Hardy
DALLAS -- Mary Jernigan Hardy, 92, of Dallas died Monday, June 21, in Dallas.
Born in McCrory, she was a graduate of McCrory High School and the University of Central Arkansas. She did graduate work at the University of North Texas at Denton. She was a librarian with Galveston and Dallas public schools for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. B. Wilson Hardy of Wilmington, N.C., and John McCrory Hardy of Dallas; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Bennett Hardy.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fakes Cemetery
in McCrory with the Rev. Lavon Bloodworth officiating.
Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Hitt
HARRISBURG -- Funeral services for Levi L. Hitt, 92, of Harrisburg, who died Friday, June 18, in Jonesboro, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
The Rev. Gary Brown and the Rev. Harold Ray will officiate, and burial will follow in Bolivar Cemetery
at Harrisburg under the direction of Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.
His children will serve as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will include the Rev. Erlan Teague, Robert Woodrum, Charley Reeves, J.F. Winningham, George Haner, Lowell Brooks, Charles Metzler Jr., James Baggett, Bill Cowgur and JoAnn Cowgur.
Born in Morgan County, Ala., he retired as the owner and operator of Hitt Furniture Co. in Jonesboro and was a former car salesman, mechanic and farmer.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and song leader.
Survivors include six sons, Bobby J. Hitt of Monroe, La., L. Howard Hitt of Harrisburg, C. Wayne Hitt of Kapolei, Hawaii, Tommy E. Hitt of Jonesboro, Maurice L. Hitt of Arkadelphia and K. Barry Hitt of Cerritos, Calif.; a daughter, E. Janet Simpson of Harrisburg; a sister, Lena Petero of Jonesboro; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maurice Harriett Donel Hitt, his parents, one brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Holder
McCRORY -- Mary Louise Bates Holder, 89, of McCrory died Tuesday, June 22, at Harris Hospital in Newport.
Born at Augusta, she was a graduate of Augusta High School and a member of Fakes Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include one grandson, John Benson Holder of McCrory, one great-granddaughter and one great-great-grand daugther.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ray Holder, and her parents, John Benson and Mary Nelson Bates.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory. Burial will follow in Fakes Chapel Cemetery.
John Benson Holder, Tony Bull, Billy Joe Bull, Walter Rushing, Eddie Rushing, John Jimerson, Jim Darling, Joe Peebles and Thomas Graham will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bryan Jones, 33, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, June 22, at Amagon.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Lamb
MANILA -- Jerry Lee Lamb, 61, of Manila died Monday, June 21, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.
He was an Army veteran and had worked as a service technician for MFA Oil Co.
Survivors include a son, Brian Lamb of Farmington, Mo.; a daughter, Tina Angelly of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Barbara Challis of Keiser; three sisters, Geraldean Martin of Manila, Anna Huggins of Poplar Bluff and Betty Barry of St. Louis; two brothers, Charles Lamb of Bee Branch and Hollis Lamb of Judsonia; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lamb, and his parents.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today in Manila Cemetery
under the direction of Roller-Swift Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

CHEROKEE VILLAGE -- Funeral services for Vera Jean Lambert, 75, of Cherokee Village, who died Sunday, June 20, in Jonesboro, will be at 10 a.m. today at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel Funeral Services.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Graham Cemetery
at Benton.
Born in Malvern, she was active in business for 32 years and was the owner and operator of a supermarket and restaurant in Cherokee Village, retiring in 1998. She was a charter member of the Spring River Business and Professional Women's Association, an organization which selected her as the Woman of the Millennium in 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Galen Lambert of Cherokee Village and Stewart Kent Lambert of Jonesboro; a daughter, Linda Lou Lambert of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Stewart Zachary Lambert and Emily Ann Rock, both of Jonesboro; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
McNeight
CHEROKEE VILLAGE -- Geraldine P. McNeight, 76, of Cherokee Village died Sunday, June 20, at Cherokee Village.
She was born in Dunkirk, N.Y., and moved to Cherokee Village with her husband 10 years ago from Sterling Heights, Mich. While living in Cherokee Village she was a member of the Cherokee Village Players and was a volunteer for the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Gene H. McNeight of the home; one daughter, Colleen A. Wise of Cherokee Village; two sons, V. Clark McNeight of Beverly Hills, Fla., and Charles McNeight of Rochester Hills, Mich.; one sister, Joyce Donnelly of Highland Village, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Cherokee Village United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland is in charge of arrangements.

ASH FLAT -- Funeral services for L. Alene Johnson Gibbs Schulte, 56, of Ash Flat, who died Monday, June 21, at Huntsville, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of House-Gregg Funeral Home at Walnut Ridge.
Bill Wheeler and Buford Blaney will officiate, and burial will follow in Arnold Cemetery
at Swifton.
Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born at Cash, she had lived in Ash Flat since September. She formerly lived in Rogers and Hoxie and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Schulte of the home; three daughters, Valerie Holcomb of McCrory, Chrissee Gibbs of Fayetteville and Jennifer Arnold of Rogers; two stepsons, Bob Schulte and Jack Schulte; two stepdaughters, Kathy Miller and Judy Libke; four sisters, Mary Ann Jones of Ash Flat, Faye Lewis of Springdale, Karen Selman of Lincoln and Lynn McCamis of Highland; four brothers, J.T. Johnson of Ash Flat, Roy Johnson of Highland, Charles Ray Johnson of Fortville, Ind., and Wayne Johnson of Shreveport, La.; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Lee Gibbs; her parents, James T. and Alma Carr Johnson; one brother, Clarence Johnson; a sister, Loreda Burgett; and one grandchild, Charles Blain Frasier.
Smith infant
POCAHONTAS -- Summar Dauwn Smith, infant daughter of Tameca Michelle Jones and Calvin Don Smith, both of Pocahontas, died Sunday, June 20, at Harris Hospital.
She was born in Newport.
Survivors include two brothers, Brently Jones and Lance Lane, both of Pocahontas; her grandparents, Vivian Morris of Maynard, Calvin Smith of Knobel, Marilyn Casey of Pocahontas and Jimmy Winkle of Senath, Mo.; her great-grandparents, Billie and Charlene Johnson of Peach Orchard, Robert Jones of Pocahontas and Delnora Jones of Hardy; and her great-great-grandmother, Mary Smith of Knobel.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Nora Winkle.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Chesser Cemetery
at Pocahontas, with Gary Moore officiating. McNabb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
