MR. HAROLD HARRISON

Mr. Harold Harrison, age 88, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Sunday, February 14, 2010 in De Queen.

He was born March 3, 1921 in the Melrose Community in Sevier County to Thomas and Bessie Johnson Harrison. He was a retired pipefitter, served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a member of the V.F.W. and the D.A.V. and was a Methodist.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Billie Harrison.

Survivors include one step-son, Douglas Harmon of Lafayette, Indiana; two step-daughters, Brenda Perkins and Joyce Beverly, both of Carrollton, Kentucky.

Funeral Services for Mr. Harrison will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the Bellville Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Wesley Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in the Bellville Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

MRS. ALMA WELLS WOLCOTT

Alma WolcottMRS. ALMA WELLS WOLCOTT, AGE 87, A RESIDENT OF DE QUEEN, DIED SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2010, IN THE MENA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, MENA, ARK.

SHE WAS BORN TO HARRY AND ORA NORWOOD WELLS AT WILTON, ARKANSAS, ON SEPTEMBER 9, 1922. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE BEACON HILL SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, AND A HOMEMAKER. SHE ENJOYED SEWING, QUILTING, AND SPENDING TIME WITH HER FAMILY, ESPECIALLY HER GRANDCHILDREN.

SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, HER SIBLINGS, MARSHALL, CHARLES, CARL, RUBY, LUCILLE, MAGGIE, GLADYS, AND CHARLENE, AND ON JANUARY 30TH, HER BELOVED HUSBAND OF OVER 68 YEARS, ROBERT R. WOLCOTT.

HE WAS BORN TO JOHN AND JESSIE FAYE PAUL CARLSTEAD AT TEXARKANA, ARKANSAS, ON NOVEMBER 29, 1964. HE WAS A DIESEL MECHANIC, AND A MEMBER OF THE FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH OF DE QUEEN. HE ENJOYED FISHING, CAMPING, AND SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY, AND FRIENDS.

Lydia Deann Watson Bowers

Lydia Deann Watson Bowers, age 50, a resident of DeQueen, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at her home.

She was born March 8, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Hershel Day Watson and JoAnn Miller. She was a CNA and a member of the First Pentecostal Church of God.She was preceded in death by her husband, Oneal Ross “Okie” Bowers on May 20, 2006.

She is survived by one son, Jackie Dean Pruitt; two daughters, Leeann Morales and Felicia Gonzales all of De Queen; her mother and step-father, JoAnn and Billy Brizendine; six sisters, Cindy Gutierrez, Debra Alvis, Donna Dunn, Lisa Lopez, Shirlene Navarette and Jackie Godsby all of De Queen; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bowers will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010 in the First Pentecostal Church of God in De Queen with Eddie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Avon Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 12th at the funeral home.

Guy Ambrose Fitzgerald

Mr. Guy Ambrose Fitzgerald, age 84, a resident of Duncan, Oklahoma, and formerly of Foreman, Arkansas died Sunday, February 7, 2010 in Duncan.

He was born April 29, 1925 in Graham, Oklahoma. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served in the Sea Bees and a Methodist.

Mr. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by his parents, E. A. and Gussie LeFlore Fitzgerald; one brother, Rev. R.B. Fitzgerald; and two sisters, Margie Pauline Douthitt and Doris June Fitzgerald.

He is survived by two sisters, Fairie Gauldin of Foreman and Mary Lou Rogers of Moss Point, Mississippi; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Fitzgerald will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in the Campground Cemetery with Rev. David Tucker officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Frank A. Lindsey

Mr. Frank A. Lindsey, age 85, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas died Sunday, February 7, 2010 in the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born February 21, 1924 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a pipe fitter and a veteran. Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Eva Cooksy Lindsey.
He is survived by one nephew, Bob Lindsey of Crossroads, Arkansas; one niece, Barbara Cargo of Arlington, Texas, and several extended nieces and nephews. Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Lindsey will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in the Campground Cemetery with Rev. Audie Dawson officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Paul Fredrick Poole

Paul Fredrick Poole, 67, of Cabot died Tuesday, February 2, 2010. He was born May 25th, 1942 in Horatio, Ar. to Helen Bailey Poole of Cabot and the late Paul Emerson Poole. Mr. Poole enjoyed training and riding horses. He was preceded in death by his father and two sons, Paul and Edward Poole.

Mr. Poole is survived by his wife, Nona Poole of the home, his mother Helen Bailey Poole of Cabot, a sister Rosalie Petersen (Dr. Rex) of Mississippi, one brother David Poole (Carolyn) of Sheridan and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Cabot with burial to follow at Millwee Cemetery in Horatio. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.

Charles Neal Jones Jr.

Mr. Charles Neal Jones, Jr., age 60, a resident of Little River Club near Winthrop, Arkansas, died Monday, February 1, 2010, at his home.

He was born January 7, 1950, in De Queen. He was a graduate of DeQueen High School, attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and was a retired respiratory therapist.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Charles Neal Jones, Sr. and Kathryn “Kay” Kelly Jones.

He is survived by one daughter, Lacey Jones, and one son, Blake Neal Jones, both of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sisters, Patricia Jones Edstrom of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Judy Jones Allison of Little Rock, Arkansas; one brother, Steve Jones of Sherwood, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews. No services are scheduled at this time.

CHERYLL LYNN GRAY

Cheryll Lynn Gray passed away near her home in Port Orchard, January 25, 2010. Cheryll was born May 30, 1969 to Judith Jergens and Steven Belcher in DeQueen, AR.
Cheryll had a passion for art, her animals, music and most of all spending time with her family. She won numerous awards for her beauty at Arkansas Rodeos, graduated with honors from graphic design school and was currently enrolled in the welder apprenticeship program at the Bremerton Naval Shipyard where she was working.

Cheryll is survived by her husband Robert Gray, daughters Brooke Herrick and Dani Gray, her father Steven Belcher and her mother Judith Jergens, her In-Laws Bob and Marvel Gray, sister Melanie (Rob) Gilmore, brother Darrell Belcher and niece Hannah Fugman as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Cheryll’s Life service will be held Monday February 1st at 10:00am at the LDS Chapel at 1550 Hoover SE, Port Orchard, WA. with graveside service to follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.

ROBERT ROY WOLCOTT

MR. ROBERT ROY WOLCOTT, AGE 89, A RESIDENT OF DE QUEEN, AR, DIED SATURDAY, JANUARY 30, 2010, IN THE DE QUEEN MEDICAL CENTER, DE QUEEN.
HE WAS BORN TO RAY AND PEARL FRANKS WOLCOTT AT WILTON, ARKANSAS, ON APRIL 29, 1920. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE BEACON HILL SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, AND WAS A RETIRED CARPENTER. HE ENJOYED GARDENING, AND COON HUNTING.

HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, AND A BROTHER, JACK WOLCOTT.

Mr. Elmer John Robert Elmore, age 58, a resident of Gilliam, AR, died Friday, January 29, 2010 in the De Queen Medical Center.

He was born July 31, 1951 in Mansfield, AR. He was a retired logger.

Mr. Elmore was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Opal Virginia Crump Elmore.

He is survived by his wife, Karen King Elmore; four sons and three daughters, Bobby Elmore, Darrell and his wife Kristi Elmore, Jeffrey Elmore and Michael Elmore all of Gillham, AR, Brandie Elmore of Gillham, Shanon Elmore of San Leon, TX and Jessica Crump of Lubbock, TX; eleven brothers and sisters, Lenual Elmore and wife, Cherry, Sam Elmore, Virginia Reynolds and Demus Elmore and wife, Marthie all of Brownfield, TX, Rocky Elmore and wife Brenda of Bowie, TX, June Stewart of Snyder, TX, Ricky Elmore and wife Wendy of Gillham, AR, Charles Tatum and wife Christy of Hobbs, NM, Bea Emery and husband J.R. of Ola, AR, Charles Elmore of Morton, TX and Johnny Elmore and wife Laura(Honey) of Huntington, AR and six granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Mr. Elmore will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the home of Ricky Elmore at 101 N. 2nd St., Gillham, Arkansas with Rev. Eva Houston officiating.
