MRS. BOOKER
HUGULEY -- Mrs. Etheleen S. Booker, 67, of Huguley died Tuesday morning, Feb. 3, 2004 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Ala.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at Shawmut First Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Jimmy Blackman and Eugene Boyett officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett.
Mrs. Booker is survived by her husband, Clarence Booker; three sisters, Iry Smith of Huguley, Geneva Webb of West Point and Mary Hand of LaGrange; and two brothers, Luther Spraggins of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Joe Spraggins of West Point.
Born May 20, 1934 in Troup County, Ga., Mrs. Booker was a homemaker and had been a resident of the Huguley area for over 50 years. She was a member of Shawmut First Church of the Nazarene. She was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Harpe Spraggins and Johnnie Elmo Spraggins.

MR. BURKS
CAMP HILL, Ala. -- Mr. Vacher Burks, 89, of Camp Hill died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004 at Cambridge Place in Opelika, Ala.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5 at noon at New Canaan Baptist Church in Camp Hill with Pastor Paul Lawson Jr. and the Rev. C.L. Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Burks is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Burks; one daughter, Carolyn (the Rev. W.F.) Smith of Opelika; three grandchildren, Willie F. Smith Jr. of Smyrna, Ga., Monique (Jerome) Gadson of McDonough, Ga., and Minister Patrick (Johnelle) Smith of Detroit, Mich.; two great-grandchildren, Imani and Nia Gadson; one foster son, Michael Eason; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Born Oct. 31, 1914 in Talladega, Ala., Mr. Burks spent most of his adult life in Tallapoosa County. He was a well-known farmer in the community and worked for a number of years at Wilder's Nursing Home. Mr. Burks was an Army veteran of World War II. He was also a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Camp Hill.

MR. SHIVERS
ROSWELL, Ga. -- Mr. Robert Doss "Big Bob" Shivers, 55, of Roswell died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at his sister's house in Greenville, Ga.
A memorial musical service will be held Saturday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church of River View in Valley. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Valley. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 17 (Big Bob's 56th birthday) at 3 p.m. at the Southern Skillet Restaurant in Roswell.
Mr. Shivers is survived by two sisters, Lorene Kelley of Greenville and Elizabeth Baker of Auburn, Ala.; one brother, Coven Shivers of Montgomery, Ala.; several nieces and nephews, Joey and Carol Johnston of Manchester, Ga., Thomas Johnston of Greenville, Chuck Kelley and Leslie and Janet Baker Jr., all of LaGrange, Lea and Joe Leghorn of Sarasota, Fla., and Melanie Shivers of Birmingham, Ala.; several cousins, Marion Longshore, Doss Leak, Jewell Ann Christian, D.S. Leak III, J.G. Leak, Douglas Leak, Wesley Leak, Mary Alice Bledsoe, Bill, Bob and Marvin Leak; and a large number of great-nieces, great-nephews and loving friends.
Born March 17, 1948 in Troup County, Mr. Shivers was a real estate broker. He was the son of the late Henry Gladstone and Mamie Leak Shivers.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Mrs. Grayce Lamb Daniel, 86, of Huntsville died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at Carington Health Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church Chapel in Huntsville with Dr. David Hull officiating. Burial and graveside services will be Friday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. (EST) in Valley with the Rev. Steve York officiating.
Mrs. Daniel is survived by her sons, Michael Lamb of Nashville, Tenn., and Patrick Lamb of Pacifica, Calif.; three grandchildren, Corey Lamb of South San Francisco, Calif., Abby Lamb of San Francisco, Calif., and Scott Lamb of Pacifica; one great-grandson, Nathan Lamb; three sisters, Ruth Hicks of Valley, Hazel Blakely of Jackson, S.C., and Arlys Allen of Evans, Ga.; three step-children, Ouida Dickinson of Huntsville, the Rev. Homer C. Daniel Jr. of Arkansas City, Kan., and Scott Daniel of Decatur, Ala.; and five step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Daniel was a long time, active member of First Baptist Church of Huntsville. She worked at NASA as a contract specialist, and retired from federal service in 1978. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank W. Lamb and Homer C. Daniel Sr., both of Huntsville.

LANETT -- Mr. Charlie Monroe Fulghum, 86, of Lanett died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett with the Rev. Mike Hawkins and Father Marty McGeough officiating.
Mr. Fulghum is survived by one son, Phillip Fulghum of Lanett; three grandchildren, Rick (Cheryl) Fulghum of West Point, Chris Kirk of Lanett and Bethany Fulghum of Valley; three great-grandchildren, Jessica Fulghum, Sierra Kirk and Jordyn Fulghum; and three sisters, Daisey Hodge of Lanett, Mary Kate Hendricks of Valley and Alleen Patton of Montgomery, Ala.
Born Aug. 4, 1917 in Chambers County, Mr. Fulghum had been a member of the Lanett Masonic Lodge No. 656 F&M for over 50 years, and had been one of the founding members of Lanier Baptist Church. He retired from WestPoint Pepperell after 45 years of service with the company. Mr. Fulghum was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Nellie Fulghum. He was the son of the late Attie Moore Fulghum and Memory R. Fulghum Sr.

LAFAYETTE -- Mrs. Marie Lovelace, 84, of LaFayette died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003 at Bethany House in Auburn, Ala.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 11 a 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in LaFayette with the Revs. Wayne Barrett and Taylor Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lovelace is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Frank) Bonham of Gladwin, Mich., and Charlotte DeWeese of Opelika, Ala.; one son, Henry (Patsy) Lovelace of LaFayette; one brother, Wilbur High of Waverly, Ala.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Born Jan. 3, 1919 in Tallapoosa County, Ala., Mrs. Lovelace was retired from the old Playtex Plant in LaFayette and later retired from Tatum's Dry Goods. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sanders is survived by one son, Joe Milford (Vicki) Sanders of Camp Hill; one daughter, Ruth (Jimmy) Coggins of Camp Hill; two brothers, Charlie Burton of Camp Hill and Guy Burton of Lanett; four sisters, Annie Laurie Sanders of Alexander City, Ala., Ruby Drake of Auburn, Ala., Claude Isabell of LaFayette and Jimmie Parris of Rainbow city, Ala; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Born Aug. 3, 1911 in Tallapoosa County, Ala., Mrs. Sanders was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Tillers Cross Roads. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Malvin Buddy Sanders; her son, Malvin Lynn Sanders; and three brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Smith is survived by three daughters, Mary Langley of Valley, Phyllis Shurden of Lanett and Sharon LaCombe of Cusseta; one son, Wallace Smith of Maurepas, La.; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Born June 12, 1912 in Chambers County, Mrs. Smith was a retired employee of WestPoint Pepperell's Carter Mill. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney L. Smith, and her son, Norman Navaro Smith. She was the daughter of the late Berilla Turner Wood and James Wood.

Mr. Hood is survived by his wife, Dianne Pattillo Hood; four sons, Tim (Edith) Hood of Tampa, Fla., Mike (Niki) Hood of Fayetteville, N.C., Ben (Michelle) Hood of Ft. Polk, La., and Jeff Yawn of Sarasota, Fla.; two step-children, Aline (Jon) Hodge and Bryan Johnson, both of Valley; and nine grandchildren.
Born June 29, 1946 in Langdale, Mr. Hood was a veteran of the Vietname War, where he served with the U.S. Navy. He was an employee of the Interstate Telephone Co. Mr. Hood was a member of V.F.W. Post 1400. He was the son of the late Lera Langley Hood and Winston Ellis Hood.
