June Morrison Vann, age 88, a resident of Tyler, Texas, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, in Tyler, Texas.
She was born May 24, 1925, in Highland Park, Michigan.
Mrs. Vann was preceded in death by her parents, William W. Coker and Winnie Clinton Coker; one sister, Betty Coker Kane; her first husband, Dr. J. Howard Morrison and second husband, R. Roy Vann.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Dr. Jim and Sherry Morrison of Tyler, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law Jane and John Hill of Azle, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Graveside memorial services for Mrs. Vann will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Grannis Cemetery
with David Jacobs officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Kathryn Diann (Davis) Krebs
Mrs. Kathryn Diann (Davis) Krebs, age 61, a resident of Katy, Texas died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in Houston, Texas.
She was born March 6, 1952 in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was a lifelong educator, teaching for 37-1/2 years, after graduating from the University of Arkansas in 1974. She specialized in Early Childhood Education, teaching kindergarten for 24 years and earning a Masters Degree from the University of North Texas. She served as President of Kindergarten Teachers of Texas in 1994, leading the organization to one of the highest level of membership in its history. She touched the lives of countless children giving them a love of learning and literature. She mentored numerous young teachers, was awarded a lifetime membership in the PTA, and was Teacher of the Year at Fielder Elementary in Katy for 2008-09. She was very active in her church teaching children, singing specials and in the choir, playing the organ, leading women's ministries, and organizing events to promote fellowship. She loved The Lord and shared her faith wherever she went. She is remembered for her caring, her always present smile, and her infectious laugh. Even when going through treatments she brought comfort to her care givers and friends.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Harmon Davis.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 39 years, Greg Krebs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alyssa Krebs Wright and Paul of Campti, Louisiana, and Sarah Krebs Brubaker and Jeff of Birmingham, England; mother, Jeanice White Davis of Lodi, Arkansas; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Larry Davis of Weeki Wachee, Florida, and Donnie Davis and Pam of Lodi; three grandchildren, Dylan, London, and Logan Wright; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Krebs will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 in the Salem Missionary Baptist Church near Glenwood, Arkansas with Bro. Allen Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lodi Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time, Monday, June 10th at the church.
Loy Poag
Loy Poag, 87, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, June 3, 2013 in the De Queen Medical Center.
He was born October 25, 1925 in Horatio. He was a veteran, retired lumber mill owner and farmer. He owned Poag Lumber Company in Dierks with mills throughout Sevier, Howard, and Little River counties. Mr. Poag was an ordained Deacon at First Baptist Church in De Queen, he was a Mason and Gideon, served on the Board of Directors at Horatio State Bank, and was a member of the Good Sam’s and Eastern Star. Mr. Poag served in General Patton’s 3rd Army during World War II.
Mr. Poag was preceded in death by his parents, George Edward and Amanda Maddox Poag; three brothers, Phillip, Woodrow and Ernest; three sisters, Lena, Aggie and Vashtie; and one granddaughter, Emily McKellar.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lorene Wilson Poag; two daughters and son-in-laws, Sandra and Bobby Miller of De Queen and Donna and Tony McKellar of Rogers, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, Amy and Rob of De Queen and Elizabeth, Katherine and Nicole of Rogers, Arkansas; 3 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Allie and Ricky of De Queen; 2 great-great grandchildren, Kaden and Gunner of De Queen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Poag will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2013 at First Baptist Church in De Queen. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Edna Pauline Jones Bagley Beaty
Mrs. Edna Pauline Jones Bagley Beaty, age 89, a resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Monday, June 03, 2013, in the Brookewood Nursing Home, De Queen.
She was born to Benjamin and Nellie Porterfield Jones in Nathan, Arkansas, on August 15, 1923. She was a retired employee of Lane Poultry, as well as homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grannis, and enjoyed square dancing, flowers, puzzles, and animals, especially her cat, Baby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Otho and A. D. Jones, a step-son, Dale Beaty, two grandsons, Randy Farley, and Lyndon Farley, and in 2008, her Husband, Wayne Beaty.
She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Gwen Bagley of Ashdown, Terry and Janice Bagley of Grannis, Larry and Kyndell Bagley of De Queen, Doyle and Mary Bagley of Wickes, and Jerry and Karen Beaty of Hatton, Arkansas, three daughters and a son-in-law, Louise Farley of Alvin, Texas, Ruby Bagley of Shreveport, La., and Helen and Lester Overturf of Gillham, Ark., 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Edna Bagley Beaty will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 5th In the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Homer Frachiseur officiating. Burial will follow in the Overturf Cemetery, Gillham, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Mr. Robert Dale Oglesby
Mr. Robert Dale Oglesby, age 75, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Friday, May 31, 2013 at his home.
He was born to Filander and Nannie Elizabeth Baker Oglesby at Wickes, Arkansas, on April 16, 1938. He was retired from the Kansas City Southern Railway with 38 years service, as well as a cattle, poultry, and rabbit farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert Douglas Oglesby, a daughter, Michelle Rowe, and his siblings, Gale Oglesby, Velton Oglesby, Delton Oglesby, Gerald Oglesby, Janice Faye Diggs, and Rose Oglesby.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Morris Oglesby of Gillham, a son and daughter-in-law, Tony Dale and Lorena Oglesby of Wickes, a daughter, Andrea Oglesby of Gillham, a sister and brother-in-law, Minnie and George Littel of Wickes, seven grandchildren, Melissa, Maria, Angelica, Ava, Adrianna, Elijah, and Josiah, a great-grandchild, Violet, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Dale Oglesby will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 4th in the Baker Cemetery.
Mrs. Christine Margaret Cooper Watkins
Mrs. Christine Margaret Cooper Watkins, age 93, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas, died Saturday, June 1st in the Brookewood Nursing & Rehab, De Queen, Arkansas.
She was born to James Terry and Cora Elizabeth Buckner Cooper at Gillham, Arkansas, on March 3, 1920. She was a homemaker, and a minister of the Gospel. She became a member of the Church of Nazarene in 1951, and served her Lord from that day forward. She enjoyed quilting, and spending time with her family. She served at PTA President and on the Sevier Polk County Election Board for close to 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Elton Coy Powell in 1942, and W. C. Watkins, Sr. in 1994, and her brothers, B. F. Cooper, Hershel Cooper, Ebe Cooper, and a son-in-law, Gerald Petross.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, W.C., Jr. and Gail Watkins of Wickes, three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Petross of Wickes, Liz and Don Richardson of Grannis, and Charlotte and Bob Hartley also of Wickes, ten grandchildren, Joseph, Gerald, Justin, Cameron, Renae, Carlton, Donna, John, Leslie, and Heather, seventeen great-grandchildren, a sister, Irene Wax of Gillham, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Christine Watkins will be held at 4:00 P.M., Monday, June 3rd in the Church of the Nazarene, Wickes, Arkansas. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery, Wickes, Arkansas.
James E. “Bud” Riley
James E. “Bud” Riley, 75, a resident of Gillham, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his home.
He was born Nov. 15, 1937 in Gillham. He was a truck driver since the age of 17 and retired as a driver for Pilgrim’s Pride. He was also employed by Frozen Food Express, Southern LP Gas and other trucking entities during his 60 years on the road. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending most of his Novembers at deer camp, and he was also an avid conversationalist, whether at the coffee shop, on the porch or at the kitchen table.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Branom Riley and Bertha McAnelly Riley; two half-sisters, Bessie Page and Deda Alexander; one sister, Agnes Jones; and one brother, Mitchell Riley.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary Linda (Friday) Riley; three step-sons and one step-daughter-in law, David Smith of Texarkana, Mike and Rhonda Smith of De Queen and Scott Smith of De Queen; two sisters, Alice Bishop of Roseburg, Oregon and Maxine Barnes of Gillham; and eight step-grandchildren, Dustin Smith of Conway, Megan Smith of Hot Springs, Tiffany Shea of West Memphis, Seth Smith of Cabot and Ashley Smith, Brandon Smith, Cameron Smith and Sarah Smith, all of De Queen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Rev. Shane Haarmeyer officiating. Interment will follow at Redmen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., May 31, at the funeral home.
Henry Melvin Ruth
Henry Melvin Ruth, age 83, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Monday, May 27, 2013, in New Boston, Texas.
He was born March 28, 1930 in De Queen. He was a retired logger.
Mr. Ruth was preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah and Beulah Burris Ruth; his wife, Reba Mae McIntrye Ruth and one son, Doyle Ruth.
He is survived one daughter, Darla L. Davis and husband, Larry of Cove, Arkansas; three sons, Kenneth D. Roberts and wife Linda of Spokane, Washington, Melvin Ruth of Horatio, Arkansas and Vernon Ruth of Gillham, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Relinda Ruth of Dierks, Arkansas; one brother, James Ruth of De Queen, Arkansas; one sister, Marie Ford of Salisaw, Oklahoma, and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral Services for Mr. Ruth will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013 in the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. Wesley Blankenship and Larry Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Ayden Ray Driver, infant son of Geishla Driver and Jeffrey Hankins, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in De Queen.
He was born April 24, 2013 in Mena, Arkansas.
Ayden was preceded in death by his grandmother, Renee Driver.
Besides his parents, Ayden is survived by his siblings, Austin Driver, Allie Driver, Jase Hankins, Harlie Hankins and Sonnie Hankins; his aunt, Susan Driver; and his grandfather, John Driver.

Mrs. Iva Louise Jones Smith
Mrs. Iva Louise Jones Smith, age 104, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Monday, May 27, 2013 in the Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.
She was born January 12, 1909 in Grannis, Arkansas. She was a retired L.P.N. for the De Queen Clinic, a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen and the Genesis Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Eli Sherman and Sarah Katherine Hungate Jones; her husband, Edgar Lee Smith; her son, Edward Lee “Buster” Smith; and her granddaughter, Lisa Clements.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Ray Wilson of De Queen; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Charles and Debbie Smith of Grand Prairie, Texas; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kathy and Lonnie Johnson of De Queen; and her great grandchildren, Dr. Sarah and Dr. Jason Cobb of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tyler Johnson of De Queen, Austin Johnson of De Queen, Erin Smith of Grand Prairie, and Jordan and Stephanie Smith of Denton, Texas.

Mrs. Betty Virginia Renfrow Cox
Mrs. Betty Virginia Renfrow Cox, age 79, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Saturday, May 25, 2013 in the De Queen Medical Center.
She was born May 19, 1934 in Longview, Texas. She was a Certified Professional Secretary, having worked for International Paper and Cossatot Community College, and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her parents, William Moland Renfrow, Sr. and Lorene Johanna Johle Renfrow; her husband, Leroy Cox; one brother, Robert Renfrow; and a grandson, Kyle Titsworth.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Dena and Daren Ross of Mena, Arkansas, and Leanne and Grant Barnett of El Dorado, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Kelly Cox of Magnolia, Texas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Vivian and Edward Fears of De Queen and Judy Ford of Garland, Texas; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William M. “Bill” Renfrow, Jr. and Merle of De Queen, and Roger Renfrow of Genoa, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
