JESSIE HOLT GLOVER

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Jessie Holt Glover, 76, of 110 Swain St., will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary chapel with the Rev. B.E. McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Kelly Springs Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Glover died June 20 at Citizens BMC. She was a member of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, George Esters Holt and Jenise Ann Peeples; eight brothers; two sisters; and a son, David James Holt.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Holt Peyton of Hineston, La., and Clairee Holt and Coretta Holt; sister, Gladys H. Clay of Gadsden; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Donald Williams, Fredric Holt, Earnest Holt Jr., Timothy Bethune, Ronald Jemison and Ronald Bibb.

Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

BOBBY JENKINS SR.

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Bobby Jenkins Sr., 62, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary chapel with the Rev. Troy Chatman officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins died June 18 at his residence. He was a former employee of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind and was director of the Westgate Community Center. He was also a gospel musician who performed at various churches in Talladega County.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Patterson Jenkins; three daughters, Carolyn Ellis of Anniston, Samantha Jenkins of Augusta, Ga., and Barbara S. Grant of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Bobby Jenkins Jr. of Talladega; two sisters, Mary E. Jenkins of Munford and Inez Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; three brothers, Arthur Jenkins of Birmingham, Jeremiah Jenkins of Hepzibah, Ga., and Larry Jenkins of Munford; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John, Curtis and Willie Patterson, Larry Jenkins, Preston Shelborne and LaBryian Funderburg.

Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

CECIL EUGENE KEARLEY

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Cecil Eugene Kearley, 87, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Talladega Church of Christ with Travis Connor, James Rodgers and Craig Hallman officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens in Talladega.

Mr. Kearley died June 22 at Citizens BMC. He was a native of Powderly and lived in Talladega for the past 72 years. He was a member of Talladega Church of Christ, where he had served as a elder for 26 years and taught Bible class for 52 years. He was owner and operator of Kearley Amoco for many years. He was an amateur pilot and a pioneer in the stock car racing industry. He was known to many for his peanut parching on Battle Street. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie L. Kearley; two sisters, Cleo Britton and Sylvia Kearley; and two brothers, Edwin Kearley and Furman Kearley.

He is survived by a daughter, Kay Selby of Talladega; sons, Wayne E. Kearley of Talladega, Charles Kearley of Alpine and Dan Kearley of Pell City; brothers, Joe Kearley of Pleasant Grove and James Ausban Kearley of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Scott Kearley, Gene Kearley, Jacob Kearley, Stephen Kearley, Britt Parker, Jeremey Sexton, Ricky Wilson and Jackie Parrott.

Deacons and elders of Talladega Church of Christ, Kermit Fields and Ferrell Moore will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

LOIS GASTON SUTTLE

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Lois Gaston Suttle, 68, of 525 West St. N., will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Faith Temple Ministries in Talladega with Pastor Lavelle Smith officiating. Burial will be in Talladega Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Suttle died June 19 at Citizens BMC.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Suttle; sons, Oliver Gaston, James M. Gaston, Willie R. Suttle, Leroy Suttle, Travis Suttle, David Suttle and Field Suttle; daughters, Lois J. Henderson, Carolyn S. Brockington, Cynthia S. Baker and Teresa S. Garrett; sister, Velma G. Truss; brother, Ronnie Gaston; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Sims Funeral Service will direct the service.

WILLIE PAULINE ARMSTRONG

LEEDS — Funeral service for Willie Pauline Armstrong, 66, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Leeds First Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Francis Batson officiating. Burial will be in Dunnavant Faith Baptist Cemetery in Dunnavant.

Mrs. Armstrong died June 21. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ethel Batson of Leeds and Kathryn Tucker of Pell City.

She is survived by her husband, R.J. Armstrong of Leeds; daughters, Sandra Stewart of Pell City, Donna Macon of Pell City and Angela Callahan of Pell City; sons, Johnny Armstrong of Leeds and Robert Armstrong of Pell City; brothers, Thomas Batson of Moody, James Batson of Odenville and Sylvester Batson of Margaret; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be George Pate, Steven Macon, Keith Macon, Jonathan Macon, Thomas Batson and Chris Callahan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Stewart and Johnny Armstrong.

Usrey-Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

EVA L. BARCLAY

TALLADEGA — Eva L. Barclay, 92, of 2656 Old Shocco Road, died June 22 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary.

BRUCE COX

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Bruce Cox, 64, was Monday at Usrey-Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City with Brother Roberto Rodriguez and Brother Jeff Bright officiating. Burial was in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Cox died June 21 at his residence. He was a native of Louisiana and spent the past 15 years in St. Clair County.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Cox; daughter, Carla Denise Harris of Hoover; son, Donald Bruce Cox Jr. of Jemison; sister, Lorene Shaffer of Swansea, S.C.; brothers, Horace Cox of Sarepta, La., and Douglas Cox of McGhee, Ark.; and one grandchild, Jana Lee Harris.

Pallbearers were Leon Nix, John Landerfelt, Allen Manning, James Seigler, James Seigler Jr. and Ricky Coats.

Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Manning.

Usrey-Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.

MARVIN S. FRANKLIN

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Marvin S. Franklin, 89, was Sunday at West End Church of God with the Rev. Ottis Graves officiating. Burial was in Blue Eye Cemetery in Lincoln.

Mr. Franklin died June 20 at his residence. He was a native of St. Clair County and had lived most of his life in Talladega County. He was retired from Bemiston Mills and was a member of West End Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Franklin of Talladega; daughters, Linda Griffith and husband Carl of Munford and Brenda Bates of Talladega; sons, David Franklin and wife Kay of Talladega, James Franklin of Birmingham, Dean Franklin and wife Mary of Sycamore, Carlton Franklin and wife Susie of Talladega and Larry Franklin and wife Shelia of Arizona; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were David L. Franklin, Wayne Smith, Tommy Smith, Billy Smith, Lee Mathis and Jeremy Hodge.

Talladega Funeral Home directed the service.

JERRY DALE GALLUPS

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Jerry Dale Gallups, 55, will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Don Phillips and the Rev. Paul Lett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Gallups died June 22. He was born in Pell City and was a 1965 graduate of Pell City High School. He attended Samford University following high school and graduated in 1969 with a bachelor of arts degree. He then attended Woodrow Wilson College of Law and received a degree of Juris Doctorate in Law. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle I. Gallups, and a brother, Bobby Wayne Gallups.

He is survived by his mother, Gertrude Barber of Pell City; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Keith Donahoo, Ben Donahoo, Alex Jones, Jacob Jones, Jimmy Jones, Greg Graham, Michael Richey and Alex Seales.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

WALLIS HARVEY JR.

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Wallis Harvey Jr., 26, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Alford officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.

Mr. Harvey died June 18 at Coosa Valley BMC.

He is survived by his mother, Mary E. Harvey of Sylacauga; father, Wallis Harvey Sr. of Sylacauga; stepmother, Eva Harvey of Sylacauga; brother, Malcolm Harvey of Sylacauga and sisters, Tammy E. Harvey and Kristie L. Harvey of Sylacauga.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Madden's Funeral Service will direct the service.

RANDY LEE HIGGINS

LINEVILLE — Funeral service for Randy Lee Higgins, 52, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Christianna Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve White, the Rev. Bob Bain and the Rev. Ronnie Key officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Higgins died June 21 in Randolph County. He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County and was formerly employed with Hoover Haynes Rubber Company in Tallapoosa, Ga. He was a member, deacon, Sunday school teacher and assistant song leader at Christianna Baptist Church in Randolph County.

He is survived by his fiance', JoAnn Smith of Delta; daughter, Miranda Jordan of Delta; sons, Joey Higgins of Delta and Christian Higgins of Lineville; his mother, Mary Glen Higgins of Lineville; sisters, Patricia Johnson and Patsy Phillips of Lineville and Rita Adams of Delta; brothers, Jimmy Higgins and Kenneth Higgins of Lineville; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Taylor, Jerry Smith, J.J, Jordan, Gerald Higgins, Herbert Higgins, Gary Higgins, Tim Sprayberry and Larry Erwin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Rorrer, Price White, Joel Don Taylor and Howard Welch.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville will direct the service.
