to Jimmy Mack Cox on Aug. 12, 1951. They enjoyed 42 years together. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1994.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Searcy.
She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Ann Smith and Sarah Lynn Carpenter; two sons, Richard Mack Cox and James Steven Cox; five grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at the Hoggard and Sons Chapel.

Zelma Pearl Dees
Zelma Pearl Dees, 91, of Piggott died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
She was born Sept. 7, 1914, in Bee Branch, the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Dora Jane Baker Cullum.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd Dees on Jan. 17, 1932. They had eight children.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on Nov. 12, 1983.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; four daughters, Dora Bell Dees, Wanda Lee Dees, Connie Elizabeth Dees and Dorothy Lee Cribbs; four brothers, Leo, Kermitt, Junior Lee and Hubert Cullum; one sister, Wiladean Cullum; and three grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters, Doris Erwin of Piggott, Mickie Besserman and husband, Steve, of Piggott, JoAnn Oliver and husband, Steven, of Piggott and Barbara Sutfin and husband, Larry, of Brookland; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Redman of Perryville, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Byron Griffey officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Greg Reeves, Randy Besserman, Dion Sutfin, Noel Sutfin, Justin Oliver and Douglas Cribbs.

Andrew Bryan Parrish Jr.
Andrew Bryan Parrish Jr., 81, of McMinnville, Tenn., died on Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan and Lola Parrish of Corning.
Survivors include three sons, Gary of Florida, David of North Carolina and Dennis of McMinnville; and many relatives and friends in Piggott, Corning, Michigan and many other areas.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at Highs Funeral Home, located at 101 College Street in McMinnville.
