MRS. WILLIAMS
FIVE POINTS -- Mrs. Marilyn Williams, 74, of Five Points died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Funeral services were scheduled at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette Monday, July 5 at 2 p.m. Burial followed in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Milford McClain officiating.
Mrs. Williams is survived by two daughters, Joy (Kenneth) Abner of Valley and Sandy (Danny) Kendrick of Five Points; one sister, Jean Foreman of Montgomery, Ala.; two brothers, Huey Conway of Sturkie and Coke Conway of Opelika; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Born Feb. 24, 1930, Mrs. William was a member of Fredonia Holiness Church in Fredonia. She was a retired waitress.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
Visitation was held at Jeff Jones Funeral Home Monday, July 5 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. CDT.

LaFAYETTE -- Mrs. Omie Trimble, 95, of Lafayette died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at Bethany House in Auburn.
Funeral services are scheduled Thursday, July 1 at Antioch Baptist Church of LaFayette at 1 p.m. with the Revs. Wayne Barrett and Taylor Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Hill City Cemetery.
Mrs. Trimble is survived by one daughter-in-law, Gearline Trimble of Montgomery; two granddaughters, Bobbie Jean Walls of Birmingham, Ala., and Faye Trimble of Mobile, Ala.; one great-granddaughter, Shannon (Rob) Fondren; one great-grandson, Bubba (Lara) Walls; two great-great-grandchildren, Savannah Hope Walls and Makayla Leigh Fondren; and nieces and nephews.
Born in Chambers County Feb. 20, 1909, Mrs. Trimble was a retired textile employee, She was the oldest member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Trimble was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Trimble; two sons, Robert Eugene Trimble and Willard Trimble; and eight brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends at Jeff Jones Funeral Home Wednesday, June 30 from 6-8 p.m.

WEST POINT -- Miss Melissa Dobbins, 25, of West Point died Saturday, June 12, 2004 in LaGrange.
Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday, June 16 at 11 a.m. at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point with the Rev. Dennis Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Shawmut Cemetery.
Miss Dobbins is survived by her mother, Sharon Underwood of West Point; her father, Dugan Dobbins of Lanett; one sister, Heather Underwood of West Point; her paternal grandmother, Ruby Jones of Lanett; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grizzle of Acworth, Ga.; and her maternal step grandfather, Leonard Hawkins of Valley.
Born in Clayton County, Ga. on Nov. 6, 1978, Miss Dobbins was a member of Shawmut Nazarene Church. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Joyce Hawkins.

WADLEY -- Mr. David Samuel Hill, 80, of Wadley died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday, June 16 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Wedowee with Elder Thomas Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery,
Mr. Hill is survived by two sisters, Gatha Yates of Wadley and Lavonia Battle of Detroit, Mich.; a devoted niece, Dorothy Watts of Wadley; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Mr. Hill was born Sept. 8, 1923 in Randolph County. He was a life-long member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church.

LANETT -- Mr. David Lee Brown, 76, of Lanett died Friday, June 11, 2004 at Bethany House in Auburn.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 13 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Revs. Robert Lee and Gordon Harris officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Diane Brown and Debbie (Phillip) Buchanan, both of Lanett, two sons, Randy (Amanda) Brown of Lanett and Jimmy (Melanie) Brown of Auburn; nine grandchildren; 51/2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Langdale on April 15, 1928, Mr. Brown was the son of the late Ticie Lavenia Rotton Brown and Robert Maynard Brown. He was an active member of West Side Baptist Church where he loved to sing and where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Brown was a founding member of Valley Haven School and was a member of a local bowling league. He loved camping and enjoyed spending time with his family and playing games with them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Frances Brown, a sister, Ruth Brown and his brothers, Robert Brown, Giles B. Brown, Wilson Brown, Albert Brown, J.W. Brown and William Brown.

LaGRANGE -- Mrs. Jerilee Noema Andrews Cannon, 71, of LaGrange died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at University Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.
Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 15 at 2:30 p.m. in Shawmut Cemetery with the Rev. Anthony Dean officiating.
Mrs. Cannon is survived by two daughters, Pat (Randy) Darden of LaGrange and Brenda (Carl) Krames of Gainesville, Fla.; one son, Ronald (Lisa) Cannon of LaGrange, three sisters, Zella A. Tobin of Shalimar, Fla., Thalia A. Newton of Shalimar and Neva Leak of River View; nine grandchildren, Mollie Steadham, Robert Krames, Christie Cannon, Maggie Brown, Wesley Krames, Will Darden, Michael Krames, Caitlin Darden and Kevin Krames and two great-grandchildren, Mary Beth Steadham and Matthew Steadham.
Born on May 26, 1933, Mrs Cannon was the daughter of the late Hope Colley Andrews and Willie Lee Andrews. She had lived in the Valley area for 16 years and had been a resident of LaGrange since 1953. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dog Russell.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Diabetes. Association in her memory.

Mrs. Gray is survived by two children, Ellis Gray and Joann Gray, both of Key West, Fla.; four brothers, James Benton of Key West, Tommy (Dorothy) Benton and Sammy Lee Benton Jr., both of Lanett and Charles (Elaine) Benton of Atlanta; and one sister, Irelia Magby of Valley. She is also survived a special aunt, Luddie Pearl Dudley of Chicago and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Born on Jan. 7, 1923 in LaGrange, Mrs. Gray was the daughter of the late Mattie Jane and Sammy Benton Sr. She was preceded in death by two children, Freddie Gray and Jean Gray and two brothers, Harmon and Billy Benton, all of Chicago.
