CHERRY, Elzora McGough Smith our loving and loyal mother was called home by her Lord November 11, 2011. She was born March 18, 1922 in Honoraville, Crenshaw County, Alabama, and was predeceased by her parents, Robert Marion McGough and Virgie Thomas McGough, her brother Ray McGough, her son James Robert Smith, one grand daughter, one grandson, and one daughter-in-law. She is survived by three sons and three daughters- Lois Richardson (Rich)- Yorktown, Virginia, - Ed Smith and Bobby Smith of Montgomery; Harriet Smith- Suffolk, Virginia, Arlin Smith (Cindy) of Prattville and Dorothy Singleton (Ronnie)- Montgomery; her sister, Elna Grace Rowell-Montgomery and her brother, Rex Ervin McGough- Greenville, Alabama. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends. Elzora, a devoted country music fan, rarely heard a blue grass tune that didn't set her toes to tapping. She resided in Montgomery and Prattville for the past 50 years. Her faith and her friendly nature brought her a lifetime of devoted friends. Her attention to birthdays and holidays always brought surprise and delight to friends and family. Our lives were brightened by her love and attention and she will be greatly missed and long remembered by all. God saw her getting tired, a cure not meant to be, so He wrapped His arms around her and whispered "Come with me." Visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 6pm - 8pm and the funeral will be held on Tuesday at 1pm, with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. PATTON, Alyce W., age 51 of Wilsonville, Alabama, departed this life peacefully with her family at her side at her residence in Montgomery, Alabama on November 6, 2011. Before battling her fight with breast cancer, Alyce was a loving mother, friend, and inspirational mentor to all she met. She had a zest for life and never let her disease conquer her princess like spirit. As a supporter of everything pink, Alyce was an engaged member of Women of Hope and active supporter of Joy To Life Foundation. Alyce believed hope is the assurance that one day we will be able to live cancer free! She will be joining her parents: Charles W. Weldon Sr. and Marella "Dean" Weldon, and brothers: Robert P. Weldon, and Charles W. Weldon Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories: son, James Patton II; step sons, Lewis Warren and Jarrett Warren; brothers, John A. Weldon and David D. Weldon; niece, Rachelle R. Weldon; and nephew Charles W. Weldon III; Loving pet and companion of 13 years: Rosco "Waddie" Banbino. She invites all who knew her to celebrate her life at a memorial service at Frazer United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, Thursday, November 17th, 2011 at 2:pm; with Pastor Norman Dunlap officiating. FRALIC, Edward L. "Boots", 80, went to be with our Lord on November 8, 2011. He was the loving father of Mac (Annette) and grandfather of Joseph, Louie and Katie. Boots is survived by his sisters, Toni Freeman and Bennie Wallace and many adoring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward A. And Vera Jewel Fralic and his brother Austin. Edward was a disabled veteran of the Korean War, member of the IBEW and long time member of Vaughn Park Church of Christ. His Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 12th at 2:00 pm at Southern Memorial. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Holmes is preceded in death by her husband James F. "Slick" Holmes, her parents and five siblings. Survivors include three sons, Mike(Shirley) Holmes, Wetumpka, AL, Steve(Cindy) Holmes, Glenwood, AL, Jeff(Thom) Holmes, Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Jyll(Doug) Holmes Bross, R. Michael(Sarah) Holmes, Jessica(Chris) Holmes Jordan, and Sumpter Holmes; five great grandchildren, Allyson & Clayton Bross, Jameson & Sawyer Holmes and Jacob Jordan. Pallbearers will be Richard Holmes, Tony Holmes, Mike Mount, Jack Martin, Joe Martin, Terry Mount, James Gibson, and Paul Gibson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm.

PALMER, Nancy Louise age 92, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama expired Sunday, November 6, 2011 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 1:00 pm from New Life Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Thomas, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at Eastwood Memorial Gardens with E. G. Cummings Memorial Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral on the day of service.

STAFFORD, Marie

STAFFORD, Marie, born on September 30, 1929 and raised in Tallassee, Alabama, passed away on November 9, 2011 after a brief illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James W. Stafford: children, Warren (Alice); Mark (Kelly); Lisa Stafford and Stephanie Ledbetter. Her son David preceded her in death. Marie leaves behind numerous beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Marie satisfied her adventurous spirit by traveling the globe during her husband's 25 year distinguished Air Force career. While building her family, Marie lived in 14 homes, in six states and Japan. After Stafford retired she continued to travel as a sponsor for many high school trips across America. Marie valued education as the pathway to success. Raising five children, she earned her B.A. at Huntingdon College in 1968 while her husband served in the Vietnam War. Marie went on to earn her Masters degree and AA certification while teaching high school math at Lanier High School and Auburn University in Montgomery. Marie invested herself in Montgomery by serving in numerous civic organizations including but not limited to the Exchange Club, Huntingdon College's Alumni Board and the Republican Women's Society. Additionally, she was committed to spreading the Gospel and supported many missionaries in their work. When Marie became homebound, she cherished her visits by the members and staff of Dalraida Baptist Church and Evangel Temple. She had read through the entire Bible annually for over twenty-five years. Countless friends, many of whom she called each morning for the past forty years, cherished sharing crosswords and crypto-quotes. Family will receive friends at 1PM Friday, November 11, at Alabama Heritage with a 2PM service to follow in the chapel. Alabama Heritage Directing

RATCLIFF, Elizabeth Frances, age 93, passed away at Crowne Healthcare on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Mrs. Ratcliff was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert Wallace and Marion Jackson Ratcliff. She is survived by two daughters, Roberta Osborne, Ann (Irvin) Watkins; one brother, William Compton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a very special sister-in-law, Maxine Compton. Mrs. Ratcliff was the oldest member of Cloverdale Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Robinson served as Deacon and Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School at St. Mark Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran Airman First Class. He retired from New York Power Authority, White Plains, New York. His memory lives on with a devoted and loving wife who loved him dearly, Lucinda P. Robinson; two daughters, Palicia Sanders and Cynthia Robinson of Brooklyn, NY; one step-daughter, Kimberly J. (Darryl) Pickett, Montgomery, AL; one grandson and two step-grandsons, Murray Sanders, Jr., Brooklyn, NY, Christian D. Reese and Drew O. Pickett, Montgomery, AL; three granddaughters, Tanisha Lily, Thailyn Croslant and Taniece McSadden, all of Brooklyn, NY; two great granddaughters, Malayah Sanders and Mankic Croslant of Brooklyn, NY; he was also blessed with a special extended family, Felecia Hawkins, Jolanda Blackshear, Lottie Adair and family.
