Mr. Canada was a native of Pike Co., Kentucky, a pharmaceutical salesman, an Air Force veteran, a member of the VFW Post # 2702 and a member of the American Indian Museum and Archeology Society. Survivors include his wife Janese Canada of Hazel Green, AL; 3 daughters: Brook Nicole Canada of Hazel Green, AL, Barbara Haley of Upland, IN, Michelle Jennings of Birmingham, AL; 4 grandchildren: Emma, Mollie, Coleman, Adara; 2 half-sisters: Gail Deskins of Lexington, KY, Barb Leavell of Cleveland, OH; 1 half-brother: James Roberts of Cleveland, OH. Visitation will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday before the service. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Indian Museum, 2003 Poole Dr., Huntsville, AL 35810, (256) 851-7241.

Mrs. Margaret Marie Weedman

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Marie Weedman, age 75, of Toney, AL, who died Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at West Side Health Care, will be held Friday, January 24, 2003 at the graveside in Madison Cross Roads Cemetery with Rev. Larry Fincher officiating. Mrs. Weedman was a native of Columbus, GA, a housewife and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include 1 daughter: Yolanda Weedman of Decatur, AL; 1 son: Ricky E. Weedman of toney, AL; 1 sister: Bernie Mae Cagle of Huntsville, AL; 2 brothers: Leroy Gibson, Claude Gibson both of Toney, AL; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Susan Elizabeth Milam

Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Elizabeth Milam, age 52, of Hazel Green, AL, who died Monday, January 27, 2003 at her residence, will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Meridianville with Dr. Tommy Bolan and Rev. Grady Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery. Mrs. Milam was a native of Madison County, daughter of Mrs. Wayne Elizabeth Patterson Milam Bates and the late Robert Clayton Milam, Sr., a receptionist for Madison Family Practice and a member of the First Baptist Church of Meridianville. Survivors include 3 daughters: Connie Tomlin Cowan, Amanda Rose Tomlin both of Hazel Green, AL, Stephanie Tomlin Bell of Toney, AL; grandchildren: Brennan Bell, Tanner Bell, Will Cowan; mother: Wayne Milam Bates of Huntsville, AL; 2 brothers: Robert C. Milam, Jr. of Hazel Green, AL, Randy D. Milam of Huntsville, AL. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. James H. Walker

Funeral services for Mr. James H. Walker, age 59, of Warner Robins, GA, who died Tuesday, January 28, 2003, will be held Sunday, February 2, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at Neeley Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Betterton officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery. Mr. Walker was a native of Sturgis, MI, and a well driller. He was preceded in death by 1 son: John H. Walker and his father: John H. Walker. Mr. Joiner was a native of Madison County, a pest control techinician, an Army veteran and a member of the Toney Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife: Linda Yeager Joiner of Hazel Green, AL; 2 daughters: Wendy R. Bennett of Hazel Green, AL, Beth Anne Hightower of Athens, AL; 1 son: Stephen C. Joiner, Jr. of Hawaii, 3 grandchildren: Ashley Buford, Adam Buford and Lauren Hightower; father: Thomas Joiner of Tyler, TX; mother: Susie Joiner Jennings of Huntsville, AL; 1 sister: Terri Carlton of Huntsville, AL; 2 brothers: Greg Jennings of Huntsville, AL, Mike Joiner of Tyler, TX. Mr. James Henry Simmons

Funeral services for Mr. James Henry Simmons, age 86, of Hazel Green, AL, who died Monday, February 3, 2003 at his residence, will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Toney Holiness Church with Rev. Charles Underwood and Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Mr. Simmons was a native of White County, TN, son of the late Buddy and Bessie Simmons, owner/operator of Simmons Hardware since 1965, elder member of the Toney Holiness Church. He was known for his honesty, integrity and willingness to help anyone who came along. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson: Eddie Arthur Simmons, Jr., 1 brother: Paul Simmons and 1 sister: Lizzie Drake.
