Mary Ann Rochon
Mary Ann Rochon, 64, of Clarkston, Mich., formerly of Nimmons, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003.
Ms. Rochon had retired from Farmer Jack Groceries after 30 years of service. She was a member and former Union Steward of UFCW Local 876. She loved her grandchildren, bowling, Las Vegas and country music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Enes and Dovie Osmun.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Clayton and wife, Kelly, of White Lake, Mich.; Kenneth's father, Harold Clayton and wife, Marie, of Oscoda, Mich., and Fla.; four grandchildren, Alexandria, James, Trevor and Drew Clayton; her aunt, Florence Bruff; and a special friend, Karen Oliver.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Coats Funeral Home, located at 3141 Sashabaw Road in Waterford, Mich. Burial will follow at Ottawa Park Cemetery

Mary Ann Myers
Mary Ann Myers, 70, of Marquand, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at the Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown, Mo.
She was born on July 12, 1933, in Campbell, a daughter of William Wallace and Eva Bell Pierson Alderson.
On Sept. 27, 1956, in St. Louis, she was married to Marvin Basil Myers who preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1994.
Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and a member of Marquand Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Scott M. and Sandra Myers of Marquand, Mo.; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul E. and Lucille Alderson of Cherokee Pass, Mo.; one sister and brother-in-law, Melba J. and Donald Foster of Piggott; and three grandchildren, Caleb, Hannah and Rebekah Myers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown, Mo., with Rev. John Canterberry officiating. Interment followed in Whitener Cemetery
near Marquand.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

Doyle Allen "Hot" Blackwell
Doyle Allen "Hot" Blackwell, 52, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, in the Three Rivers Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Sept. 6, 1951, in Poplar Bluff, the son of the late Doyle and Cora Francis Ollis Blackwell.
He was united in marriage to Kelly Ann Merritt on Oct. 3, 1981, to this union two daughters were born.
He was employed by Southern Machine and Tool Company in Poplar Bluff for 27 years.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Ann Blackwell; two daughters, Katherine Ann Blackwell and Samantha Kay Blackwell; one sister, Dessie Garner and husband, Bill, all of Poplar Bluff; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Boyd Wicker officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery
in Pollard.

Dorris Edward Cox
Dorris Edward Cox
Dorris Edward Cox, co-founder of Cox Planing Mill and Lumber Company, died Feb. 10, 2004 in the Piggott Community Hospital.
He and three brothers formed a partnership to begin the lumber company in 1948, with Dorris managing the planing mill. After the death of his brother Doyle Cox, he became president until he retired.
Cox was active in civic affairs, serving as city alderman for two terms and on the Piggott Parks and Playground committee when "A Face in the Crowd" was filmed. He was also a member of the Lions Club for 33 years, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and president of the band boosters club in 1965 when the Piggott band marched in the Cotton Bowl Parade. He was a past president of the Piggott chapter of Gideons International and a member of the library board when the new library was built. He was instrumental in organizing the Jackson Street Mission Church that became Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Cox was a member of the First Baptist Church in Piggott since 1948. He was elected a deacon in 1952 and served in many other capacities in the church including teacher in the television ministry, training union director, leader and teacher for boys programs and served on numerous committees.
Cox entered the U.S. Army on April 4, 1941, in Evansville, Ind., and served until his discharge as a staff sergeant on Oct. 12, 1945. He was on the U.S. President Johnson Liberty Ship in the Pacific Ocean when Pearl Harbor was attacked and was in the initial invasion in the Philippines at Layte and at Okinawa.
Cox, 85, was born May 1, 1918, near Greenway, son of the late William Orley and Alda Henager Cox. He had been a resident of General Baptist Nursing Home for the past six years.
He was united in marriage to Camilla Bricker on May 1, 1946, in Piggott and to this union three children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Doyle, Delbert and Randall Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Camilla Cox; three children, Alan D. Cox and wife, Bonnie, of Benton, La., Judy Catherine Phillips and husband, Michael, of Dardanelle, Ark., and Carol Ann Cox of Piggott; two grandchildren, Larissa and Kevin Cox of Fayetteville; two sisters, Neva Bradford of the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell and Genevieve Hill and husband, Hardin, of Greenway; a sister-in-law, Rilla Cox of Campbell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at Irby Funeral Home in Piggott. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at Irby Funeral Home in Piggott, with Rev. Charles Carrens officiating. Burial will be in the Piggott Cemetery.
Jean Katherine Johnson
Jean Katherine Johnson, 76, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Piggott, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, in the Magnolia Manor in Metropolis, Ill.
She was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Clint and Edna Williams Davis.
She was united in marriage to Edmon Johnson and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Woody Davis; and one sister, Galya Colin.
She is survived by her husband, Edmon Johnson of Paducah; one daughter, Sherry Jernigan of Paducah; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Nicole Weber of Paducah; one brother, Wes Davis of Ky.; two sisters, Mary Wagner of Mich. and Wanda Randall of Ala.; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery.

Winston Dix Stallings
Winston Dix Stallings, age 70, of Russellville, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
A son of the late Albert Eugene and Melrose Winston Stallings, he was born July 21, 1933, in Piggott.
He was a 1951 graduate of Piggott High School and a 1955 graduate of Arkansas Tech University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. He graduated from the University of North Texas in 1958 with a Master's Degree, and received a Doctorate of Education from the University of Arkansas in 1975.
He served as band director for Star City Public Schools from 1955 through 1957 and Smackover Public Schools from 1957 through 1963. He was band director and Fine Arts Coordinator for El Dorado Public Schools from 1963 through 1967. In 1967 he became director for the Arkansas Valley Cultural Enrichment Project, serving until 1971, when he became District Sales Manager for a division of Beatrice Foods.
In 1974 he became Vice President for Public Affairs for Arkansas Tech University and served for twenty-one years, retiring in 1995. During his service there he was Executive Director of the ATU Foundation, was in charge of Alumni Affairs, responsible for public relations, development and student recruitment.
He was a member of Potts Inn Foundation Board, Russellville United Way, serving on the Board of Directors from 1980 through 1983, CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education), District IV Board of Directors, the Russellville Rotary Club where he was a former president and a Paul Harris Fellow, and Central Presbyterian Church, where he was a former deacon and member of the Session.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Stallings.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Carolyn Stallings; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Theresa Stallings of Greenwich, Conn.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra Stallings of Rogers, and Sharon and Bobby Vickhouse of Virginia Beach, Va.; a step-son, David Cummings of Conway; a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Margaret Stallings of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Gary Deaton of Jackson, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Cory Teaff, Cydney Teaff, Bonnie Stallings and Max Stallings; a great-granddaughter, Emma Teaff; an aunt, Marguerite Swift of Piggott; and a number of nephews, nieces and cousins.
Graveside services and burial were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Oakland Cemetery
in Russellville. A memorial service followed at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Central Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ken Kalvesmaki and Rev. Mackey Yokem officiating.
Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville was in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Alcantara
Joseph Alcantara, 73, died Jan. 28, 2004, in Sun City West, Ariz., after a long illness.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict at the Chosin Reservoir and was a member of the Chosin Few Band of Fraternal Brothers.
He is survived by two brothers, Frank Alcantara and wife, Laura, of Glendora, Calif., and Robert Alcantara of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Vicky Sherman and husband, Anthony, of Rena Lara, Miss., Sharon Lucas and husband, Jim, of Piggott and Gay Kreinbrink and husand, Don, of Jackson, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Dane Moorman of Greenville, Miss., Nicholas Starling of Lubbock, Texas, Jason Simpson and wife, Tiffany, Chris Simpson and Brian Simpson, all of Piggott, Crystal Scott and husband, Craig, of Paragould, Brenee and Amber Kreinbrink of Jackson, Miss.;and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with full 
military honors was held at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel in Sun City West, Ariz., on Saturday, January 31, 2004.
Louise T. Worthington Kneitz
Louise T. Worthington Kneitz died Feb. 6, 2004.
She was the beloved wife of the late John A. Holahan, Fred Wilcoxson, Newt Blackwell and Henry Kneitz.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, John and Arthur Worthington.
She is survived by one son, Jack Holahan and wife, Maria; one sister, Kathryn Lodwick; four grandchildren, Kelly Murtaugh, Carmen, Duncan and Ashley Holahan; one special great-grandchild, Dylan Murtaugh; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Kneitz was a former AHEPA Resident. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The BackStoppers, 255 Lamp and Lantern Village, Chesterfield, Mo., 63017.

Todd Moffitt
Todd Moffitt, 25, of Campbell died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004.
He was born Nov. 29, 1978, in St. Louis, the son of Stanley L. and Kim K. Smith Moffitt.
Mr. Moffitt worked as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Betty Smith and Joan Duff.
He is survived by one daughter, Allison Moffitt of St. Francis; his father and step-mother, Stanley and Connie Moffitt of Campbell; his mother, Kim Moffitt of Campbell; three sisters, Carrie Moffitt Reeves of Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Heather Moffitt of Campbell and Abbey Moffitt of the United States Navy stationed in Guam; his grandfather, Dalton L. Moffitt of Campbell; an aunt and uncle, Cindy and Gerald Malin of Campbell; a niece, Bailey Davis; a nephew, Tanner Reeves; a great-uncle and great-aunt, Dalphus and Jane Moffitt of Poplar Bluff; a great-uncle, Burl Moffitt of Fagus; and several other relatives and friends.
