The funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home chapel with Burial in Poplar Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Eddie Lockhart will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home is directing.

She was mother to few, "Granny" to all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruble Bagwell and extended son-in-law, Marvin Duncan.
She is survived by her son, Henry Bagwell and his wife, Myra; daughter, Mary Ann Robinson and her husband, Ronald; sisters-in-law, Sally Bagwell and Maudine Beasly; grandchildren, Tommy Bagwell and his wife, Misty, Lisa Hogeland and her husband, Joe, and Michelle Whitlow and her husband, William; great-grandchildren, Katie and Janston Bagwell, Christina, Jacob and Kimberly Whitlow, Haley and Austin Hogeland; special friends, Buddy Balenger, Donnie Bryant, Georgia Duncan and Danny and Cindy Keaton; extended family members, Marlene and Raymond Balenger and family, Melissa and Donnie Bryant and family, Marvin and Nina Duncan and family, Marie and Eddie Lockhart and Margie and Bruce Russell and family; and several nieces and nephews.

James Mason
James Mason, 75, of Burkburnett, Texas, formerly of Townley, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Hospice in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Burkburnett with Burial in Burkburnett Cemetery. Revs. Lamoin Champ of Nocona, Texas, and Bill Ligett, pastor of First Baptist Church and grandson, pastor Chad Sykes will officiate. Owens & Brumley Funeral Home is directing.
He was former manager of Cicero Smith Lumber Company and a member of First Baptist Church of Burkburnett, Masonic Lodge 32 degree mason, Lions Club and Senior Citizens of Burkburnett Inc. He was a U.S. Air Corps SGT from 1946-1949.
He is survived by his wife, Mamie Mason of Burkburnett, Texas; son, Jimmy Mason and his wife, Glenda of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter, Jeannine Sykes of Burkburnett, Texas; sister, Johnnie Ruth Bradford of Jasper; brothers, Douglas Smith of Magnolia, Texas, and M.B. Smith of Jasper; four grandchildren, Chad Sykes, Kellie Mason, Derek Sykes and Jayme Sykes.

Minnie Irene Burnett, 90, of Cordova died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Cordova Health Care Center.

She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cordova.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Monroe Burnett; a son, James Wesley "Buddy" Burnett; her father, Doc Green Williams; her mother, Mattie Jones Williams; two brothers, Brady and Odie Williams; and three sisters, Bertha Ann Williams Freeman, Mamie Hester Williams Agee Parker and Effie Alma Williams Lawson.
She is survived by a daughter, Willie Faye Van Horn and her husband, Tommy, of Cordova; four sons, Jerry Daniel Burnett and his wife, Virginia, of Cordova, Terry Odie Truman Burnett and his wife, Dona, of Jasper, Sammy Joel Burnett of Birmingham, and Danny Michael Burnett and his wife, Susan, of Parrish; a daughter-in-law, Fay Burnett of Curry; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.

James A. "Al" Roberts, 74, of Hoover died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at his residence.

Mr. Roberts was the owner of Al Roberts Printing. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, The Club, and Birmingham Fraternal Council of Dance Clubs, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, C.W. Roberts Jr. and Emil Dewitt Roberts; brother-in-law, N.B. Gibson; and son-in-law, Ralph Edward Holmes.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eulene Roberts of Hoover; daughters, Cindy Holmes of Hoover and Gayle Sloan and her husband, Mark of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Brandon, Whitney and Meridith Holmes, all of Hoover and John Mark and Caroline Sloan of Nashville, Tenn.; and sister, Ivanell Gibson of Florence.

William Calvin Bailey, 70, of Carbon Hill died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Consult America Health Care Center in Carbon Hill.

Mrs. Edgil was a lifetime resident of Walker County. During her lifetime, she was employed by G. May & Sons, People's Hospital and J.C. Penney Co. She also owned and operated Ozark Restaurant in Ozark and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and the Eastern star.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ossie Thomas; mother, Bessie Thomas; and brothers, Milton Thomas and Adam Thomas.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lecil M. Edgil of Jasper; sons, Dennis Dorr and his wife, Linda of Williamsburg, Va., and Michael Lynn Harper and his fiance, Jean Singleton of Jasper; sister, Syble Sherer and her husband of Jasper; grandchildren, Ivy Denese Stephan and her husband of Virginia Beach, Va., Holly Leeann Lucas and her husband of Newport, Va., and Sarena Lauren Harper of Hoover; mother-in-law, Bessie F. Edgil of Jasper; and several nieces and nephews.

Hollis C. "Pete" Sherer, 85, of Jasper died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at the V.A. Hospital in Tuscaloosa.

She was born March 15, 1908 at Olcott, W.Va. She was a member of the Blackwater Macedonia Church of Christ and a former member of the Church of Christ in Prosperity, W.Va. where her husband served as an elder.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joel & Mary Whitlock; seven brothers; her husband, Willie S. Craddock; infant daughter, Mary E.; sons, William Garred Craddock (Korea), and John R. Craddock; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Craddock and his wife, Hattie of Coal City, W.Va.; daughter, Geraldine Steadman of Nauvoo; and special child, Joan Lynn Wattenbarger of Nauvoo; daughter-in-law, Betty Craddock of Jasper; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
