Frankie Jo Friend, 47, of Georgiana, AL, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Chapel services will be held Friday, April 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Watson Wasden officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery, with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home Directing. Family will receive friends Thursday, April 10, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Mrs. Friend is preceded in death by son, Cody Friend and granddaughter, Brittany Friend. Mrs. Friend is survived by husband, William Dale Friend of Georgiana, AL; daughter, Melissa Friend of Eclectic, AL; four grandchildren; sister, Debbie (Phil) Flynn of Irvin, KY; several nieces and nephews.

Gloria J. Kaney
Gloria J. Kaney, 58, of Aiken, S.C., died March 30, 2008 while vacationing with family in Jacksonville, Fla. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 3 p.m. at George Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue SW in Aiken.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name may be made to the American Heart Association, 520 Gervaise St., Suite 300, Columbia SC 29201.
Gloria was born and lived most of her life in Greenville. She attended Greenville High School in the mid 1960s. She moved with her family to Aiken in 1986. Gloria was a 17-year employee at the Aiken Wal-Mart who enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Kaney. She is survived by: her daughter, Natasha Blackburn of Aiken; Belinda “Samm” Dorn and her husband, Brad, of Florence, S.C.; brothers, Robert Maples and his wife Clair of Washington State, Herbert Maples and his wife Mable of Missouri and granddaughter, Victoria Walton, many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn Ferriestine Gibson
Evelyn Ferriestine Gibson, 83 of Fort Deposit, AL, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 4, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Antioch East Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronnie Boulware officiating.
Burial followed in Mt Moriah Cemetery, with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
Visitation was held Thursday, April 3, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by husband, Milton M. Gibson of Ft. Deposit, AL; son, Ronald (Peggy) Gibson of Ft. Deposit, AL; daughters, Mary Dianne (Lionel) Lowe of Lemberton, MS, Ella Carrol Groebner of Ft. Deposit, AL, Angelia Margaret (Kerry) Lunsford of Ackworth, GA; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Stella Cowart of Greenville, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Antioch East Baptist Church Building Fund.
Patricia 'Pat' B. Stephens
Patricia "Pat" Brown Stephens, 73, a resident of Montgomery and a native of Greenville, died Thursday, March 27, 2008. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, March 30th at 2 p.m. from Leak-Memory Chapel with Dr. Mike Cassity officiating with burial following in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents, Jabres Noble "Foots" Brown and Mattie Lou Holder Brown. She was a member of the Greenville High School Class of 1952.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Charles D. Stephens, three daughters; Gail S. Purser (Chip) of Hoover, Peggy S. Dendy (Sam) and Pam S. Loveless of Montgomery; sister, Kathi B. Clark of Deatsville; two brothers, Noble Brown of Millbrook and George Brown of Equality; four grandchildren; Cindy Patterson (Brian) Helena, Jennifer Sims, Abby Loveless and Kristen Loveless, all of Montgomery; and great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Patterson of Helena.
Pallbearers were her nephews David Rodgers, Trevitte Brown, William Clark, Nicky Brown, Chase Brown, Michael Clay and Steven Davis. Honorary

Anna Lois Hanks Miller
Anna Lois Hanks Miller, a resident of Monroe County and more recently of Mobile, died peacefully on March 24, 2008 surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Tolbert Miller; two sons, James Edward Miller and Ollie Benjamin Miller. She is survived by one son, Bruce Everett (Carolyn) Miller; two daughters, Dorothy M. England and Jewel (Tony) Duthu; daughters-in-law, Johnnie Faye Miller and Mary Agnes Miller; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, and many beloved great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana. Visitation is Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27 from Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville.
Barbara Bell Tole Luckie
Barbara Bell Tole Luckie died on March 18, 2008 at Bethany House in Auburn after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel in Montgomery.
Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation was from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel.
Mrs. Luckie was born in Payneburn, Arkansas on March 8, 1935 to Hughie and Pearl Tole.
She was preceded in death by her brother, David Tole and mother, Pearl Tole.
She is survived by her father, Hughie Tole of Winfield, Kansas; husband, Johnnie Ray Luckie; and four sons, Anthony and Valerie Luckie of Opelika, John Wayne and Mable Luckie of Montgomery, Robert Luckie of Wetumpka, and Kenneth Luckie of Auburn; grandchildren, Nickolas and Alexandra, John Ross, Lauren and Lakin; brother, Howard and Karen Tole of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jim Tole and Terry Tole of Wichita, Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.
She married Johnny Ray Luckie on November 23, 1952. They traveled many years with John's military career of 28 years and retired in Montgomery until 2005 when Barbara and John relocated to Auburn. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Bethany House of Auburn.
John Alex Pitts
John Alex Pitts, died March 19, 2008 at a Georgiana hospital. Visitation was March 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Golden and the Rev. Theodore "Buddy" Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Evergreen. Pallbearers will be Son Pitts, Ronnie Pitts, Kenny Pits, Haywood Pitts, Larry Pitts, Edward Dees and Blair Coker. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Hollis, Dr. Jeffery Voreis, Dr. George Kitchens, Rob Williams, David Harvill and Steve Dunn.
Mr. Pitts was born August 28, 1923 in Conecuh County to William Thomas and Molly Berry Pitts. He was one of seven children and preceded in death by each of his siblings: Eva Dees, Leone Hall, Earline Stern, Tom E. Pitts, W.T. Pitts Jr. and Hagood Pitts. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy Coker Pitts, his two daughters, Mary Cathyrn Pitts of Georgiana and Marilyn Pitts Brannon and husband Jimmy of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren, Melissa Ruth Brannon of Tampa and Matthew Stephen Brannon of Colorado Springs, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pitts attended Lyeffion High School in Conecuh County but at age 16 joined the CCC Camp in Monroeville for two years. He was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II where he served as a jump master and engineer on a C47. After the war, he had a career in forestry in Selma, owned a timber dealership and operated a sawmill. John had a love for restoring antique cars and was noted for his beautiful rose garden. He was a member of the Georgiana United Methodist Church.
Leon Faulk Jr.
Mr. Leon Faulk Jr. 26, a resident of Rutledge, died March 20, 2008. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Centenary Assembly of God with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating and Harrison Funeral Home directing. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Faulk is survived by his mother, Mrs. Linda Faulk, Troy; three sisters, Wendy Faulk, Rutledge, Lacey Faulk, Goshen,and Kelly Faulk, Elba.; two brothers, Kevin Faulk, Elba and Christopher Faulk, Rutledge; grandmother Frances Black, Rutledge and grandfather, Edward Earl Nichols, Montgomery. Mr. Faulk was preceeded in death by his father Leon Faulk, Sr.

Donald Wayne Sanford, 50, a resident of Mobile, died Saturday, March 15, 2008. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 from the New Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Morris officiating. Burial in church cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directing. Survivors include: wife, Rose Conway Sanford of Mobile; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Heather Sanford of Smackover, Ark., Patrick and Miranda Sanford of Mobile, Robert Sanford of Mobile and J.W. Sanford of Dothan; daughters, Paula Woodruff of Smackover and Cheryl Strickland of Enterprise; mother, Margaret Sanford Owens of Mobile; sisters, Sharon Berry of Watauga, Texas; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two nephews and a niece.

Annie Mae Brown, 89, a resident of Greenville, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 from the chapel of Harrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Stephenson officiating and Harrison Funeral Home of Greenville directing. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, J.W. Brown and her son Johnny Mack Brown, both of Greenville, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donald Ray Greene Sr.
Donald Ray Greene Sr., 57, a resident of Prattville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 13, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from the chapel of Prattville Memory Gardens at Prattville Memorial Chapel. Mr. Greene served his country for over 20 years in the United States Air Force and was a dedicated member of the East Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.D. and Fannie Greene and one brother, Pete Greene. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 38 years, Pat Greene; one daughter, Cristy (Mark) Andrews; one son, Donald (Betty) Greene Jr.; three grandchildren, Tripp Greene, Megan Andrews and John Mark Andrews; one sister, Shirley Killough; three brothers, Bill (Dot) Greene, Russell (Maxine) Greene and Danny (Becky) Greene, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be the United States Air Force Honor Guard. FREEMAN, Jeanette M., died Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at her residence. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 31, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. from Leak-Memory Chapel with Minister George Vinson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband, William Freeman, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Debra F. Thompson; three sons, Robert L. Vogel, Sr., Thomas M. Vogel (Hazel) and E. Timothy Freeman (Summer); eight grandchildren, Robert L. Vogel, Jr., Shelley Faulkner, Robert Scott Vogel, Lynn Hanners, Christy Spivey, Zachary Thompson, Amanda Vogel and Hayden Freeman and 11 great-grandchildren. Her special friend and Doctor, Mark Lindsey. Mrs. Freeman was a resident of Montgomery for over 50 years. She was a member of North Lowndes Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be S.
