Charlene Elizabeth Turner Chenoweth

Mrs. Charlene Elizabeth Turner Chenoweth, age 89, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Saturday, November 7, 2009 in De Queen.

She was born May 5, 1920 in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Almond Church.

Mrs. Chenoweth was preceded in death by her parents Charles Egbert and Eula Blair Ross Turner, husband Charles Milton Chenoweth in 1972; son, Wayne Chenoweth; two brothers, Pellie Turner and Paul Turner; one sister, Idell Turner and a granddaughter, Robin Bryant.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Kay Chenoweth of De Queen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Bobby Rightmire of De Queen and Rosemary and Donald Tollett of Texarkana, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Wanda Chenoweth; ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one niece and three nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Chenoweth will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in the Pullman Cemetery near De Queen with Rev. Bob McMannus officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Jacqueline Raye Cole McWilliams Neal

Mrs. Jacqueline Raye Cole McWilliams Neal, age 72, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Saturday, November 7, 2009 in the St. Joseph Mercy Health Center, Hot Springs, Ark.
She was born at Checota, Oklahoma, on February 5, 1937. She was an LPN, had worked in medical records, as well as Assistant Administrator with Brookwood Nursing Center, De Queen. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and attended the Antioch Baptist Church at Nashville. She was a member of the De Queen AARP, where she served as President. She was the Ombudsman for Arkansas Long Term Care for the residents in the Dierks Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her mother, and her first husband, Clayborn Hayes McWilliams, two sons, Randy McWilliams, and Douglas McWilliams.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle Neal of Dierks, three daughters, Carol Bearden of Ashdown, Cathy Diggs of Dierks, and Cheryl Rudy of Philadelphia, Penn, a step-son, Bobby Neal of Dierks, a step-daughter, Donna Childress of Hope, Ark.; a brother, Gary McGuire of Mt. Vernon, New Hampshire, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Mrs. Jackie McWilliams Neal are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, and will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Bobby Neal officiating.

Memorials may be made to the CCUA LPN Scholarship Fund

Bobbie Jean Pearce Cook

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Pearce Cook, age 79, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, in the Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana.
She was born to Toy and Emma Nuttall Johnson at De Queen, Arkansas, on February 6, 1930. She was a retired owner of a Upholstery Supply Store, as well as a homemaker. She was a Baptist, and enjoyed fishing, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Larry Charles Pearce, and her husband, Loamen Cook.

She is survived by her companion, Luke Stafford of De Queen, a son, Timothy Pearce of De Queen, two step-daughters, Mary Ann Morreale of New Mexico, and Pamela Cordua of Oregon, two grandsons, Matthew Pearce of Calif. and Loamen Cordua of Georgia, three granddaughters, Brittany Pearce of Hawley, Texas, Jamie Cordua of Georgia, and Teresa Cordua of Oregon, four great-grandchildren, three sisters, Betty Chapman of Yuba City, Calif., Pat Balock of Oregon, and Sue Martin Haines of San Bernardino, Calif., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Cook are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12th in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, De Queen.

The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11th From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Flossie Helms

Mrs. Flossie Helms, age 93, a resident of Lockesburg, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in the Little River Nursing Home in Ashdown, Arkansas.

She was born July 6, 1916 in Sevier County. She was a homemaker, Sunday school teacher and member of the Old Time Gospel Church.

Mrs. Helms was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Effie Crow Mattingly and her husband, Arvin Helms in 1961.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara and Carlos Easley of Cedar Park, Texas and Patsy Terry Skelton of De Kalb, Texas; four sons and daughters-in-law, James Roy and Sondra Helms of Fouke, Arkansas, Billy Joe and Glenda Helms of Ashdown, Arkansas, Jerrel and Rose Anne Helms of Lockesburg, Arkansas and Dwight and Jimmie Nell Helms of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sisters, Lorene Zachry of Burkville, Texas and Robbie Medley of Nederland, Texas; three brothers, Edmund Mattingly of Portland, Oregon, Vaughn Mattingly of Roseburg, Oregon and Dale Mattingly of West Monroe, Louisiana; 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren;18 great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Helms will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2009 in the Old Time Gospel Church near Lockesburg with Donnie DeLoney and Wallace Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the McHorse Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Wanda Fay McClure Morris

Mrs. Wanda Fay McClure Morris, age 76, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, November 02, 2009, in the Brookwood Nursing and Rehab Center, De Queen.
She was born to Samuel Carson and Ola B. Caraway McClure at Decatur, Texas, on June 24, 1933. She was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sunshine E.H.C. Club, where she had served as President and Vice-President. She was also past President of the County Extension Homemakers Club. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and Blue Grass Music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jimmy Lee and Kenneth McClure, and in 2007, her husband of over 52 years, Joe Morris.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Lee and Kimberly Morris of Richmond, Texas, Don Kevin and Heather Morris of De Queen, one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Van Kimbro of Dallas, Texas, six grandchildren, Ryan, Kelli, Jeff, Amy, Haley, and Jesse, four brothers, Sam B. McClure and Bobby R. McClure both of Decatur, Texas, Eddie McClure of Bowie, Texas, and Jerry Joe McClure of Oregon, two sisters, Lou Neally of Yantis, Texas, and Sherry Minton of Graford, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wanda Morris are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen, and will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Van Ledbetter officiating. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Decatur, Texas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Carl Monroe “Blue” Higgins

Mr. Carl Monroe “Blue” Higgins, age 74, a resident of De Queen, AR died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at his home.

He was born April 19, 1935 in the Kellum Community in Sevier County. He was a self-employed diesel mechanic, a Mason, and served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Higgins was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl “Bill” and Ellan “Skeete” Anz Higgins.

He is survived by his wife, Wynona Rule Higgins; a son, Carl Higgins; and a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Chris Hunter, all of DeQueen; his grandchildren, Carl and Nicole Hunter, Brandy and Clay Ingram, Jake Higgins, Michael Higgins and Shane Higgins; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darrell Higgins and Dalton Higgins, both of De Queen; four sisters, Jane Sims of De Queen, Geraldine Branson of Eagletown, OK, Brenda McDonald and Polly Sullivan, both of De Queen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Higgins will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Millcreek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the funeral home.

Nancy E. Tugman Sullivan

Mrs. Nancy E. Tugman Sullivan, age 58, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, November 01, 2009, at her home.
She was born to Zane and Lottie Mae Collins Tugman at San Francisco, California, on June 14, 1951. She was a former florist, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of Geneva Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed crafts, flowers, sewing, and yard work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Gary and Zane Tugman, Jr., a sister, Maria DeCosta, and in December of 2008, her husband, Kerry Sullivan. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carie Elizabeth and Scott Maroon of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, Re` Daneen and Jerry Wilson of Katy, Texas, one brother, Joseph Tugman of De Queen, two sisters, Elizabeth Stiegler and Judy Downey both of Garden Grove, California, three grandchildren, Abigail Louise Maroon and Brody Anderson Maroon both of Murfreesboro, and Jared Andrew Wilson of Katy, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Sullivan are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, and will be held on Wednesday, November 4th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robby Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Jimmie Homer Frachiseur

Mr. Jimmie Homer Frachiseur, age 82, a resident of Grannis, AR died Thursday, October 29, 2009 in the V.A. Medical Center in Little Rock.

He was born August 3, 1927 in Grannis. He was a retired manager for Tyson Foods, was a U.S. Army veteran during WWII, and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

Mr. Frachiseur was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Frachiseur on December 5, 2007; his parents, Jim and Anner Maddox Frachiseur; a grandson, B.J. Russell, and five brothers.

He is survived by his children, Kerry Frachiseur of Grannis, Belinda McKenzie and her husband Alvin of Grannis, Jane Farley and her husband Ronald of Gillham, AR and George Frachiseur and his wife Maryann of Grannis; two brothers, Bob Frachiseur and Abe Frachiseur, both of Grannis; seven grandchildren, Jimmie McKenzie, Homer Frachiseur, Ann Dinkins, Renee Morrow, Jamie Powell, Tiffany Frachiseur and Jennifer Farley; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Frachiseur will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Grannis with Revs. George Frachiseur, Homer Frachiseur and Dale Hankins officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Grove Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Winnie Ruth Reid Blackmon

Mrs. Winnie Ruth Reid Blackmon, age 80, a resident of Grannis, died Friday, October 30, 2009 in Dierks.

She was born September 14, 1929 in Sanco, Texas. She was a homemaker and mother most of her life. She helped raise chickens for Lane’s and then for Tyson Foods. She was a faithful member of the Grannis United Pentecostal Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, secretary and song leader from the time the church was built in 1974 until she could no longer fill the job because of her debilitating condition in 2004.

Mrs. Blackmon was preceded in death by her parents, Eele and Imelda Reid; one son, Pete Blackmon, one granddaughter, Sandra Hale Blackmon, one great-grandson, Sylas Mason, one sister, Rena Frachiseur and one brother, Leroy Reid.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lynn C. Blackmon of Brookewood Nursing Home in De Queen; three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Brenda Blackmon of Dardenell, Arkansas, Daniel and Avis Blackmon of Holly Creek, Oklahoma, and Darrell and Shirley Blackmon of Dierks, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Theron Bledsoe Sr. of Grannis, Arkansas; two sisters, Elaine Norvell of Robert Lee, Texas and Pauline Thomas of Grannis; one brother, Isaac Reid also of Grannis; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Blackmon will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in the Grannis United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Logan Blackmon and Rev. Charles Herring officiating. Burial will follow in the Grannis Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3rd at the funeral home.

Jesse Robert "Sonny" Green

Mr. Jesse Robert "Sonny" Green, age 64, a resident of Martinez, Ca. passed into the arms of God on Monday, October 12, 2009 in Walnut Creek, Ca. Died after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born July 16, 1945 in Nashville Ar. to Thurman and Ida Green. He attended De Queen schools and served in the US Air Force, after which he was employed with Shell Oil Co. in Martinez, Ca. for 37 years.

Jesse was a loving husband, dedicated father and devoted friend. He is survived by his wife Janie Green of Martinez, Ca ; son Tavean ( Lavonna ) of Oakley, CA ; stepdaughter Tracy (Aaron) Thomas of Fairfield, Ca; grandchildren Ryan, Kaitlin, and Colin Green of Oakley CA; Nathan Cacioppo, Brandon and Cameron Thomas of Fairfield, Ca. sisters Sue Nelson and Nora Cunningham of De Queen, Ar. nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Ida Green ; sister Sonia Hankins; brother, Larry Green, nephew Gary Hankins and niece Lisa Olalde.

Funeral services were held, Friday, Oct 16, at 1:00 P.M. at Oak Park Christian Center in Pleasant Hill, Ca.

A Memorial Service for Jesse " Sonny " Green will be held in De Queen in November for friends and relatives here.
