KINOY, Arthur, a friend of Montgomery’s Movement known as the “people’s lawyer“, passed on September 19, 2003 in his home in Montclair, New Jersey. Kinoy served as co-counsel with Montgomery Attorney Charles Conley for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the 1955-56 Montgomery Bus Boycott Movement. She is survived by two daughters Betty Jane Jones of Atlanta, Ga., and Marjorie Alice Harris of Montgomery, Al., step daughter Johnnie Bartelson of Defiance, OH., one son Raymond A. Petty of Yorba Linda, Ca., fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Andrew Harris, Wayne Harris, and other grandsons.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Capitol Heights Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at leak Memory on Tuesday.
