Mary Sue Hill
Mary Sue Hill, age 78, of Dallas, TX, formerly of Texarkana, died Monday, March 1, 2010 in a Farmers Branch nursing center.
She was born October 31, 1931, in McKamie, AR. She was retired from Day and Zimmermann as a scale mechanic and was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben T. Hill, Jr.
She is survived by two sons, John Way McKnight and George Harrison McKnight; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and John Eriksen; 6 grandchildren, Rhonda Holder, Giana Slavinsky, Rusty McKnight, George McKnight, II, Greg Eriksen and Randy Eriksen; 8 great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel, Texarkana, TX. Private entombment will be in Chapelwood Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Texarkana Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Alliance or to a charity of your choice.
Franklin Wilford Dorse
Mr. Franklin Wilford Dorse, age 50, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010, in Christus St. Michael’s Hospital, Texarkana.
He was born to Cecil and Wanda Prater Dorse at Newport, Arkansas, on November 23, 1959.
He was an active member of the Westline Holiness Church, and was a retired carpenter. He enjoyed teaching at the Westline Christian Academy, hunting, 4-Wheelers, singing, and sharing funny stories.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Dewayne Dorse.
He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Lisa Morris Dorse of De Queen, two sons and daughters-in-law, Julian and Deborah Dorse of Umpire, Ark., and Andy and LaShana Dorse of Athens, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Jonathan Weeks of De Queen, his mother, Wanda Dorse of Ashdown, Ark.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Carol Dorse.; Lucky Dorse, and his special friend, Brenda of Fouke, Ark.; and Charles and Vhonda Dorse of Ashdown, Ark.; one sister, Nora Owens of Fouke, Ark.; six grandchildren, Taylor, Melissa, Tyler, Miranda, Trace, and Liberty, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Frank Dorse are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, and will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27th in the First Assembly of God Church of De Queen, with Bro. Tracy Welch, Bro. Don Vaughn, and Bro. Jonathan Dorse officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, February 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Carolyn Watson Adkins
Carolyn Watson Adkins, age 70, a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana died Sunday, February 21, 2010 in the LifeCare Hospital in Shreveport.
She was born February 25, 1939 in Horatio, Arkansas and later moved to Shreveport.
Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Watson and one brother, James D. Watson.
She is survived by her mother, Marjorie Janes Watson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Dave Lawson and Sharon and Jodie Gary; one brother and sister-in-law, John Richard and Renee Watson; three grandchildren, Christian King, Ashley Lawson and Tyler Lawson; one great-granddaughter, Raylee King; one nephew, Heath Watson and wife Joni; one niece, Casey Gardiner and husband William; one great niece, Daelyn Bassham; four great-nephews, Jaymin Watson, Jaryn Watson, Finn Gardiner and Trinity Gardiner; and her grand-critters, OT, Ms. Monkey, Libby, Camille, Chip, Polly, Girly Girl and Fudge.
Visitation for Mrs. Adkins will be held from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen. Graveside Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m., in the Old Center Cemetery
in Horatio, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

MRS. WONDA JOUNITA CHAFFIN STEWART, AGE 85, A RESIDENT OF HORATIO, DIED WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH AT HER HOME.
SHE WAS BORN TO TOLL BRYAN AND HATTIE ABAGAIL DILL CHAFFIN AT RICHMOND, ARKANSAS, ON JANUARY 11, 1925. SHE WAS RETIRED FROM LUBY’S IN DALLAS, AS WELL AS A HOMEMAKER. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH OF HORATIO, AND ENJOYED FISHING, AND FLOWERS.
SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, TWO SONS, BOBBY EARL STEWART AND CHARLES BRYAN STEWART, AND HER HUSBAND, BOYCE STEWART.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY A SON, JIMMY LEE STEWART OF DE QUEEN, A DAUGHTER AND SON-IN-LAW, DIANE AND MICHAEL VAN HOUTAN OF HORATIO, ARK.; ONE BROTHER, LEROY CHAFFIN OF PARIS, TEXAS, THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, THIRTY-FOUR GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, FIVE GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN AND A NUMBER OF NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

Patricia Ann Richardson, age 58, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in the De Queen Medical Center.
She was born July 22, 1951.
Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford Clarence and Bertha Nell Burdan Knott.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Dale Richardson; two sisters, Kathy May of De Queen and Linda Cessor of McGhee, Arkansas; one nephew, Wilford Travis Mosier and wife Elizabeth; three nieces, Margie Mosier, Karen Vazkyz and Teresa Newton; and one great-niece, Katherine Fisher. Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Richardson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2010 in the Chapel Hill Cemetery

Don Allen Hearn
Mr. Don Allen Hearn, age 47, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, February 20th at his home.
He was born to Euil and Donna Abshier Hearn at Dallas, Texas, on March 8, 1962. He was a truck driver, and was a member of the Horatio Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed scuba diving, riding motorcycles, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Donna Faye Hearn of De Queen, one brother, Euil Wayne Hearn of De Queen, one sister, and brother-in-law, Tina Renae and Chris Davis of Lowell, Ark.; and one niece, Ashley Christina Davis of Russellville, Ark.
Funeral Services for Mr. Don Hearn are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen, and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24th in the First Assembly of God Church, Horatio, with Rev. Mr. Billie “Bill” Howard Sherrouse, age 65, of Cove, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Cove.
He was born October 13, 1944 in Porter, Texas to the late Jessie H. Sherrouse, and Flora Marie Renfroe Sherrouse. He was a logger by profession and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cove Revival Center with Brother Ron Tilley and Brother Reggie Fryar officiating. Interment will follow at Gann Cemetery
under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, February 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

MR. DAN BARNETT CALDWELL, AGE 89, A RESIDENT OF DE QUEEN, ARKANSAS, DIED MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2010, IN THE DE QUEEN MEDICAL CENTER.
HE WAS BORN TO JOE WILLIAM AND CHARITY BEAL WILLIAMS CALDWELL, IN GOODWATER, OKLAHOMA, ON MARCH 12, 1920. HE WAS A 1942 DE QUEEN HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE, AND WAS A CATTLE RANCHER. HE WAS A SEVIER COUNTY FARMER’S CO-OP BOARD MEMBER, A 35 YEAR MEMBER OF THE SEVIER COUNTY COMMUNITY COMMITTEE AND COUNTY COMMITTEE FOR THE AGRICULTURE STABILIZATION AND CONSERVATION SERVICE. HE ENJOYED WORKING CATTLE, RIDING HORSES, AND WORKING DOGS.
HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, HIS SIBLINGS, LUCY JACKSON, OTHO CALDWELL, RUFUS CALDWELL, FLORENCE FARLEY, GARLAND CALDWELL, DAVID CALDWELL, IDA PIERCE, HENRY CALDWELL, BEULAH HORNBECK, AND EARL CALDWELL.
HE IS SURVIVED BY ONE SISTER, MARY LOU NUNN OF ADA, OKLAHOMA; A SISTER-IN-LAW, MAMIE CALDWELL OF DE QUEEN, AND TWELVE NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

Wayne Wilson
Wayne Wilson, age 76, of De Queen, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 in De Queen.
He was born February 25, 1933 in Wickes, Arkansas to the late John Nathan Wilson and the late Eliza Stevens Wilson. He was a pipe liner by profession as well as working in the logging industry. He served in the United States Army. He spent his last years at Brookewood Nursing Center where he raised a garden. Mr. Wilson was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
