Mrs. Hazel Clair Williamson
Mrs. Hazel Clair Williamson, age 90, a resident of Amity, Arkansas, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 in the Howard Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.
She was born January 26, 1917 in Lafayette, Texas to John C. and Martha Lou Hill Miller. She work for Lane Poultry and was a Baptist.
Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Williamson on May 13, 1976 and her daughter, Sarah Thompson.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Jake and Lila Miller of De Queen; two grandchildren, Jeanie Burns and James Blevins; 2 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial Service for Mrs. Williamson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, 2007 in the Grannis Cemetery.
Mrs. Lillian Russell Golightly
Lillian Russell Golightly, age 73, a resident of Mabelvale, Arkansas died Sunday, September 30, 2007 in Mabelvale, Arkansas.
She was born September 9, 1934 in Foreman, Arkansas to Jessie and Myrtle Lee Kates Russell. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. Golightly is survived by two sons, Ronald Keith Guthrie of Mabelvale and Jason Dewayne Golightly of Marietta, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Charles Chambers of Jefferson, Texas and Sheila and Freddie Hayden of Quitman, Texas; one brother, Jessie Russell, Jr. of Foreman; two sisters, Bessie Higginbotham of Ashdown and Marie Oglesby of Foreman; seven grandchildren with one on the way; 1 great-grandchildren and loving caregiver, Tambra Knight.
Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Golightly will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007 in the Marvin Cemetery
in Foreman, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will be at the home of Dale and Marie Oglesby, 4491 Hwy 234 in Foreman.

Mrs. Reba Jean Gentry, age 73, of Grannis, passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 in Texarkana, Texas
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Oak Grove Cemetery
in Wickes, Arkansas. At 2:00 p.m. with brother David Jacobs officiating. Family and friend visitation will be Monday, October 1, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Beasley-Wood Chapel in Mena.
Mrs. Elfreda Margaret Tietze Patterson
Elfreda Margaret Tietze Patterson, age 89, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
She was born on June 12, 1918 at Houston, Texas to Henry and Anna Keene Tietze. Mrs. Patterson was retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Meredith Patterson, Sr. in 1988 and a brother, Henry Tietze, Jr.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Rodney Meredith Patterson, Jr. and his wife Judy of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Dennis Wayne and Joanie Patterson of DeQueen, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Michael Patterson, Lori Dodson, Brad Patterson and Ginger Marshall; Eight great-grandchildren; one niece Karen Neeley; one nephew, Larry Tietze

in DeQueen with Rev. Rodney Patterson, Jr. officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of DeQueen.

Mr. James Walker
Mr. James Terry Walker, age 58, resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Monday, September 24, 2007 from injuries received in a truck accident near Carthage, Texas.
He was born to Allen Parks and Georgia Louise Arbuckle Walker in Dallas County, Texas on May 22, 1949. He was a veteran of the Vietname War, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a truck driver for Hatfield Lumber Company, Hatfield, Arkansas. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Wickes, and enjoyed Civil War Reenactments, antique tractors, fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Gwen Lyle Walker of Grannis, two sons, Manuel Walker of Lexington, Nebraska, and James Brian Walker of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter and son-in-law, Apryl and Rick Stienbaugh of Tyler, Texas, two brothers, Allen Walker of Euless, Texas, and Jerry Walker of Kyle, Texas, two sisters, Shirley Vest of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Judy Stone of Flower Mount, Texas, three grandchildren, Danielle Grace Walker of Malvern, Ark; Colton Allen Stienbaugh and Remington Michelle Stienbaugh both of Tyler; Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2007 in the Wickes United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 28th.

Mrs. Dorothy Dimple Wright Cornett
Dorothy Dimple Wright Cornett, age 82, a resident of De Queen, AR died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at her daughters home in Plano, TX.
She was born October 25, 1924 in Clarksville, TX to James and Sallie Johnson Wright. She was a homemaker, worked in the family furniture business, was owner of the Wishing Well in DeQueen, and was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of DeQueen where she served on many committees.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Cornett in 1972.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Jeff Hannon of Plano, TX, and Debby and Lyndon Fenton of DeQueen; four grandchildren, Craig Hannon, Heather Hannon, Cody Fenton and Erin Williams; three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cornett will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel, DeQueen. Graveside funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery
in Clarksville, TX.
Mrs. Verlie Alice Wickens
Verlie Alice Wickens, age 84, a resident of Dierks, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in Little Rock.
She was born June 30, 1923 to Walker and Nellie (Smith) Gilbert. Mrs. Wickens was retired from Howard Manufacturing Company in Nashville, AR; she was a loving Christian wife, mother and grandparent. She loved cooking, canning, gardening, sewing, quilting and helping others. She will be missed by family and scores of friends in Dierks.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Coy C. Wickens. Her parents, one brother, Ira Gilbert and three sisters, Laura Friend, Nancy Graves and Bobby Spiess.
Mrs. Wickens is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Fred Fewell of North Little Rock; two granddaughters, Maria Wright (Joe) of Little Rock and Amy Keach (Richard) of North Beach, MD; three great-grandsons, Justin Wright, Alexander and Aidan Keach; five sisters and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Wickens will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24 in the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks, AR with Rev. Larry Allbritton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery
near Dierks, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Mrs. Juanita Evelyn Womack Dempsey Benson
Mrs. Juanita Evelyn Womack Dempsey Benson, age 85, resident of De Queen, died Friday, September 21, 2007 in the De Queen Medical Center.
She was born to Claude Andrew and Mable Foster Womack at Wright City, Oklahoma, on May 18, 1922. She was a retired dietician as well as a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oral Kenneth Benson, two brothers, Claude Andrew Womack, Jr. and James Richard Womack, and a son, Richard Dempsey.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Gonzales of Arcadia, Calif. three grandchildren, Shane Dempsey of Gillham, Shana Dempsey of Redding, Kansas, and Morgan Dempsey of Lexington, North Carolina, three step-sons, John Benson of Encinitas, Calif., Gerald Benson of Frederick, Maryland, and Michael Benson of Redding, Calif. one step-daughter, Linda Elliott of Scottsdale, Arizona, and a number of other relatives.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Mr. Bobby Ferguson
Mr. Bobby John Ferguson, age 60, a resident of Horatio, Ark., died Monday, September 17th in the De Queen Medical Center.
He was born to Robert and Ona Borden Ferguson at Dallas, Texas, on January 27, 1947. He was a retired car salesman, and was a Baptist. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, flea marketing, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Syble E. Beck Ferguson of Horatio, two sons, Tommy Ray Ferguson of Erwin, North Carolina, and Bobby Joe Ferguson of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; one step-son, John Splane of Wickes, Ark.; two step-daughters, Ladonna McCoy of Horatio, Ark.; and Karen Roach of New Summerfield, Texas, one brother, Eugene White of Seagoville, Texas, two sisters, Irene Wiley of Benton, Arkansas, and Wanda White of Benton, Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
