LaFAYETTE -- Mr. Travis Whitlow, 24, of LaFayette died Monday, June 7, 2004 at Bethany House in Auburn.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 11 at 2 p.m. CDT at True Deliverance Holiness Church with Bishop Nolan Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow at Handy Cemetery in LaFayette.
Mr. Whitlow is survived by his mother, Eloise Harrington of LaFayette; five brothers, Tony (Flora) Harrington, Jasper (Sherry) Harrington, Christopher Whitlow, Steven Harrington and Demetrius Harrington, all of LaFayette; and five sisters, Cynthia Ware, Jennifer Harrington, Temeka (Shawn) Smith and Lashonda Harrington, all of LaFayette, and Victoria Martin of Opelika.
Born August 7, 1979 in Chambers County, Mr. Whitlow was a member of True Deliverance Holiness Church in Auburn.

LaGRANGE -- Mr. Mark Edward Crenshaw, 56, of LaGrange died Friday, June 4, 2004 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
No services are scheduled at this time.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Crenshaw of LaGrange; two daughters, Brittany Brand and Amber Brand; one sister, Sandra Crenshaw; and two nephews, Chris Crenshaw and Jeffery Crenshaw.
Mr. Crenshaw was born in Valley March 27, 1948, the son of the late Tommy and Virginia Boyd Crenshaw. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and had lived in Troup County most of his life. He was a former janitor for the Troup County Board of Education.

WEST POINT -- Mrs. Janice Ruth "Jan" Harmon Vaughn of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Lanett, died Sunday, June 6, 2004 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.
Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday, June 9 at 2 p.m. at Lanett Congregational Christian Church with the Rev. Roy Bain officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her husband, Jimmy Vaughn of Marietta; one daughter, Alison Leigh (Mark) Puckett of Acworth, Ga.; one son, J. Eric (Jennifer) Vaughn of Acworth; two granddaughters, Ashlyn Amanda Puckett of Acworth and Syndey Alexandra Vaughn of Acworth; her mother, Annie Ruth Shaver Polk of Lanett, one brother, Donald (Sharon) Harmon of Lanett; and several nieces and nephews.
Born Feb. 28, 1948 in West Point, Mrs. Vaughn was the daughter of the late Jack Harmon, She was a graduate of Lanett High School and Opelika Vocational Technical School. Mrs. Vaughn was a mother and homemaker. She had been very active with her children and grandchildren when they were growing up. Mrs. Vaughn was a member of Lanett Congregational Christian Church.

WEST POINT -- The Rev. Wyatt B. King, 73, of West Point died Sunday, June 6, 2004 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Funeral services are scheduled Tuesday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at Reeds Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Chris King and Allen Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
The Rev. King is survived by his wife, Helen Parker King of West Point; one daughter, Diane King Bailey of Valley; one sister, Rozane King Green Chapman of Fairview, Mich.; and one brother, Kerry A. (Irene) King of LaGrange, Ga.
Born in Veal, Ga., Nov. 7, 1930, the Rev. King was the son of the late Lila Jo Willingham King and the late Ammon Andrew King. He was a graduate of Lanett High School and Perry Business School. The Rev. King served in the U.S. Army during the
Korean War. He was self-employed as a restorer of antique automobiles for 40 years, and he was pastor at Midway Baptist Church in Harris County for seven years. The Rev. King had worked at the former Cottles Auto Supply Store, and he had taught body work at Chambers County Vocational School. He was a member of Reeds Chapel Baptist Church in West Point.

LaFAYETTE -- Mrs. Willie Lee Briskey Kyles, 75, of LaFayette died at her residence Wednesday, June 2, 2004.
Funeral services are scheduled Monday, June 7 at 2 p.m. CDT at Whitehall Baptist Church in LaFayette with the Rev. Ed Vines officiating. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
Mrs. Kyles is survived by three sons, Ollie C. (Denise) Kyles, Otis (Iris) Kyles and Aaron (Janice) Kyles; one daughter Wyvonia Kyles; one brother, Auther Briskey; one sister, Hattie Mae Briskey; two special grandchildren, Timothy Lamar and Ashley Sheneat Kyles; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Born July 17, 1928 in Chambers County, Mrs. Kyles was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church.

BEULAH -- Mr. Robert C. Butler, 76, of Beulah died Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 5 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with Dr. Jerome King and the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Virginia Yates Butler; one daughter, Sherrell Butler Smith of Gadsden, Ala.; one son, Kris Butler of Beulah; five grandchildren, Ric Smith, Todd Smith, Kathryn S. Adams, Ashley Butler and Zaneta Daigle; four great-grandchildren, Michael Smith, Kelsey Smith, Annalea Andrews and Savannah Adams; and two sisters, Amy Shurett of Valley and Dot Woodard of Huguley.
Born Dec. 20, 1927 in Valley, Mr. Butler was the son of the late Jessie Pierce Butler and Charlie P. Butler. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS South Dakota. He retired from West Point Stevens in 1994 with more than 40 years of service with the company. In the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, Mr. Butler was a member of the Valley Rescue Squad where he was a scuba diver. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of the Shawmut volunteers in organization of the East Alabama Fire Department. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawmut. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Butler Jr.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chattahoochee Hospice in his memory.

LANETT -- Mrs. Pauline L. Clark, 86, of Lanett died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Columbus, Ga.
Funeral services are scheduled Saturday, June 5 at 4 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with the Rev. Mike Brooks and Mr. W. L. Goodwin Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Cemetery.
Mrs. Clark is survived by one daughter, Patsy (Larry) Clanton of Lanett; one son, Randall (Glenda) Clark of Columbus; three granddaughters, Hope Baldez, Amy Weldon and Kristy Lummus; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd (Betty) Lipham of High Point, N.C., and Billy Ray (Tommie) Lipham of Smyrna, Ga.; and two sisters, Christine Craven of Dallas, Texas and Delia Fraley of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Born October 10, 1917 in Barfield, Ala., Mrs. Clark was the daughter of the late Nancy Pearl Halpin Lipham and James Marshall Lipham. She was a very good and faithful member of the Fairfax First Baptist Church and was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Clark.
The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and asks that memorials be made to Fairfax First Baptist Church in her memory.

Mrs. Hamby is survived by her husband, C.C. Hamby of LaFayette; one sister, Evelyn Rogers of Huntsville, Ala.; and one brother, Staley Ingram of Montgomery.
Born in Tallapoosa County, Mrs. Hamby had been a school teacher, and she was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaFayette.

LaGRANGE -- Mr. Clifford Johnson Jr., 84, of Shoemaker Road in the New Harmony Community died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Hospice LaGrange.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 5 at 2 p.m. at the New Harmony C.M.E. Church on Adams Road with the Rev. John Pollard officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery of LaGrange.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie McCord Johnson of West Point; four children, Lula P. Lee of New Paltz, N.Y., Anita Rowland and Forrest Johnson Sr. of West Point and Carolyn McGhee of Atlanta; sons-in-law, Willie J. Rowland and Willie McGhee, both of West Point; two daughters-in-law, Mary Johnson and Jannie Johnson, both of West Point, 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Columbus (Essie Mae) Johnson and Elzatie Colbert, all of West Point; three sisters-in-law, Minnie McCord of LaGrange, Ruth Potts of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Ardell Winston of West Point; one brother-in-law, John (Josephine) McCord of Indianapolis, Ind; and seveal nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A native of West Point, Mr. Johnson was Born Feb. 3, 1920 and was the son of the late Clifford Sr. and Carrie Winston Johnson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was an employee of Batson-Cook Co. and the Lanier family. He was a member of New Harmony C.M.E. Church where he served as superintendent of the Sunday school, chairman of the stewards board and class leader.
