Rosalie Pennington Pribbenow

Rosalie Pennington Pribbenow, 86, of Jasper died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at the Shadescrest Health Care Center in Jasper.

Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church of Jasper Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at 3 p.m. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper. Rev. Richard Kellahan officiated. Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directed.

Mrs. Pribbenow was preceded in death by her husband, G.A. Pribbenow Sr.; and a son, G.A. Pribbenow Jr..

She is survived by a son, Jesse Marvin Pribbenow of Jasper; a daughter, Denise P. Bradford and her husband Walter of Wilsonville; daughter-in-law, Marion T. Pribbenow of Pell City; seven grandchildren; sister, Martha G. Pennington Hall; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Mike Putman, Rusty Richardson, Jack Nicholson, Sam Walker Murphy, Zack Rogers III and S. Marvin Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers were the Elders of the First Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requested that memorial donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Jasper Benevolent Fund.

Mrs. Ervil Brown Carr

Mrs. Ervil Brown Carr, 88, of Cordova died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004. She resided happily at Savannah Court in Jasper the last three years of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, in the Collins-Burke Chapel with Burial in the Union Chapel Cemetery. Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper will direct.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carr was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Cordova where she was active in the Golden Circle Sunday School Class as well as the Baptist Women. She was also a Worthy Matron of the Cordova Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Carr worked in the office of the Probate Judge of Walker County for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Arnold M. Carr; parents, Lucy R. and W. Porter Brown; brothers, Karl, Hoyt and Kenneth Brown; and sister, Aulene Brown Machen.

Mrs. Carr is survived by her nephew, Don L. Machen of Auburn; brother-in-law, Aubery J. Carr of Point Clear; and sister-in-law, Juanita Carr Bethea of Cordova.

In lieu of flowers it is respectfully suggested that memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cordova, 3919 Massachusetts Ave., Cordova, Ala. 35550.

Floyd Williams Woods

Floyd Williams Woods, 65, of Oakman died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, in the Collins-Burke Chapel with Burial in the Odom Memorial Cemetery in Parrish. Kenneth Wiggins will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper will direct.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 30, in the parlor at the funeral home.

Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his mother; father; and several siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Woods; two sons, Floyd Wayne Woods and Darryl Woods; two sisters, Dorothy Martin and Barbara Allred; five grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law, Rebecca Woods and Michelle Woods.

Pallbearers will be Kim Burke, Chris Woods, Darryl Woods, Stan Woods, Terry Woods and Wayne Woods.

Vessie Alma Phillips

Vessie Alma Phillips, 97, of Cordova died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at the Cordova Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, in the Collins-Burke Chapel with Burial in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cordova. Dale Jacks will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper will direct.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 30, in the parlor at the funeral home.

Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Phillips; son, Edward Phillips; two brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggie Puckett and Mary Borzelli; son, Jimmy Phillips; two grandchildren, Steve Valles and Eric Valles; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan Valles.

Doris B. Ingram

Doris B. Ingram, 76, of Adamsville died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at the home of her daughter.

Arrangements will be announced later by Bell Funeral Home in Sumiton.

Ruthy Berry

Mrs. Ruthy Berry, 77, of Jasper died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at her residence.

Arrangements will be announced later by Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper.

Charlie D. Chamblee

Mr. Charlie D. Chamblee, 92, of Carbon Hill died Sunday, Jan. 25, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at the Fern Springs Baptist Church near Eldridge with Burial in the adjoining cemetery. Revs. Steve Lawrence and C.R. Hood will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper will direct.

Mr. Chamblee was preceded in death by two wives, Ruby Walker Chamblee and Eddis Colburn Chamblee; son, Charles Chamblee; daughter, Elizabeth Peterson; two brothers, Lewis and Robert Chamblee; and two sisters, Della Alexander and Margaret Haynes.

He is survived by one daughter, Geneva Fowler of Dora; four sons, John Chamblee of Curry, Clarence Chamblee of Lynnville, Ind., George Rutledge of Hammond, Ind. and Gerald Rutledge of Highland, Ind.; one sister, Edna Walker of Quinton; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Hicen Suzette "Suzi" Rutkowski, 29, of Empire died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at her residence.

Willette Jones Alich

Willette Jones Alich, 73, of Jasper died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Alich.

She is survived by her daughter Paulette Sundberg and her husband, Kenneth; sisters, Brenda Cox, Wanda Lowe, Janie Lucas, Sharon Ford and Francis Blackney; brothers, Donald Madison, Leon Madison, Rayburn Madison, Gary Madison and Bruce Madison; grandchildren, Lisa Barker and her husband, William, and Taylor Barker; and great-grandchildren, Jessica McGough and Brittany McGough.

Jarrett Edwin Colburn

Jarrett Edwin Colburn, 2, of Carbon Hill died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at his residence.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Kansas Methodist Church in Kansas with Burial in Kelly Cemetery in Eldridge. Morris Helton and Dewayne Smith will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home is directing.

Albert Thomas Reece, 58, of Jasper died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at his residence.

The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home chapel with Burial in Smith Chapel Cemetery in Jasper. J.D. Dickerson will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home is directing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Reece; father, James "Jim" Reece; brothers, James Wesley Reece and Johnny Reece; and sisters, Elizabeth Reece and Evelyn Sims.

He is survived by his daughters, Laura Ann Reece and Veronica Reece Cooper; son, James Albert "Jimbo" Reece"; sisters, Joan Wadsworth, Joyce Wadsworth, Glenda Gaines and Ruth Dickerson and her husband, Gene; brother, Robert Elmer Reece and his wife, Gloria Kay; and four grandchildren.

Rev. Jack Dempsey Williams I, 82, of Jasper died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at his residence.

The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home chapel with Burial in Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper. Jackie Key and Wayne Williams will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home is directing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Stewart Williams; parents, Louis and Audrey Williams; and brother, Louis Williams Jr.

Joyce Sue Robertson, 69, of Jasper died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Baptist Medical Center-Walker in Jasper.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home chapel with Burial in Bennett Cemetery in Jasper. Collins-Burke Funeral Home is directing.

She is survived by her husband, Arlsteen Robertson of Jasper; mother, Maggie Glover of Liveoak, Fla.; daughter, Shirley Tomlinson of Fountain, Colo.; sisters, Joyce Ann Glover of Liveoak, Fla., and Janet Mitchell of Abbyville; and brothers, Elder Glover of Panama, Fla., and Danny Glover and Eddie Gaddy, both of Liveoak.

Olando Henry, 64, of Jasper died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at his residence.

He is survived by his daughter, Tonya Essord of Orange, N.J.; sons, Darryl Henry and Charles Lamont Henry, both of Oakman, Patrick Councis of Newark, N.J.; special grandson, Jamary Henry; sisters, Dorothy Cottrell of Birmingham and Sarah H. Farris and her husband, Lindberg of Jasper; and brothers, Howard Henry and James B. Henry, both of Chicago, Ill.

Thomas Hubert Kilgo

Thomas Hubert Kilgo, 83, of Moulton, formerly of Walker County, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 23, 2003, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home with Burial in Boldo Cemetery. Dr. Darryl Wood will officiate. Kilgore-Green Funeral Home is directing.

Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2 p.m. today, Dec. 23, 2003, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home.

Mr. Kilgo was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Moulton Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lorene Kilgo, and brothers, John H. Kilgo and Andrew Kilgo.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Kilgo of Moulton; son, Mark Kilgo of Moulton; sisters, Pauline Stewart and her husband, Virgil of Jasper, Louise Owen and her husband, Paul of Theodore, and Jeanette Tate of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Reba Smith Kilgo of Tuscaloosa; and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be members of Mr. Kilgo's Sunday school class. Honorary pallbearers will be special friends and neighbors.
